SCOTUS calls a halt… — 9 Comments

  1. At the rate things have been going (this week), the Democrats and their woke brigades will soon be demanding to ban Thanksgiving—-there must be a wiccan alternative out there somewhere….

But one must indeed be thankful (or at least make the effort…and if that doesn’t work, heck just fake it!).

    From Bloomberg(!):

And just to review the “bombshell” events of the past week:

  2. Am I correct that there isn’t even a pretense of some proposed illegality being investigated here? They basically just want to look at Trump’s taxes because they think they should be able to look at Trump’s taxes?

  3. Thank you Neo.

I read a long article a week or two ago about the lawsuit in Connecticut against Remington Arms Corp. concerning the Sandy Hook shooting. If I recollect correctly, the SCOTUS did not agree to consider the case, which had 2A supporters worried/outraged.

But the lawyer who wrote the article claimed that almost all of the case against Remington had previously been thrown out, except a small false advertising claim. He also argued that if the advertising claim could be proven true, and it probably couldn’t, it would be an entirely legitimate interpretation of the statues.

It can be complicated. Let the wheels turn.

  4. A subpoena of Trump’s financial records is simply an effort by democrats to cast doubt on Trump’s integrity. My professor of Accounting warned us of the many ways taxing authorities detect fraud so the best advice is to conduct business honestly. I would not be surprised if there is office space reserved in Trump Tower for the express use by IRS and NYS auditors. Year in and year out, audits are part of doing business in America. In no way is it unusual for taxing authorities to come calling. In Trump’s case if there were tax evasion issues we would have known about it years ago.

  5. Piggy-backing on my assertion from yesterday that Trump is kinda screwy but he’s no fool — I certainly would think he’s smart enough to have made good on any IRS-related irregularities before running for president.

And continuing, I certainly would think that if there were any remaining such irregularities, some Deep State bureaucrat would surely have blown the proverbial whistle on it long before now. (The illegality of making private communications public without consent has never bothered whistle blowers before.)
