I can’t resist this one — 22 Comments

  1. Works fine in Firefox. Looks like her future husband won’t be able to get in a word edgewise.

  2. Watching her hands is almost as fascinating as listening to her persuasive disquisition. Some orators are just born with a gift, contra Demosthenes.

  3. I tried to post this video on our family blog this morning, using Firefox, but as soon as I tried, my computer froze up so thoroughly that I backed off in fear and dismay. But it’s so funny that I’m going to try again tonight — even if it does provide my husband with ammunition in the Gender Wars.

  4. I believe she’s saying of course I need a credit card! and a car! and clothes!

  5. I thought she was Rachel Maddow but it turned out, I’m wrong. Dear thing makes much more sense.

  6. Where’s her cell phone?

Oh, right, she’s not driving, so the cell phone is optional.

  7. its a hunter gatherer thing…

ever live in bear country picking berries? they tell you to do what all the time? make noise… since bears and big animals tend to run away from groups of humans together… so a gaggle of women picking and digging roots and such would survive better if they were a noisy group. and what better way to make noise than to incessently talk?

you can see this with the guys. you always see them posed as sharing silent moments. grandad and son watching the sun set. etc. guess what? talkative hunters only get deaf animals.

this is also why most men dont want to bring their wives hunting or fishing. i am not referring to the guys that go and use it for a bull session time. i am talking about the guys that go and climb a tree and sit in it togeher for 5 hours and barely say a word.

[yes there are women that can hunt and dont do this. but i have known few of them. very few of them]

out in the wild hunthing things and walking your territory, you want to be quiet and get the drop on what or who is there. inside the territory near where its dangerous to be for the outsiders, you want it noisy and such, so everyone thinks that everyone is home.

  8. Artfldgr,
you are being so politically incorrect, yet so true. I do know one female hunter – early 20’s, beautiful girl- deer hunter. But the majority of the hunters I have met were male.

  9. I dont know if i am being incorrect. i certainly believe that women are capable of it, just as men can learn to speak up more often (not in competitive terms). now that doesnt make me a liberal, just that i realize with will one can expand a bit.

many many women enjoy shooting and hunting. twas a woman that introduced me to trap shooting getting her husband to take me out with both of them and him custom loading for me. I thought i did pretty good hitting the mid 80s on average maybe a bit more.

i guess whats politically incorrect is that i see propensity. i see that a child needs to hear speech all the time and interact early all the time to maximize their ability. and i see women fit with that when their needs are met and and have that environment around them – then then are free to give their time, while the men go out in to a more hostile unhealthy environment to bring back enough to create that time. her specialty is his versitility.

women are now suffering the conditions of men with lower life expectancies, and much lower satisfaction. their children are suffering, the state is more intrusive and abusive to them. more are in poverty, and i guess its just not as nice as they said it would be and the more its like they preach the nastier it seems to get.

i never understood the idea that if many are not good or as good at something, that one should judge by the group, and not the individual – that means all are free to succeed, but not all can make it. i can understand but not concure how a bunch of people who claim to be collectivists were trying to push the group by neutralizing individual differences and propensities. the best we can do then is mediocre average as we sink to the mean. but when this happens, the mean shifts and so the system constantly sinks lower and lower.

where the mean/average live depend on how high the top go.

[take a rubber band, tape one end to a ruler, stretch it a bit and put a mark in the middle. if you want to model an increase in the upper half, then stretch the rubber band more, and middle moves up the scale. if you take off the top and the top contracts say to 8 inches. the middle ends up where? and finally if the state reaches in and grabs the rubber band ad a different point and stretches and pulls it to the left or to the right, no matter how much they pull it either way can they get the middle to move. if you repeat this exercise from the beginning and put another dot on the bottom inch, and a dot on the top inch… you will also see that no matter how they wipsaw the middle, the bottom dont rise much, and the top is always on top and dont move much. the only think that works at all, is to let the top keep getting higher up]

  10. I agree with Jess, above, if not for the gender problem that little girl could would have a great future in calling the prayers from a minaret.

That was brilliant. I think you’re right. It makes perfect sense to me.
