  1. DeSantis expected to campaign for Trump

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis agreed to campaign on behalf of Donald Trump after the former rivals met Sunday morning as the ex-president looks to retake the White House .. The two prominent Republicans met in Miami in an attempt to patch up a strained relationship, according to sources.

  2. A Concise Look at Chasiv Yar, Kurakhove, and Avdiivka Area – came across Frontelligence Insight site not too long ago and they seem to be fairly accurate. A Pay site w/ some Free stuff, here are snippets:

After Avdiivka fell under Russian control, there was a concern that Russian forces would continue their rapid westward advance towards hastily constructed defensive lines. However, after two months of intense battles and heavy losses, the Russians were finally able to penetrate Ukrainian defenses in Ocheretyne, a town located approximately 10km northeast of Avdiivka – Ukrainian forces were forced to retreat from both Ocheretne and Solovyove.

Russian forces have concentrated their capable and motivated units towards Chasiv Yar .. This concentration of effective units not only indicates a priority for the Russian command but also suggests the formation of offensive potential .. While it will be difficult for the Russians to reach this goal, in the current situation, this is a realistic risk that Ukraine might face if the Russians have success both in Chasiv Yar and beyond Ocheretyne.

    V. THE OUTLOOK

But can the Russians realistically achieve these goals within this year? Military theory suggests that once defenses are breached, mechanized units exploit the breach and advance into the “operational space”—a geographical area where units can maneuver freely to achieve operational objectives. However, due to losses in vehicles and challenges with frontline logistics, the Russian army is unlikely to conduct deep strikes into Ukrainian territory, similar to those seen during the initial invasion period in 2022.

The situation on the frontline is expected to stabilize with the arrival of new ammunition, weaponry, and freshly mobilized but trained recruits.

Despite the challenging outlook for Ukraine, it’s important to recognize that Russian ambitions and plans outlined by their general staff do not necessarily dictate the future .. Consequently, their goal of capturing the entire Donbas region may be unattainable in the foreseeable future. This could lead to a reassessment of their end goals and potentially reduce their willingness to sustain the war.

Ukraine has held off the once feared & mighty Russian military for over two years now – they are fighting for their Freedom & their Lives, and have no intentions of surrendering to Russia. What other American ally could accomplish such a feat? Granted, Ukraine isn’t a true ally yet, but could end up being the best ally America has ever had, IMHO.

In the background, many people have forgotten that Russia has land once taken from China – ‘They will take it back!’ China ‘readying land grab’ on Russia as Xi turns on Putin.

Unlike what the GOP pro-Russians and/or GOP Russia Doves are claiming – Ukraine isn’t necessarily in the losing position here…for example: Zelensky Reveals U.S. and Ukraine ‘Working’ on Scheme for 10 Years of Military Aid

  3. Interesting video! But I’m pretty sure that the word is “albinism,” not “albanism.”

  4. By far, the most famous violet eyes were Elizabeth Taylor’s. And I don’t think she had albinism. I once knew a girl whose eyes were blue and brown at once. Not one of each, but both eyes had wedges of each color. It worked.

  5. But the rarest of the rare are Little Orphan Annie eyes, although they were also seen in her dog, Sandy.

  6. Eeyore — Elizabeth Tyalor’s eye color was not the violet to which he was referring. I always thought they looked like a deep blue color and less “transparent” than most blue eyes seem to. The violet color to which he was referring is more like really transparent blue that you can see the retina through. Two layers make the color. It’s a really unique look.

  7. I’ve long found David Bowie’s eyes fascinating. In photos it looks like he has a light blue eye and a dark brown eye. It gives Bowie, already striking, an even more unearthly look.

However, he has a technical condition called anisocoria which is characterized by an unequal size of the pupils. As a teen Bowie got into a fist fight over a girl and he got punched in the left eye, which paralyzed some tiny eye muscles and left his eye with the pupil fully dilated.

Weird Al, if you’re listening, how about a parody song, “He/She has David Bowie Eyes”?

  8. }}} Jim Biden Was in Business with Qatari Officials – Jeez, these people have no shame…

  9. Columbia faculty making a human chain to shield protestors from police. Even if tenured could be removed for such. But given the general attitude of the administration and the board, it will never happen.

  10. sdferr,
I assume you’re quoting Stephen Stills and Buffalo Springfield. Though the lyrics can be a bit ambiguous, I suspect Stills would be siding with the protestors.

  11. Elites heart genocide.

But can the gnomes from Xi land get the next plague delivered on schedule?

And who or when will the Hamashite supporter be martyred by “them” to be the symbol of injustice to stoke the mostly peacefully (riots) protests?

  12. “Screams Before Silence”, a documentary

    –sdferr

Handle with care. I’m not big for trigger warnings and I’m sure it’s a great necessary doco, but I had to duck out after ten minutes. It was before anything super graphic. The horror and my anger were just too much.

  13. Prophetic songs-“Won’t Get Fooled Again”. I watched lyrics from the song play out in real time in 2020. This is a song that came out in 1971.

  14. Just notice that an old cellmate had died back in 2002. Met him at a new prison in Dade county FL, but that prison may have changed names because they’re showing DCI was built in 1996, and the prison I’m talking about was built around 1975. New when I moved into one of the two man modern cells, and one of the first FL air conditioned prisons.

My second cellmate got transferred, and “Big Tony” was moved in. Wanted my bottom bunk—I laughed and he climbed up on top bunk.

This prison had a bunch 5 or 6 mafia prisoners, and this cell block had 3-4 before Tony came over—he wanted to be w/ his mafia buds. They had some special privileges – like not having to eat in the mess hall – they could cook in a special section of the library & hang out there also. Mafia guys usually just hang out together, i.e., Tony ‘n me were not friends—just cellmates.

Tony was a hitman who had murdered another hitman in Miami—“reputed mobster Thomas “The Enforcer” Altamura”, and was in for that and maybe also the Hobbs Act plus some other crimes.

Anthony Esperti went by Tony Esperti or “Big Tony”. Sorta looked like Luca Brasi from the Godfather movies. Lost in the TONY ESPERTI/CASSIUS CLAY fight by TKO 3rd round.

  15. Still on my Andy Edwards YouTube kick.

Edwards is a mid-fifties prog musician of some note. He’s established a YouTube channel with a decent following based on his intellectual improv about music, particularly rock and prog.

Recently he ranked all the Beatles albums IHHO. The man really loves the Beatles. Any fears I had that he was a critic eager to establish his authority by slagging a Beatles album were soon quelled.

There are no bad Beatles albums. Some may be better than others.

Imagine my surprise, though, that he put “Magical Mystery Tour” at #2. My secret fear was that he would put MMT near the bottom with sniggering. I love MMT but have always felt guilty about it. No more. Thanks, Andy.

Here’s the link cued to “Magical Mystery Tour”:

Anyway. If one is obsessional about rock, Andy is a lot of fun.

  16. Meanwhile back at the encampment…

Columbia University on Monday began suspending pro-Palestinian activists who refused to dismantle a tent encampment on its New York City campus after the Ivy League school declared a stalemate in talks seeking to end the polarizing protest…

The crackdown at Columbia, at the center of Gaza-related protests roiling university campuses across the U.S. in recent weeks, came as police at the University of Texas at Austin arrested dozens of students whom they doused with pepper spray at a pro-Palestinian rally.

Columbia sent a letter on Monday morning warning that students who did not vacate the encampment by 2 p.m. ET and sign a form promising to abide by university policies would face suspension and become ineligible to complete the semester in good standing.

“We have begun suspending students as part of this next phase of our efforts to ensure safety on our campus,” said Ben Chang, a university spokesperson, at a briefing on Monday evening.

“The encampment has created an unwelcoming environment for many of our Jewish students and faculty and a noisy distraction that interferes with the teaching, learning and preparing for final exams,” Chang said.

I find this quite interesting. Aside from my concerns about Israel, it seems that academia is beginning to understand that the irrational hatreds, which it has helped create and inflame, are not only antithetical to the academic mission, but are an existential threat to academia’s survival in its current form.

    Are they learning yet?

  17. I don’ t know if they (including the Brandon junta) have learned anything; will the suspended student’s student loans (?) be forgiven? Will taxpayers subsidize their anti-semetic genocidal ideation?

  18. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/feminism-has-left-middle-aged-women-like-me-single-childless-and-depressed/ar-AA1nEqxM?ocid=msedgntp&pc=HCTS&cvid=8399ae193f6344b98f7eda79747837c9&ei=19

Feminism has left middle-aged women like me single, childless and depressed

the world has changed in a way the early feminist would find incomprehensible and grotesque – indeed, she would view today’s flag bearers as hollow and preposterous nothings. I sometimes think the West has outgrown the feminist philosophy entirely and should cast it off.

the truth is that much of my depression sprung from a solitary existence that would be eschewed by a race of alley cats. I do not know one single woman of my generation who lives such a life and actually likes it. Our plight is like that of the Tory voter, or of certain minorities before the 1960s liberal reforms. Such people as myself lead twilight lives, afraid to go out during the day, commiserating with each other in the privacy of our homes. Now, thanks to Generation Z, we are the demographic that dare not speak its name. Readers may demur, but I have sympathy for Generation Z. I really do. Not for its idleness, but for its desire for emotional fulfilment; for its instinct that human affection and relationships are as important as work, or even more so.

  19. artfldgr on repellent feminism and the life of loneliness:
I annoy fault you for everything you’ve written ABOVE. I’m sure many others here will agree, too,

  20. …[I]t seems that academia is beginning to understand that the irrational hatreds, which it has helped create and inflame, are not only antithetical to the academic mission, but are an existential threat to academia’s survival in its current form….

Ah, but Huxley, what if the hatreds are, in fact, PERFECTLY RATIONAL? What if they are the epitome of MORALITY? The LAST WORD in ETHICS?

IOW, what if “academia” already “understands” that the so-called “irrational hatreds” are not only PERFECTLY RATIONAL but are to be encouraged, taught, indoctrinated—caringly and lovingly, of course—at every level?

…that is, as long as such “rational” hatreds are directed against the “appropriate” countries and groups…

After all, isn’t this PRECISELY what they’ve been teaching, training indoctrinating…SO WELL and SO EFFECTIVELY for decades?

…such that one MUST assume that EVERYONE participating in the current cutting-edge genocide-fest will in effect earn EXTRA CREDIT and be FAST-TRACKED to not only a first-class degree but a cushy, automatically-tenured JOB at their local Genocide U.—sub-rosa, of course…but word does tend to get around…at least to Babylon Bee any NY Post reporters…

…In fact, the perfect—and final—solution for the global sins of racism, of colonialism, of paternalism, of whiteness, etc., at least as Academia (in its benevolent wisdom and unequivocal search for TRUTH) sees it…

  21. I used to have brown eyes, but now, in my dotage, my eyes have lost color, like what hair I have left.
My mother always had those particular yellow-brown eyes called hazel, and now I do too.
