A terrorist attack of unknown origin in Iran — 29 Comments

  1. Your final line identifies my hope. But internal or dissident forces may have done the targeting of the attack as well.

  2. I stand by what I said. The Red Sea is a problem beyond anything we’ve faced since WW II.

  3. I can see the Iranians doing it to their own people, to create ” martyrs “, and stoke hatred against everyone else.

  4. If it were Israel, it means their people can do this, in what amounts to broad daylight. Like that nuclear scientist ambushed. But in the latter case, as in the Lebanon strike, it was necessary to know who, when, where. And know to wait. That means somebody on the inside.

The bomb blast yesterday…? Read the public notice and put the bomb you’ve made up out of…whatever in your trunk.

  5. My immediate sense was that no way was this an Israeli deed — as simply not their mode or type to kill wholesale civilians this way — but could be MEK or some other internal Iranian government foe, there being ample cause and hatred amidst Iranians already present against the mullah-o-cracy

  6. Iran is predominantly Persian in culture and its version of Islam. Good possibility there’s a lot of pent-up anger. And the dead were there, we presume, voluntarily, to honor a top example of the oppressors. So no sympathy from the Persians.

  7. It’s highly unlikely that Israel conducted this bombing, it’s not their MO at all, and likely not in their interests given other priorities.

What I found interesting were reports that the crowd of mourners did not include any regime bigwigs or prominent power players as would normally be expected for such an event. The regime itself, or elements of the security services, must be included on the list of suspects.

Also, there are other factions including groups within Iraq who have quarrels with the heavy-handed Iranian masters, as well as ISIS types and PKK Kurds who might have motive.

  8. Whomever carried out the deed, the world is a better place today than it was before the scum were eliminated.

  9. I agree this attack isn’t in the Israeli MO, however I think they do have motive.

Iran is behind the Oct 7 attack, yet the US insists funding Iran and building it up via the Iran Deal. Israel has reason to disrupt this due to the Oct 7 attack and also due to Iran nearing development of the bomb.

  10. Remember when Democrats tried to pretend that there would be horrible repercussions from the killing of Soleimani rather than admit that Trump had done something right? That was amusing, but quickly overshadowed by Covid.

  11. A few analysts have suggested ISIS, an extension of Sunni-Shiite violence, but at this point nobody seems to know.

  12. Predicted headline at NYT any minute now:

“That the attack does not match the usual tactics of Israel indicates that they are attempting to disguise their involvement.”

  13. “we can get you, too”

“Whomever carried out the deed, the world is a better place today than it was before the scum were eliminated.”

These statements constitute gross immorality, actual depravity.

Mossad did this. Mossad specializes in murder and terrorism. And Netanyahu’s racist, genocidal government is actively attempting to drag the US into a major regional war against the Palestinians, Iranians, and Yemenis’

This site, and many of the commenters on it, has sunk to the level of The Daily Stormer. Maybe Anglin will begin posting here.

Thanks for the projection. We’re all educated, I’m sure.

  15. I see you got there already

If there was a target like fekrizadeh their aq khan of course they would do it

  16. Oh, really? Yer just doin’ Mossad’s work again, bob sykes!

Unz twerps fancy the Iraq War was one of the ‘wars for Israel’. The actual government of Israel advised the Bush Administration to give priority to containing Iran. They don’t know anything and they can’t think.

  17. Well at the time saddam was paying the mothers of martyrs among other elements but so was prince nayef the saudi interior minister

  18. Bob’s right.
    War sucks.
(But maybe that’s why Hamas/Hezbullah/Iran/Yemen shouldn’t have started one. Could be. Perhaps. Granted the connection might be a bit complicated for some people to actually comprehend… In fact more than a bit complicated. Oh well, what to do, what to do…… One solution might be to freeze-frame Oct, 7 and keep on passing out the candy, raping the women and screaming about how the Zionist Entity is a paper tiger and about to collapse, all the while insisting that it is your RIGHT as a victim to keep on keeping on keeping on keeping on trying to destroy that Na-Zio State while claiming that you love DEATH (and taking hostages!! And shooting missiles and rockets into populated areas—keeping in mind that there is no such thing as an innocent ZIO)! Don’t forget, though, to DENY that Oct. 7 ever happened. Oh, and also—this is VERY IMPORTANT—DON’T forget to shout GENOCIDE, GENOCIDE, GENOCIDE!! Yes, RAGE against the ZIO Machine and anyone and everyone who supports it. Oh, and keep passing out that candy! And holding those hostages! And threatening the ZIOs with destruction! And denying Oct. 7. It’ll work eventually.)

  19. Poor “bob sykes,” a rant disproved so quickly. The WSJ reports that the Islamic State, i.e., ISIS, has claimed responsibility for the two suicide bombers.

  20. and the usual suspects deny it of course,

the Salafi have had a very old quarrel with the Shia side of the Ulema,

in other ring circus, the one struck down in Baghdad of the ‘army of nobles’ harakat al nujama was one of those critters that liz cheney seemed to keep in her menagerie,

  21. I get tired of stupid arguments like side show bob over here,

they make some insinuation about terrorism and israel, but they leave out the target then was the likes of cardinal bernadotte or Lord Moyne earl of guinness not civilians as we commonly understand it

  22. With bob sykes I’m not so sure we should Bless his heart, I’m leaning towards May God have mercy on his soul.

  23. but if you mind has stuffed with the inanity of ilan pappe or this finkelstein character, or the late Robert Fisk, you’re not going to the right conclusion,

  24. I knew it was not Israel because Israel does not do mass casualty attacks. Still stuck on stupid, bob sykes?
