  1. Years ago I made the recipe and gave some to a friend. Immediate reaction: “it’s German.”

    Much easier on the teeth compared to the hardtack Lebkuchen my Scots-Irish mother made, but just as tasty.

    For those who haven’t tried Neo’s recipe, I highly recommend it.

  2. Two questions:
    Why would one cut this confection into small pieces instead of healthy chunks?
    What possible reason is there or storing this instead of diving right in?
    I confess, both answers totally elude me.
