  1. I really don’t like gag orders preventing 3rd parties keeping private info from telling the subject. It really seems like a work around to the warrant allowing to be ineffectively contested, especially if the X/Twitter legal dept has “concerns” about the target. Why would Trump assume a good faith challenge ?

The system is NOT supposed to make it easier for the government to evade oversight.

  2. The article says Trump’s team plans to appeal this all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary. Damn right. This is blatantly unconstitutional.

  3. Kissinger’s demise provides an excuse for not covering this. And of course, the war(s). Elon Musk, etc. etc.

  4. Just another in a long line of appalling, lawless actions by this awful Regime. There’s been so many it’s hard to keep track of them all. Even if Trump manages to win next year and Republicans hold the House and take the Senate, I don’t have much hope that there will be any justice regarding the Regime’s lawless activity.

As we all know, Jack Smith is the execrable Merrick Garland’s loyal toady. And of course Garland despises those that denied him a position in the Supreme Court, which no doubt he felt that he was entitled to. As much as I dislike Mitch McConnell, I’ll always thank him gratefully for his part in that.

Kissinger’s demise provides an excuse for not covering this

To be fair, the Mainstream Media doesn’t need an excuse for not covering a story that reflects badly on The Regime.

  5. Kinda like the “War Measures Act”.
    Suspend habeas corpus.
    Subvert the Constitution.

“Biden” is, in fact, at war with the country “he” governs.
(But “he”‘s already made that clear…)

Meanwhile “his” Number One Target is the man who wants to return the country—and its people (all of them)—to greatness…or at least try to do so.

    Figures.

  6. So let me get this straight, for 8 years we put an attorney in charge of the Executive branch of the Federal government whose primary career experience was using social agitation and lawfare to foment unpopular political change and teaching others how to use social agitation and lawfare to foment unpopular political change, and now we find that the Executive branch of the Federal government is full of people using social agitation and lawfare to foment unpopular political change.

Shocking. However could this have happened?

  7. On one hand nothing Jack Smith does matters as he was illegally appointed as Special Prosecutor. He does not meet the qualifications spelled out in the Special Prosecutor law. On the other hand, he has the full weight of the Justice (cough* criminal *cough) Department behind him. So, in the military one can disobey an unlawful order. Can citizens do the same?

  8. JFM,

Citizens can do the same, but the other side can, and will use force to get their way.

Like me, I think many Americans foolishly thought the letter of the law (and having just laws) was important. We now see all that matters is the enforcement or non-enforcement of the law. Law doesn’t matter. Law enforcement matters.

  9. I would like to repurpose what Nikki Haley said to Vivek, and say to Jack Smith “You are scum.”

Also, Rufus, great comment at 6:57 PM!

  10. Once again we see that there is never a shortage of individuals ready to do the real dirty work; just following orders.

Too bad there isn’t a way to put folks like Jack Smith and his superiors in jail for a real long time.
