Joe Biden : here, there, and everywhere — 31 Comments

  1. His staff is letting him (and the Democrat party) down. They should just say that he will be releasing written comment and not making any verbal comments. We all know what that means but it’s less embarrassing than having him stand up there and lie time after time.

  2. People who speak such untruths, it seems to me, fall into a few categories.

Those who are honestly mistaken. Happens. In the instant case, this includes the possibility that Biden actually believes what his poor excuse for a brain constructs for him.

Those who think they’re convincing their entire audience because the audience couldn’t possibly know better.

Those who know that some of the audience, possibly a majority, know better and know he’s lying. But they don’t care since that cohort is already written off and maybe a few of the unwary may be convinced. There is no negative cost, since the people who know better already know better about him. Can’t get any worse in their view so…what. It’s the unwary few.

If I were as charitable as it would be a good idea for me to be, I’d put Biden in the first category. But I’m flawed. He’s been lying so long that I put him in the second category since only a couple of his lies in his life have turned around and bitten him. Some have not worked, possibly, but only the Kinnock life story has had a negative effect.

I don’t think he’s bright enough to fall into the third category. He has no idea who knows what and he thinks his audiences are entirely newly-plowed soil.

So what happens out here, among his audience(s), is irrelevant. He looks worse and worse but it makes no difference either to him or his supporters. The rest of us don’t count, not our opinions or our votes.

  3. Just call him ‘T Ain’t So Joe.”

is a bumbling, dangerous and cynically dishonest prevaricator

  4. There isn’t anything that Brandon won’t lie about.

Nearly 3000 Americans murdered on this day 22 years ago is just another occassion for Brandon to fabulate.

His handlers just couldn’t keep him at a beach somewhere and away from a microphone for one more day?

  5. Hillary Clinton has said that she visited the WTC site the day after the attacks. She remarked later, “I cannot imagine anything that looked more like the Gates of Hell.” I don’t know how she got there when all planes were grounded (special privileges?), but apparently she was telling the truth.

Biden was not there on 9/12. He did visit later in the month, but Joe was never one to let the facts get in the way of a story.

  6. Maybe part of the reason the regime wants to put Trump behind bars is that it gives Biden (and Harris) a reason for not debating him. I don’t see Joe being any more clear-headed a year from now.

  7. To be fair…
Gropey Joe can’t remember what he did 22 minutes ago let alone 22 years.
But since he lies as easily as he breathes…Who’s surprised here?

  8. My sister-in-law is sort of a pathological liar. Actually I think she’s more of a fabulist than a liar. A fabulist and an exaggerator. She tells little lies and I am convinced she really believes what she’s saying. I like her but I can’t take anything she says at face value. She isn’t mendacious or anything like that. She just has problems with the truth. Maybe with reality too. Also, she can’t keep a secret. If you say to her, “Don’t tell anyone about this,” what “this” is will be common knowledge within a day. She just can’t help herself.

I don’t think Biden is like her. Biden’s telling of lies is, I believe, a product of stupidity, ego, and narcissism. He’s a pathological bullshitter.

  9. He no longer cares that he’s lying. All the time.
That is, if he ever did care.
(At least about that he’s being absolutely truthful.)

Neither does any other member of his administration care that they’re lying. All the time.
Especially the creature that serves as his most apropos spokesman. (Or the one before her.)

    Or the corrupt media.

File under: President Zelig…and his pathologic entourage of post-parade street-cleaners.

  10. In spite of his ongoing problems Brandon will be re-elected in next year’s Pandemic Panic II constrained election with 90 million votes.

  11. It seems that Biden was on Ground Zero as part of a group of Senators on September 20, so he was there, just not on the day he claimed. A usual, he exaggerated his involvement in order to appear more heroic. I think what delayed him was his confrontation with Corn Pop. Or perhaps it was his jail house visit to Mandela. Or that time he was imprisoned for his civil rights activity. I have difficulty keep his Brobdingnagian adventures “top of mind,” as KJ-P is wont to say..

  12. If Biden said that the sun rose in the East this morning, I would have to fact check that. Other than for entertainment, it is useless to listen to anything he has to say, regardless of the original source.

  13. Biden reminds me of my late unlamented stepmother. She told lies, and once she told them a few times, she seemed to believe her stories were true, and she demanded that other people accept her stories as true. This is a pathology, not just the fuzzy remembrances of age.

  14. he’s a evil and foolish man, in his youth he was backed by the worst segregationists, the mob if you believe the irishman, and firmly supported the Soviet line in the heart of the Cold War

  15. Having said that, I’m not sure he’s REALLY lying, though…
That is, IF they’re transmitting stuff TO him, for him to say…and he says it (or tries to say it to the best of his ability)…does that make HIM the liar?

    Jus’ sayin’….
(Of course if you believe that, I have an alien space ship to sell ya’!… On the other hand, maybe it IS the case that he’s being prepped, coached, drugged and prompted. Oh, and he does need his beauty rest, cuz’ it ain’t easy being prepped, coached, drugged and prompted all the time, nosssir…IOW, maybe all that beauty rest isn’t JUST for beauty…)

‘N speaking of alien space ships, why can’t y’all just look for proof of Nessie’s existence…like normal people….
    – – – – – – – – – –
    “…fuzzy remembrances…”
Um, Kate, it can also be cultural.
(Though we can refer to it as “colorful”, “interesting”, “different”…etc.
You’ve lived amongst ’em, haven’t you?

  16. I’m remembering the speech he gave in 1987 when he appropriated Neil Kinnock’s family history. We were a different country back then, so when John Sasso of the Dukakis campaign produced a split-screen video where Kinnock’s remarks on his family history were juxtaposed to Biden’s confabulations about his, Biden was forced to withdraw from the presidential race. He’s always been someone who lied quite brazenly.

To that you have a new factor: the fictions people generate when they can no longer form new memories. If I understand correctly, this is most intense with Korsakoff’s syndrome. Biden’s staff has never come clean about what sort of dementia he has (if doctors have decided). Street-level Democrats just pretend it isn’t happening.

  17. yes mo dowd did some journalism back then, then she got her prized op ed slot at the Times and went Basenghi

yes it’s the Costanza effect, is he lying or he believe it,

  18. Despite Joke Bidets display of the early stages of Alzheimers and his non-stop lying, demokrat voters will not hesitate to vote for him.

They will vote for any demokrat, even a cadaver.

As for the demokrat power brokers- those that actually set the executive branch policies- a senile president will be that much easier to control. They will just limit his public and official appearances as needed; they can always send someone to take his place for any occasion (even if need be the moron, Kamala Harris; the world’s best example of the downside of affirmative action and DEI. I am still trying to figure out how she passed the Bar exam).

The demokrat members of Congress, who should be outraged that their president is senile, incompetent and actually guilty of criminal actions, really do not care about any of this because all that matters to them is attaining political power, the Constitution be damned.
For them, the Constitution is an outdated piece of soiled toilet paper created by a bunch of racist, slave owning, misogynist, white men.

The time is long past when one could say that the demonkrats and dumbpublicans all seek the same outcome, differing only in the path to a given goal.
The former only seek to impose – for starters anyway – a “totalitarian light” govt that totally ignores the Constitution. Of course, as one should expect, this sort of govt will degenerate into “classic” totalitarianism in the model of Castro’s Cuba or present day Venezuela.

You have to give credit where credit is due; the demonkrats always stick together, in contradistinction to how the dumbpublicans operate.

I understand why many despise Trump, but when he was president, many (most?) congressional dumbpublicans – instead of working with him to achieve common goals – decided not to work with him. The stupidity of this beyond my comprehension because it’s obvious that if he failed as president, it would set the stage for the next president to be a demokrat.

The political stupidity of the dumbpublicans is as incompetent as the Joke Bidet / Obama policy towards Iran.
Iran does not represent an existential threat to the USA , but demonkrat voters certainly do.

“At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.”

    Abraham Lincoln

  19. No, Barry, I don’t think he’s lying because his handlers feed him lies (although that is probably the case on policy issues). He’s always been a liar, and still is.

  20. So harsh.
My wife thinks we should feel sorry for him. I demur.
I feel sorry for the citizens of the United States of America
My sympathy is mitigated by the knowledge that “we” let this happen.

  21. Art Deco @ 9:13
He’s always been someone who lied quite brazenly.

To that you have a new factor: the fictions people generate when they can no longer form new memories.

I think that is exactly right. He has always been (in Neo’s words) a mendacious mediocrity.

When my mom’s Alzheimer’s began to get worse, she would fabricate memories that had a minor connection to reality. Nothing mean, or meant to pump herself up, just things like “the day I rented a Corvette for your dad” (my dad had a picture of himself in a Corvette taken at an auto show, but he never drove one), “swimming in the fish pond with your dad” (there was a pond, but it was only 3 feet deep), or “the time I served Bill Cosby at the Deli” (my mom and Bill Cosby both grew up in North Philly, but they never met and she never worked in a deli). She absolutely believed what she was saying. We knew the stories weren’t true. But my mom was never a liar, so, while we sometimes rolled our eyes, we gave my mom a hug and a kiss, but never denigrated her stories.

  22. Remember when the MFM was keeping count of Trump’s “lies”? I think they included “hamburgers piled a mile high” for a White House cookout. Good times, good times.

  23. stu: “the sun rose in the East this morning”
except if you follow the reasoning provided by Buckminster Fuller some decades ago, the sun did not rise; instead the earth de-eclipsed the sun; and re-eclipsed it in the evening.

Once I started to think that way, I found it easier and easier to consider that I was moving towards the sun in the morning and moving away from it in the evening. Did not change the beauty of either event as to color, drama, etc. Just a different way of considering relative motion. But the old way of thinking from the prior decades as sun-set and sun-rise still comes out, too.

How completely do we have to change to be a real changer?
