Yes, it’s that time again: asking for donations [BUMPED UP: Scroll down for today’s new posts] — 29 Comments

  1. I just made a substantial contribution, for me. I urge you all to think of how you value this blog and then encourage Neo accordingly. In addition to valuing her time-consuming deep research and thoughtful analysis, I value her as a woman with varied interests and loves (Gerard). I would not appreciate the ballet and The Bee Gees, otherwise.

  2. Don’t forget that you can also donate by making your Amazon purchases using the link on Neo’s blog.

  3. So, here’s my pitch.

People who read your blog are not fans of paypal or patreon. They are hostile to the folks on our political side (that is, not insane marxist fanatics). But there’s a way that might be effective that you may not have considered before.

Create a playeur.com account. Folks can set up monthly donations there easily. It’s a platform that’s responsive to all content creators, not ones that adhere to certain ideologies. You might consider offering perks like maybe readings of your posts that folks can listen to like a podcast. But no matter what the simple way to donate monthly works out.

  4. Upped the semi-annual contribution by 50% to compensate for the Brandon economic effects.

  5. Not only is Prigozhin gone, he appears to have departed with the help of a Russian ground-to-air missile. This just reaffirms the admonition to make sure you are successful if you strike at the king. Another thought: no one in Russia is going to be to able to show the slightest independence from Putin unless they are willing to kill him. There will be no voting him out of power and replacing him. He won’t go until he’s dead. That tells anyone with the slightest independent thought what they have to do. We have returned to the Stalinist era!

  6. A timeless truth that Prigozhin ignored: If you strike at the king, make sure you kill the king.

  7. ahhh. . . Maybe not? Could it be that a man that smart put two decoys into his seat and that of his second in command?

It’s too simple for me right now . . .

  8. In addition to making donations through PayPal, I’ve bookmarked Neo’s Amazon link and make all my Amazon purchases that way. It won’t be much in any one transaction, but I’ve been doing it for years and I hope it’s adding up over time.

  9. I would like to send a cashier’s check–it’s how I pay for most things now as I don’t like to put my credit card out there. Is there a physical mailbox?

  10. Mrs Whatsit- I’ve been doing the same thing. I buy a lot on Amazon (even bought a snow blower on Amazon last year), and I’m sure it adds up. In addition to a small automatic monthly donation.

  11. And thanks for all Amazon purchases through this site! It does help, too. I used to get more revenue through that conduit than comes in now, mainly because readers don’t use Amazon as much. But a big thank-you to all who do.

  12. I don’t agree with neo on 100% of things but I value what she does, and I hope she can keep doing it as long as she wants to.

Part of the reason the country is so screwed up is that so many people are willing to take something free, but there’s strings attached–your privacy, your attention to their marketing, your exposure to their propaganda. A lot of conservative media is already corrupted by their participation in these systems. Neo is not.

If we want people like neo to have a platform, we’ll have to help provide it.

  13. Started to make a small donation via Paypal. When I reached the final page, the site had filled in my street address and displayed a small print blurb below my address, stating “This organization needs your address for their records. Contact them for info about privacy policies.”
Is there some way around this? Would donation via credit card do the same?

  14. I’m with Anne. Trying to keep my credit card off most sites, including PayPal.
Any way to send a check, yet?

  15. Marlene; Steve:

Sorry, but I’ve not yet found a way that works for me. I don’t like to give out my address. And when I’ve researched other, non-Paypal ways, they have many of the disadvantages of Paypal and also require a great deal more personal and business information from me (almost like the IRS). I do think you can use Paypal without linking a credit card, but I’m not sure exactly how that works. One way is a bank account – which you may also not like – but I think there are other ways to put a balance in your Paypal account and then draw from it.

  16. Have you thought about renting a small private mailbox in one of those mailbox places? They cost about $115/year and are well worth the service.

  17. What i warned is easy to late to avoid if you know the math

Population collapse was a conspiracy theory earlier, but is now “good for us”

    By Influencers, 8/23

Remember how depopulation was called a right-wing conspiracy theory? Things have changed, and “population collapse,” which can no longer be denied, is now good for us!

The Telegraph picked the perfect messenger to communicate the new way we should think about population declines. A high-level WEF adviser tells us:

    https://web.archive.org/web/20230817195336/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/08/17/20-year-low-for-baby-born-in-england-good-news-for-planet/

Oxford Professor Sarah Harper is a very important person. The Telegraph article listing her credentials forgot to mention that she serves on the Global Agenda Council on Ageing Societies of the World Economic Forum.

They did much better than Hitler
    80 million aborted up there
And convinced to do it to ourselves, they are heroes not zeroes

    Done deal
    They talk cause it’s over
    And it is.
    Condors get saved
Not white news and who saved them

  18. Kill the boer!

Check out the vid where they Venegas driving people out of their neighborhood and biden pulled in 7 million uneducated. Some deseased. And children did the pedos..

    Malaria is back…

  19. Neo,
Follow up from yesterday. A couple months ago I set up a paypal donate button on a site of mine. This morning I reviewed the set-up and see on the last page, in a section named “Set up your payment page” there is an option to toggle whether you want to “Get donors’ mailing addresses” or not. If this option is set to off, the donor’s mailing address will not be automatically entered or required.
A Paypal community thread on the subject states “This is checked by default when a button is created. The feature exists because many charities need to know where to mail a thank you letter or a small item.”

    Steve

  20. I remember it well. Well not that well, but pretty close. The failure of Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro to win the 1984 election in California.

I have searched for the newspaper articles but my historical dates are a little wonky. HOWEVER, I do remember this part. The day before the California election Mondale/Ferraro headed over for a quick trip to “Tahoe” to relax.

Yeah–sure you betcha was my thought at the time. Myself and thousands of other Californians went to the polls the next day to vote for someone else(+/-).

By then most people in California already understood that Tahoe/Reno/Las Vegas–Nevada as a whole, was operated by the mafia. A quick trip to Tahoe then, as it is today, was an indicator of who was funding/handling/buying this particular candidate. Not to mention that there were many stories about Ferraro’s family being mob-related in the East. (Friends with Pelosi?)

This memory came to mind as it has been reported that Joe Biden wasn’t satisfied with the salty air of the eastern beaches, but rather had to stumble up into another airplane and fly to “Tahoe” for his ‘vacation’ this past week.

Let’s not forget that in retaliation for his loss, Mondale followed up shortly thereafter by making his state the first to legalize gambling on Indian Reservation lands–Indian casinos are a gift from this guy and his “friends with beaches” in Tahoe.

If you want to help repair this country–stop gambling of all types!

  21. Steve:

When I go to my “payments” page at Paypal, there are many donors who don’t list addresses. So my payments are already set to supposedly not require addresses.

  22. Joy in the White House!
(Along with that good ole sense of pride in achievement!!)

Yep, the Fentanl/Tranq epidemic has finally, FINALLY hit the Big Apple.

Scram SF; move over LA; take a back seat, Philly…it’s NYC’s turn to take center stage!!
Indeed, just another stellar achievement for President Fentanyl!!
    And so…
    Dear Mr. “President”,
keep those personal/family/city/state/country policies of UTTER destruction coming!!!
(Can’t have enough crises now, can we!)

But maybe that’ll teach Mayor Adams NOT TO criticize “Biden” about anything—especially not the SECURE SOUTHERN BORDER!
    (Hochul, too, should take note…)

Remember: Decent Joe doesn’t HAVE TO do this…but he IS DOING it for our sake! For US! All of us….

  23. …Looking at some TV shows, today:

    1) the show, “Mail Call”, is doing a program on- tactics used by terrorists in the past,

    and,

    2) some PBS channels are showing a show about- some parts of The British Army + terrorists fighting each other, in 1960s-(1990s?), Northern Ireland.

Why are these channels interested in terrorists, right now?

Has there been an [escalated threat] of terrorist attacks, In Europe or in The Americas, recently?

What have you heard about this topic?

Please tell me what you have found.

  24. Sent. Please keep up the good fight Neo! Your space here is a place of sanity for me.
