The Brits are contemplating making parental failure to cooperate with transition a form of child abuse — 12 Comments

  1. According to this article the proposed law includes partners too:

The CPS has listed nine types of behaviour which could amount to abuse of trans or non-binary people by their partners or members of their family.

These include “withholding money for transitioning,” which would include either spouse refusing to pay for gender surgery, counselling or other treatment in a way that amounted to coercive control or abuse.

Wow. Surely that wouldn’t affect people’s marriage decisions.

Imagine marrying, then discovering your partner wants to transition and you’re financially on the hook.

    What a nightmare!

  2. A couple I knew from college have a daughter, who married a guy she met in grad school. The guy is now in some stage of transition. They’ve even frozen his sperm to keep their options open for children.

The daughter’s parents are quite progressive, so they are OK with the transition in principle, though if they had their druthers they would prefer he stayed a he.

The daughter knew early on of her partner’s desire to transition, so it’s not a bait-and-switch. Interestingly, she had a previous boyfriend with the same desire.

Plus ça change, plus les choses changent.
The more things change, the more things change.

  3. I wonder if the Brits have a minimum age for getting a tattoo?

I watched a British documentary(?) on transgender people. There was an attractive young transgender woman (male to female)(can’t remember which is which) who was very, very upset that her new boyfriend had broken up with her. He broke up with her when he found out his girlfriend had male genitalia. She kept saying that she didn’t understand why he ended the relationship. She said this over and over again. This was some world class denial of reality. I really don’t care one way or another, but some trans people really need psychiatric help and counseling.

Is this law in England going to be applied to all the people in England? Or just the Christian English?

  4. “Is this law in England going to be applied to all the people in England? Or just the Christian English?”

JFM…There are precious few Christians left in England. The CoE hardly passes for orthodox any longer and you can bet your bottom shilling the adherents of Islam won’t be forced to do anything contrary to their beliefs.
But it will certainly be applied to any regular Brits who don’t go along to get along.

  5. To make marriage less likely?
To make having kids less likely?
To weaken, even destroy, the family?
To promote a switch to state-controllable families/test-tube babies?
To confuse and confound the population?
To help out the lawyers? Doctors? Educators? Medical personnel?…Such as they are….
    But MAINLY:
To reduce the world’s population (because we know—the WTF keeps reminding us, after all—that there are far too many people around…and that we gotta be more like China, even if China relatively recently admitted that it screwed itself royally with its one-child policy, which has since been shredded).

OTOH, it’s encouraging to know that in spite of everything, there are some who catch on quickly to the latest game in town!
“Male sex offenders are ‘twice as likely to identify as trans women than any other prisoner’, report reveals”—

  6. That is not Thatcher’s England, certainly,

I wonder if any vibration has been detected in St. Martin’s Churchyard, Bladon, West Oxfordshire District, Oxfordshire, England ?

Certainly Churchill must be spinning under that slab.
