  1. The illegitimate usurper at 1600 (albeit spending most of his time in Delaware, with occasional travels in order to sample ice cream) has also claimed that his son died in Iraq and that he has two important words to share: “Made in America”. His cognitive impairment (not to mention the utterly destructive policies of this worst of all possible administrations) notwithstanding, perhaps half the citizenry of our moribund republic, whose brains have been conditioned and programmed into utter hysteria and irrationality, would choose him once again over the evil Kremlin-installed Orange-man.

  2. “Doctor” Jill is doing her best to micromanage Brandon’s public appearances: First lady Jill Biden tore into White House staffers after they failed to cut off President Biden’s second solo press conference in January — when her husband kept taking questions even as then-press secretary Jen Psaki signaled to the president to wrap it up, according to a report. . . . Following the presser, which went on for about two hours, Jill Biden popped into a meeting of top White House officials who were rehashing the president’s performance, the New York Times reported.? . . . The Times report, describing how the first lady has become a favored surrogate for the president ahead of the midterm elections, noted that she has been protective of her husband and even took part in hiring White House staffers and press aides, including vetting Psaki alongside the president.

  4. “nationwide, gas prices came down about $1.35 from their recent high, and they’re still down over a dollar from that”

Lets see, so according to Biden the $4.65 gal gas came down to $3.30 then another $1 from that to $2.30. I would love gas at $2.30 instead of the $3.50 in my part of CO.

  5. I remember when gas in California was under $1 a gallon. And I remember that last place I saw gas for under $1 a gallon – an Arco station off I-680 somewhere between Benicia and Fairfield.

Not sure what the price was elsewhere in the country back then (early 90s).

Of course, gas in the PRK is more expensive because of Dem policies – policies that they would replicate elsewhere if they could.

  6. The silver lining that is the dark cloud with pResident Bidet is that, as long as the democRats continue to double down on their planned fundamental transformation of America into the most immoral of nations… he is an albatross around their party’s neck. Bidet just spent two days in Portland trying to shore up the Democrat’s candidate for governor. Who is behind in the polls. It’s to be celebrated that the democrats refuse to consider that the source of their weakness with voters is the results of policies divorced from fundamental realities.

  7. Dave L.:

I remember when gas in NJ was 35 cents. Actually, I think when I was really little it was something like 19 cents, but I wasn’t noticing so I’m not sure.

  8. Gas have been cut from $6/gallon to 3$/quart. And chocolate rations have been raised from 25g/month to 20g/month.

  9. I’ll add 6): it is a means of preparing the battlespace and trying to ease people in to the “new normal”, especially those in left-dominated states that the Left needs to maintain at least some level of control over.

  10. Yes, Biden has always been able “to connive and to lie, to be corrupt and nasty, and to play to his leftist base.” He’s a smooth operator in his mind. Slyly sniffing women’s hair, copping a feel, nuzzling strange women and thinking, “Hah, I’m so smooth. No one complains.” To him his office has primarily been a place to enrich himself and his family. In his mind, only “suckers” don’t put their hand in the till when the opportunity arises. He’s declining mentally, but the crooked, snake oil salesman instincts are still intact.

All in all, a loathsome person. That he and Kamal Harris are POTUS and VPOTUS shows, unfortunately, that “anyone” can become president of the United States.

  11. @ PA Cat > According to a tweet from Bill Jacobson, “Fixed: Biden admin to release another 10-15 million oil barrels from nation’s emergency stockpile in bid to minimize midterm election losses.”

It’s a textbook case of “taking a nose dive.”

Just in my own bookmarks, starting in 2021, I have more than a dozen posts noting the ill-considered, probably dangerous, and also corrupt embezzlement from the SPR to boost his polls.
He ought to have to pay for every replacement barrel from his cache of foreign bribes.

“In today’s edition of ‘everything they accused the Trumps of being,’ the Washington Free Beacon reports that the Biden administration sold roughly 1 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese state-controlled gas giant which Hunter Biden had a stake in as recently as 2015.

In March, Joe Biden ordered the release of millions of barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in order to address the record-high gas prices that were plaguing the nation. Gas prices are still way above normal, and Biden is still tapping those reserves, but he has a plan: once oil prices drop below $80/barrel, we’ll restock it.

    How considerate.

It’s just too bad we didn’t load up the reserves when gas prices were much cheaper.

Oh, wait, Trump tried to do that. But Democrats stopped him.

With oil at the time priced at about $24 a barrel, Republicans proposed spending $3 billion to fill up the reserve. But the idea became a political football in larger negotiations on trillions in coronavirus relief, with Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer proclaiming that his party had blocked a ‘bailout for big oil.’”

This was an incredibly costly decision. According to Bloomberg, because of the Democrats’ grandstanding over “big oil” profits, the United States effectively lost billions in potential profits, not to mention that there was less supply

The Biden administration disputes Bloomberg’s report and claims that they don’t have any plan to restock the reserves until at least 2023. I’m not sure how that’s supposed to make us feel any better. The reserve is now at crisis levels.

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2022/09/27/bidens-depletion-of-the-strategic-petroleum-reserve-could-be-catastrophic-soon-n1632699

As fuel prices reached historic highs, Biden stubbornly refused to do anything that would increase domestic supply, opting instead to buy fuel from overseas before eventually raiding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. It was a foolish thing to do, and while gas prices have gone down, the impact of raiding the reserves is debatable. But one thing is for sure: Biden depleted the reserves, which are now at a 37-year low, to boost his poll numbers.

Now that Hurricane Ian is headed for Florida, the folly of Biden’s tactic is on full display.

That’s not to say he shouldn’t have seen this coming. Jeffrey Lord predicted this exact scenario back in July.

“The Biden administration, for political purposes with an eye on the November election, is using the SPR to lower the price of gas. And just where is the SPR getting its crude in the first place? That would be the Gulf of Mexico — which is exactly where so many hurricanes wind up in the United States,” Lord wrote at The American Spectator. “All of which means Biden is lowering U.S. reserves — and taking the chance that no hurricane will hit the gulf in this coming hurricane season that will halt the ability of the U.S. to refill the reserves it has used for the purely political purpose of lowering the price of gas at the pump.”

Hurricane Ian is currently in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, heading to Florida.

Of course, the Biden administration is pretending the depleted SPR isn’t a concern at all.

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve wasn’t created for presidents to lower the price of gas to help their political party in elections.

The results were not as bad as Margolis feared, fortunately.

Offshore operators ceased operations and evacuated platforms and rigs in the eastern Gulf of Mexico ahead of Hurricane Ian making landfall in Florida early on Sept. 28.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the storm hit Florida just south of Punta Gorda as a Category 4 at approximately 4:00 p.m. EDT on Sept. 28.

According to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), 157,706 bbl/d, or 9.1% of all oil production in the Gulf, and 128 MMcf/d, or 6% of gas production, has been shut-in.

I’m presuming that’s all back in production by now, but it could have been much worse.

  12. I totally agree with your last paragraph. I also wonder if the majority of the population of his state, which elected him to the post of US Senator for decades, is not as rotten as Biden is.

  13. I’ve begun calling them the “Marie Antoinette Administration”–I’m hard pressed to remember any administration so detached from reality on so many subjects–it’s breathtaking really. And I suspect it’s deliberate.
