  1. A Geranium? Not Germanium, the elemental question? Annual or perennial and not periodical?

  2. Grover Norquist, the tax cut advocate, has a somewhat encouraging article to the effect that unless the Democrats push through massive changes now, they face long-term decline.

Thus, massive spending plans, massive tax increases, massive changes in election laws plus (new to me) plans to massively tax firearms and ammo — $200/year per firearm and magazine holding more than ten rounds.

I believe Norquist is correct that Democrats are motivated as much by desperation as by lust for power.

What is the modern Democrat Party doing? And why? The Democrat leadership understands that unless they change the rules for the economy and elections, their party will not just lose control of Congress in 2022 as they did with Clinton in 1994 and Obama in 2010. No, they’ll lose their grip on American politics entirely.

Democrats face a long-term decline in the structures and funding that make theirs a competitive party. Without massive new spending and programs, the party will decline in size, strength, and funding to the point where it will cease to be a serious competitor for national power. Without dramatic changes in America’s laws, it is the Democratic Party, not the Republican Party, that is on the path to oblivion.

  3. According to a disturbing report from the Jewish Voice, the Pentagon is working with a contractor to track web searches that it describes as indicators of “white supremacy,” citing the phrase “the truth about black lives matter” as one example.

    Good grief.

  4. The boy has finally broke out of his funk! My step son divorced several years ago and it’s been a nightmare but he finally started getting out. Joined a dance group. Meeting new people and having a good time. Looks like fun. Thank God!

Well let’s keep them busy then!

  6. @jack:

More seriously… a wise young internet security savvy fellow might do good work by reporting SJWs to the Feds *and* other SJWs for various present and past infractions of the SJW Code (it changes weekly, so won’t be hard to find infractions).

Be outwardly more SJW than the Pope. It’s not illegal to attack the Enemy from the Left. That’s how you know they’re the Enemy 🙂

  7. @jack:

Salsa is great fun! But I trust that your son is aware that many hungry female sharks of a certain age inhabit the Salsa School Pool. At least this has been my observation on two continents. Once bitten…

  8. @JimNorCal:

Convinced Crocus Fan as of now!

Botany is not my strong point. Recently installed PictureThis plant ID app so I could begin to get a clue when I’m out walking in parks.

Well … we can all take this a little too far at times, Zaphod. Myself included.

When, the other day for example, I posted a link, and a reference to the jug-eared, elephant nosed, moral vermin Lyndon Johnson shrieking endlessly, hopelessly, and most of all deservedly, in the eternal fires of perdition, along with Jack Kennedy’s pop Joe et al, I admittedly crossed a bridge too far by vulgarly referring to their olfactory conjunction with each others … whatever. Shudder … too awful to even moot hypothetically.

That transition then, from a perfectly justified – and frankly emotionally satisfying – metaphysical conclusion and accompanying visual image of their unending fate in the frying pan, to a further and unnecessary allusion to their allegedly grotesque physical postures (and something about which we may be much less philosophically sure) while smouldering in that lake of flames, was arguably uncalled for; and could even be considered disrespectful to the memory of those once human (more or less) but now lost forever souls, themselves.

‘Be measured in all things’. That shall be my motto henceforth, even regarding the deservedly damned.

  10. @jack:

I didn’t need to see that “I Can’t Breathe” Hippothotamus! Uncle Sam will be sending you an extra helping of Government Cheese courtesy of FEMA shortly.

    @DNW:

‘Be Measured in all things’. I take it you’re referring to the standard weight-adjusted table of drops (UK Home Office version)?

If you dig around online you can find the WWII US Army Field Manual for proper conduct of every aspect of hangings and executions by musketry whilst on campaign. The level of detail gone into is really something.Diagrams, Blueprints, protocols, the lot.

  11. @Zaphod

“I didn’t need to see that “I Can’t Breathe” Hippothotamus!”

Sweet dreams. If she rolls over on top of you … you are in BIG trouble!
