DA George Gascón’s latest attempt to turn LA County into a scene from a dystopian movie — 18 Comments

  1. Per my post from a few days ago, people like Gascon don’t live with the consequences of their policies behind their gated guarded community. Like Tom Wolfe’s Radical Chic crowd that hung with the Black Panther’s they think they are part of the vanguard and then go home to their safe space.

The radical move would be to ban all gated and fenced communities and no personal guards including elected officials. You will see the narrative change.

But remember this. THEY VOTED FOR IT!!!!!

  2. Kim Foxx (Cook County, in which the Democratic machine created Obama) was the first of the Soros-funded radical DAs to wreak havoc in our so-called system of criminal justice. In addition to the ghastly Gascon, this rogues’ gallery includes, among others, Kimberly Gardner (St. Louis), Larry Krasner (Philadelphia) and Chesa Boudin (SF), nor is it easy to determine which of these baleful enemies of truth and justice has been the most destructive. The elder Soros may soon be gone, but his malign legacy will continue with his children, who seem to possess the same ideological fanaticism.

  3. The real target is the Bill of Rights. Make society so dysfunctional that people will beg for law and order, which these jackals will be only too happy to provide, but they can’t be restrained by that pesky Constitution thingie.

  4. … prosecutors had said they feel they’ve already been hamstrung by Gascón’s decision to ban them from using gang and gun enhancements.

Do liberals really care about gun violence? If so, what’s the best way to reduce gun violence? How about stopping violent criminals who are found to be in illegal possession of guns. Oh no, can’t do that. Let’s add another dozen gun control laws to the books instead. Hypocrites.

  5. “Make society so dysfunctional that people will beg for law and order, which these jackals will be only too happy to provide, but they can’t be restrained by that pesky Constitution thingie.”

If any Leftist thinks their side is going to be the one empowered by societal dysfunction, I’d like to meet them and let them know about this great real estate deal involving some prime Florida wetlands.

Always keep in mind, no one is going to applaud harder for The Man on the White Horse than the suburban Karens who just voted for Joe Biden.

    Mike

  6. Before moving to LA, Gascon was between Kamala Harris and now Chesa Boudin as the San Francisco District Attorney.

So: Harris, Gascon and Boudin — that’s quite a run of Sorry! cards for SF DA.

  7. “Before moving to LA, Gascon was between Kamala Harris and now Chesa Boudin as the San Francisco District Attorney.” – huxley

Don’t Democrat voters ever look at the backgrounds of the people they are electing?
No sympathy for the LA majority (some for the other side, because everybody suffers when the idiots elect criminals).

I’m thinking of getting a Spartacus Bumper Sticker:
“Don’t like it? Quit voting for it!”

Except as we have learned, so many people don’t connect their votes with the consequences, and just keep on keepin’ on.

On Thursday, Dan Bongino urged his audience to watch or just listen to a video of Yuri Bezmenov, a KGB defector to Canada, who came to love America and tried to warn Americans about the KGB’s plans. Listening to him is eerie because he spelled out in detail exactly what the Soviet Union was doing — it wasn’t planning to take America down through the military. Instead, it intended to destroy America from within by infiltrating the education system, three generations of young people to hate this country and each other and then watching them go forth and plant the seeds of self-loathing throughout the nation.

When it came to understanding how the Soviet Union operated, Bezmenov was the real deal. His father was a high-ranking army officer, so Bezmenov was raised inside the system. He went to KGB schools and worked for the KGB for a decade until he defected to the West, eventually landing in Canada.

In the 1980s, Bezmenov was able to move to Los Angeles, where he lived for five years. It was in L.A., in 1984 or 1985, that he gave an interview to G. Edward Griffin, a conservative writer and thinker. During the interview, Bezmenov explained that the Soviet Union was not interested in fighting America. It was interested, instead, in co-opting it through psychological warfare. It is that interview that you’ll see below.

…and note that he describes 2021 to perfection:

Most of the people who (reeducated) in the sixties, drop outs or half-baked intellectuals are now occupying the positions of power in the Government, civil service, business, mass media, educational system. You are stuck with them. You cannot get rid of them. They are contaminated, They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern. You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information, even if you prove that white is white and black is black you still cannot change the basic perception and illogical behavior. In other words, these people, the process of demoralization is complete and irreversible. To get rid society of these people you need another twenty or fifteen years to educate a new generation of patriotically-minded and commonsense people who would be acting in favor and in the interests of the United States society.

Neo had a discussion on the people he describes earlier this week.

Long-time readers here have seen this interview before, or at least heard of it.
It should be required reading for all voters and elected officials.

Of course, some of them probably have it in the same box as “1984” – an instruction manual, not a warning.

  8. “Lately the news has been so terrible that it’s hard to escape the feeling that we’re presently living in a madhouse.”

  9. “Lately the news has been so terrible that it’s hard to escape the feeling that we’re presently living in a madhouse.”

Indeed it is, and I’ll take the occasion of that remark to say how important this blog and some other conservative sites have become for me. I’ve been feeling lately like the only sane person in that madhouse, and I think it can be very hard for that one person to stay that way when crazy is the norm. As someone said on Rod Dreher’s blog the other day, gaslighting can work if you don’t keep your guard up. So it really helps me to have contact with other people who seem to inhabit the same reality.

(Not that some of y’all aren’t on the fairly eccentric side as well. :-))

  10. Rufus, the hive mind doesn’t focus on intellectual fads and cults forever. There is some turning off and turning on….a cycle of some sort. E.g. how long did the eugenics fad last? Larger civic apocalypses may be the only way to distract the social brain. If ‘economic depression, unemployment and high food prices, along with a regressive tax system’ could cause a crisis that Louis XVI could not manage–despite coffee houses and reading clubs and Masonic lodges–how perfect are we mirroring this set of dilemmas today? Are we in a trap door with a one way function?

  11. Among other radical leftists, Gascon is effectively enabling mass murder. Given the mind set of those who elected him, there is no practicable, legal remedy. It’s just a matter of time till one of his victim’s relatives or friends holds Gascon personally responsible… and takes the law into their own hands.

That is, the ancient law of an eye for an eye.

When societal justice is abandoned, only vigilante justice remains.

Radical leftists are courting a terrible reckoning.

  12. While all this is disgusting in general, anyone who still lives in Cali gets what they deserve.

The writing was on the wall two decades ago, and written across the sky a decade ago.

If you didn’t Yet Get The Message: Cali Is Doomed.

The insanity there has long since shifted into maximum overdrive, straight towards the cliff. The only question is WHEN the break happens, not if.

If you do still live there, use your brain and GTFO. And I mean, like, abandon your freaking property, establish another place, and then sell whatever you have left there as quickly as possible.
Got a job there? Fuck it.
Got a home there? Fuck it.
Got family there? Tell them to GTFO, too.
Got friends there? Ok, stay there, you are clearly a hardcore leftist.

  13. Like in the movie “Thief” the word that turns off the security is “Mexico.” Mexico is what Gascon is turning LA into. A world of a few elite uber-wealthy families ruling from on high while the 99% rest of the people live in fear of warlords and their gangs who control/corrupt everything and everyone as they constantly war against each other.

  14. I wouldn’t be surprised if the tactic is to drive any remaining moderate DAs out of the system, just as the “Defund the Police” movement of last summer wasn’t really to abolish the police, but rather purge and politicize it. The new Secretary of Defense is doing the same thing with the US military. They want you to quit.

It’s my opinion they’ve actually used this strategy for years, beginning at least with the imposition of the PoMo in graduate schools in the mid 80’s and early 90’s.

So it’s very dangerous to take them at face value, and think they’re just deluded or crazy. As Orwell recognized, it’s “controlled insanity.”

  15. Makes sense. Like Compton, the Illegal gangs drive off the violent Black gangsters and improve the “grift”. Cali had a lot of ghettos. Soon, the evicted Black “Bangers” will be coming to “affordable housing” (projects) near you. The “Beaner Bandittos” are “progress”. or “profit”. The Progs don’t want no data base or enforcement.

If you think, “stupid”, you just don’t understand the “plan”.

Enjoy your patio while you still can.
