Where would the MSM be without shaky and suspect speculations? — 19 Comments

  1. Bombshell! Bombshell!
Where have I seen that before?

    And don’t forget GOLFGATE!

  2. President Trump continues to play 7th dimension Chess while the MSM stays clueless.

The report will be released and will contain … nothing.
Giving the President yet another example of how lame both the democrats and the MSM have become.

And peeling more voters away from the d’s. At this rate the 2020 election will be a Republican landslide.

  3. The Mueller team included only Democrats and people determined to take down President Trump. They couldn’t come up with anything that would even, marginally, be presentable in an indictment.

    No wonder they are upset.

In other news, my sister-in-law has a coworker who has a friend that knows someone important that is really, really upset that Bernie Sanders is trying to undermine and take down Uncle Joe Biden.

  4. People familiar with the situation report that the New York Times is rife with pedophiles and drug dealers.

  5. The writing style is soooooo masculine…
i can just hear Gidgit the captain of the football team telling all the people in the locker room things like that…

you all just biatching that the backyard fence busybodies of the horrid auxiliaries run everything and thats how they “communicate”… jeese watch some old movies…

maybe, just maybe, there were reasons things were customary in the past, and they arent the reasons given that made it seem the past was stupid and it was an easy fix…

    anyway
    on the other note..

His opposition is now busy validating him and not working on any coherent platform or ideas or positions other than hodgepodge socialism with feminism taking out Biden and so on..

In a dirty world where no one likes you, to succeed other than within the rules is to hand the other your gluteus maximus, and fail. It has ALWAYS been the key thing to note, the pretty, the loved, etc. are given passes, people who are not liked dont get passes… they have but one protection when all is laid bare (and public is watching – another important point).

    i would prefer
President Trump continues to play 7th dimension Chess while the MSM plays Clue.

in this way, each one thinks a different thing is the crime, and we all find out when the legal envelope is opened… did professor plumb seize the bearded clam in the tinkle bed? its the game of Clue…

  7. Every slight equivocation, every bit of evidence of even the remote possibility of something that can be interpreted as supporting guilt or even suspicious behavior, will be emphasized and repeated and harped upon.

and never again will anyone ever run that would do as much good as whats going on that people aren’t noticing…

JOBLESS CLAIMS FALL TO 49-YEAR LOW…

  8. Henry D, your report is just as credible as most of the ones in the NY Times. 🙂

  9. If successful, the media is not going to enjoy the future they imagine. But at least they will fully deserve their fate.

LOL – haven’t seen it put that way before.

More from RedState’s post though, really pwns the Timess & WaPo:

“In other words, these Mueller team members that are leaking to the press are doing so in a knowingly disingenuous way. They know that the report is legally marked confidential — something they did — and that Barr can’t just run to the podium and start giving details yet.

So what exactly are they frustrated about? Especially, since we are going to get the report in a few weeks anyway? The answer is that they are worried about political perceptions. They don’t want the initial conclusions released by Barr to settle into the public subconscious. They want the report to be weaponized with selective leaks but if Barr waits to release the entire report at once (after redactions), that disarms them.

Here’s the other thing that some apparently can’t grasp as they set their hair on fire over these reports. If Mueller’s team actually felt Barr was misrepresenting something, there’s nothing stopping them from going on the record at this point. There’s nothing stopping Mueller from releasing a corrective statement, as he did when Buzzfeed published a false report on Michael Cohen.

Think about the things you have to believe are true to think Barr is misrepresenting the report. You have to believe that Barr, with a 30-year reputation on the line, is lying for Trump just to cover for a two week period. You have to believe he’s lying about Mueller’s report while also being longtime friends with Robert Mueller. You also have to believe he’s lying while Mueller himself is helping redact the report for release. Lastly, you have think Barr is dumb enough to misrepresent the report despite the fact that he’s releasing said report anyway.

None of that makes any sense. You’d think these storied newspapers could do some basic critical thinking before running with thinly sourced anonymous reports, but I guess not. Who needs ethics in journalism, right?”

Those “storied” newspapers is exactly the right adjective.
They haven’t done any critical thinking for years; why start now?
It just messes up the narrative.

  11. O.T., but the Spectator also has quite an interesting piece by Heather McDonald on the latest Scandal, namely Joe Biden’s purported touchiness (so to speak). I think she thinks that some among the Gentler Sex are a bit overwrought.

Joe Biden and the Deranged Policing of Personal Apace
….Have the grounds for feminist complaint ever been lower?

“Maddow still knows obstruction took place. And if only she could see the full Mueller report, she would explain it all to you. (Maddow is promoting a “day of action” for Americans to take to the streets and demand the report.) It wasn’t the Russians; it was old man Barr in the drawing room with the candlestick! Trump is guilty of failing to obstruct an investigation that cleared him!”

  13. These “news” sources provided so much bad information over the last two years that they should have no credibility left. Yet I have family and friends that read only the NYT and watch only CNN (because “they are in the middle”).

    Sad.

  14. I want dna tests on the Russian hookers who peed on the hotel room bed where the messiah slept. Show me.i am just north of Missouri.

  15. https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/two-takes-depression/201106/if-it-bleeds-it-leads-understanding-fear-based-media

“News is a money making industry. One that doesn’t always make the goal to report the facts accurately. Gone are the days of tuning in to be informed straightforwardly about local and national issues. In truth, watching the news can be a psychologically risky pursuit, which could undermine your mental and physical health…..News programming uses a hierarchy if it bleeds, it leads. Fear-based news programming has two aims. The first is to grab the viewer’s attention. In the news media, this is called the teaser. The second aim is to persuade the viewer that the solution for reducing the identified fear will be in the news story. ”

Great article well worth reading written WAY before Trump even entered the race. Suggests to me the media is just doing what it has always done but now with a cheering section of the unhinged.

  16. Where the Dem media could go, but is NOT going — to do real journalism and report all the facts of the important stories.
Then, in opinion or analysis, speculate on what today’s facts mean about the future.

The Dem Fake News folk are enemies of the people, and it’s good for Trump to call them that.

Yet, why aren’t there more honest, conservative reporters? It’s certain there is some market. It’s disappointing that Fox competitors are hardly being tried.

On the other hand, there is Tea Party News:

and WhatFinger News (thumbs up or down):

    plus Breitbart:

So there’s plenty to read, even if Neo doesn’t cover everything. (Surprising how much she does cover!)

  17. I don’t watch TV news, except for an occasional Tucker Carlson. The local Tucson paper I Iook at for the weather. My wife reads it. She wants to go see the wildflowers.

I am a firm believer in Michael Crichton’s “Murray Gell-Mann Amnesia theory.”

    Here is one example.

The Times had editorialized that the NRA was a bunch of hypocrites because although attendees with gun permits were allowed to carry guns on the convention floor, those guns were actually neutered by having the firing pins removed: “Seventy-thousand people are expected to attend the National Rifle Association’s convention opening (last Friday) in Tennessee, and not one of them will be allowed to come armed with guns that can actually shoot.

That was not true. Exhibit guns were disabled. I know from surgeon conventions that exhibits have a habit of disappearing into the crowd.

    The correction was weak.

    Correction: April 11, 2015
An editorial on Friday about the National Rifle Association’s convention incorrectly described the rules for carrying concealed firearms at the event. Carrying is prohibited at one of the main convention venues, not all of them.

    Which venue ? No mention.
