Dan Davies was an accident waiting to happen… — 34 Comments

  1. Obviously a case of murder by a state trooper.
Kim Foxx should immediately launch an investigation of the police.

  2. Has anyone seen a photo of this drunk driver? I get suspicious in these cases. I look for a photo; there should be a booking photo in the felony DUI case from 2010. In Britain, it’s “South Asians” and in Chicago, it’s “Youths. ” This crook was a bit to old for a “youth” but the absence of his photo suggests a reason he got away with all this.

  3. My thoughts too. When you can’t find a mugshot or a clear shot of the drunk anywhere your Crook County detecto kit needs to be opened up.

Also, who owned this car? Who paid for the license plate and registration? Who paid for the insurance if any? In short who gave this deadly weapon to this scumbag?

  4. Like all democrat strongholds, Cook County is one of America’s ‘cancer’ cells.

  5. One of the odd public services performed by the palaeo crew was inventing the term ‘anarcho-tyranny’. Witless cross-subsidies and officious interference with the lives of ordinary people while basic functions like policing are done with the left hand.

This man should have been jailed long ago as a recidivist offender. A couple of years in the Cook County Jail would do. Or, we could revive corporal punishment: the birch, the rattan cane, and the pillory-and-stocks.

  6. It is interesting to see how difficult it is to find his photo. He’s dead now so I guess Illinois drivers are safe again. No thinks to the Crook County DA.

  8. The very black (thanks, Art Deco) vehicular killer was 44 years old. Forty-four!
He didn’t do no crimes, nah, none!

I am so sick of being both cynical and correct when I read stuff like this. I knew he was black, right away.

This news story puts a grotesque and stupid slant on its minimal news:
    https://abc7chicago.com/wrong-way-driver-involved-in-crash-that-killed-isp-trooper-idd/5229096/
“Toxicology results are pending” it says, on both the killer and the killed. As if there were any basis for suspecting toxins in the state trooper! Works to make the two appear equal, though one was pure human garbage and the other a valorous public servant.

Davies is an example why the N word has survived and been often correctly applied all these years.

Why does anyone, anyone let such garbage out loose and unimpeded, even a black female DA?

  9. Art Deco’s image appears to be the correct one. Possibly the Chicago NBC station didn’t want to carry Davies’s photo because, you know …

Cook County can be so proud of its Democrat party values. Concern for people’s lives isn’t among them.

  10. Cook County can be so proud of its Democrat party values. Concern for people’s lives isn’t among them.

The new black lesbian Mayor will have her “wife” introduced as “First Lady” of Chicago. How do they choose? Flip a coin?

  11. Cicero, Davies could just as easily have killed a black trooper or a black driver. There is no good excuse for excusing criminal behavior because of the criminal’s race. The vast majority of gunshot victims in Chicago are black, some of them innocent bystanders.

  12. Yes Kate as we have known for a long time it is black people themselves who suffer the most from the race hustling political mentality.

  13. There is no good excuse for excusing criminal behavior because of the criminal’s race.

There is this thing called “statistics.” Like the Bell Curve, people sometimes don’t like the facts and make up their own. If the inner city population is excluded, the US has less crime than Europe.

It does not appear that any “good” men (or women) were involved in the doing of nothing.

That’s the letter we read last week. The next one is from today.

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2019/04/04/police-chiefs-to-express-no-confidence-in-kim-foxx-n2544290?utm_campaign=inarticle

Days after Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx suddenly dropped all 16 felony charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett, letting him off scot-free, a group of police chiefs are showing her they vehemently disagree with her decision – and come to think of it, many other decisions too. On Thursday, The North Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police, which represents more than 30 North Suburban Cook County police departments, joined the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police to announce they have passed a “Vote of No Confidence” vote in her.

Duane Mellema, president of The North Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police, warned her of the vote in a letter, explaining the Smollett affair was just one of many grievances among the police. Or, as Mellema called it, “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

“The abrupt dropping of the 16 indictments against ‘Empire’ actor Jussie Smollett during an unannounced court hearing on March 26, 2019, is the latest and most egregious example of the failure by you and your staff to hold offenders accountable,” he writes.

Since Foxx took office in 2016, the police chiefs have received “contradictory guidance” on their felony review process, he continues. In particular, Mellema is baffled by Foxx’s decision not to prosecute marijuana offenders, or those guilty of retail theft.

“It appears your strategy to address non-violent crime in Cook County is to decriminalize or ignore it, regardless of any collateral cost which is born overwhelmingly by individual communities and their police forces,” Mellema concludes.

  16. To be dense about it… Did Davis get the Hillary/Jussie treatment merely because of his race — lather, rinse and repeat dozens of times?

Is the Chicago PD really that dysfunctional?

Or does Davis have some connections we don’t know about?

  17. It sounds like a lot of the kid glove treatment this crook got was outside Crook County but we might, just might, hear more.

  18. Leftists killing AMerican sheep and creating Revolutionary fervor out of it is kind of the point. That’s not unintended tragedies.

  19. Yesterday and today, the programmed digital signage spanning all lanes of I-88 and I-90 in Illinois made repeated mention of Trooper Gerald Ellis —specifically by name— “finishing his tour of duty” (not an exact quote, but close). I don’t think most ordinary drivers on those two Interstaes figured out what exactly that was all about. Pretty intense and pretty indicative of how deep into the covfefe we’re about to step. As well we should!

    hmmm…
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing and allow evil to seize the rudder allowing the actions of fools playing tragedians”

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing – but to really really do it well one needs to empower the wretched for some abstract ‘kindness'”

want to give it a shot?

  21. Black American Davies, never seriously punished despite many crimes, was let off lightly because so many Blacks are punished. So often. Because so many commit so many crimes.

That’s the behavior part of racism that Dems don’t want to talk about. Bad behavior by Blacks is the main reason living in a Black neighborhood is so lousy. Having children without being married is, statistically, terrible for Blacks.

Their bad behavior is not directly caused by racism, but the failure to punish them IS a failure of society because of a misguided effort to avoid punishing Blacks “too much”.

Similar to the school discipline issue — which even some true blue Dem teachers are starting to complain about. (What people really know about, they’re conservative about.)

Now that I think of it — a goal of US college is to make sure their grads don’t know anything, so they’re not conservative about anything. See Kurt for a bit of fun:

  22. The only alternative is to put someone in jail,”

Many times the solution is so obvious. Political Correctness kills too many!

  23. It didn’t use to be this way, even in Chicago. The Great Society was like a Holocaust for blacks. Destroyed the black family. When I was 18, my friends and I hung out in a black tavern called “Ella Mae Reed’s.” We were the only whites in there, We played bumper pool and always won. The other guys, all black, would line up to play us. Everybody was drinking. Never felt unsafe.

  24. It didn’t use to be this way, even in Chicago. The Great Society was like a Holocaust for blacks. Destroyed the black family.

The breakdown in the degree of order and durability in family relations occurred in every stratum of society between 1958 and 2010. The end-state was worse among blacks than among the rest. The thing is, the initial state was worse too, and the increase in the odds of various phenomena similar. N.B., the census of the TANF rolls is currently about 4 million, or 1.3% of the population. The census of the AFDC rolls in 1995 was about 12 million, or about 4.5% of the population. There’s been a dramatic decline in the number of single-mothers-and-ba*tard-children on state doles. The discernible effect on the share of children born illegitimate has been bupkis.

  26. Police can become corrupted and sometimes the justice system can lend a hand in that corruption, but police deal with a lot of b.s. and are expected to think clear at all times in the most stressful and bizarre situations. The most indignant minorities want police to have more training aka sensitive training yet such people never volunteer to change the police training curriculum.

  27. @ Mike K: Headlines tried to make the election of Lightfoot some grand accomplishment for the city, particularly pointing out that “Chicago is the largest city to elect the first African-American and openly gay woman.” So what. It means nothing in the long run, at least for those that know their value and have strong principles. Besides Jane Byrne was the first (white) female mayor for Chicago where females weren’t as established in the workplace, let alone politics, as they are now. This would be more of a storyline in, say, a mid-sized city in a red state somewhere in the South. I mean it wasn’t Lightfoot then it would be Preckwinkle.
