Our future? — 12 Comments

  1. Me and some of my friends were thinking about buying Greece, but maybe Detroit would be a better grab.

  2. Detroit is the prototypical example of decay (or negative progress) caused by corruption sponsored by dissociation of risk and responsibility.

  3. Soon we will have states facing the same choices. Illinois is in junk bond status. It has needed to reform its public pension system for 30 years. The same goes for California and many other states and cities. IMO, we have little reason to believe DC and many of the states and municipalities will change their ways. But the fault lies with the voters. Until voters wake up and think about the future of their children and grandchildren the overall fiscal situation will continue swirling down the drain.

  4. I’m kind of torn. Having Detroit’s face slapped like this and power taken away is kind of satisfying after all the crap local government there has done to destroy the city.

But I’m also uneasy about Gov. Snyder stripping powers from locally elected officials. Doesn’t that qualify as facism?

That is why I have said umpteen times that we cannot have universal suffrage. Only the most intelligent, educated, and responsible people can be allowed to vote. Universal suffrage will lead to disaster, each and every time. There is no way around that.

  6. The low information Democrat voters are like the rats pressing the bar for food. When the food stops coming they press more frantically.

  7. “When the food stops coming they press more frantically.”

When the food, and other benefits stop coming I will be even more glad I llive in flyover country

  8. The rats will gnaw on you and your children’s bones if the dispenser runs out. Remember that.
