Election got you stressed out? — 10 Comments

  1. Mmmmm.

We just got back from a week at the beach. I think I’ll go back.

  2. Excellent.

Reminds me of cook-outs on the beach in the Philippines when I was a yute and the sunsets on the beaches around Sydney in my later yute years.

Few sounds can equal it. Maybe winter winds in pines and a murder of crow arguing.

And rain on a tin roof – in a big featherbed with a perfumed female.

    But, I digress…

  3. You’re right, N-Neocon. It’s calming, settling, serene and peaceful.

Downside: A few minutes of it always makes me wanta pee. (-: Just sayin’…

  4. I live near the water and have recorded the sound of waves, plus various frogs and insects. I think my longest clip is only 15 minutes or so and have toyed with the idea of looping it for sleep. Not sure my wife would go for it. Not sure I wouldn’t wake up at 2 or so and have to turn it off. But I’ll probably try it sometime.

  5. Also, I think I would have to have better fidelity for it to work. This doesn’t really sound very close to real and neither do my recordings made with a little hand-held recorder.

  6. I can’t listen to water crashing when I take my Diuretics….Too dangerous !!

  7. Once, when we were taking one of our vacations in Spain, we camped overnight at Marbella … just about twenty or thirty feet from the high-tide line, and it was marvelous, to hear the sounds of the waves, splashing, all throught that night.

  8. I didn’t mean to sound dismissive–this is really nice, but I don’t think it would work for sleeping for me. I should try one of those cds of wave sounds.

  9. Light wind thru the high mountain pines is magic. Cicadas during mating(little devils)…Cowbells on the critters on alpine slopes in Central Switzerland.. Nightbirds calling from the trees along the Little Tennessee River in the Smokys of N.C.

WT*!! What is this ol’mountain guy from the west doing in Central Freaking Florida?!
