  1. Interestingly, Phil Bronstein, a noted liberal and former owner of the San Francisco Examiner, then V.P. and editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, and now an editor-at-large with the Hearst Co., published an editorial, which basically excoriated the media since their “love affair” with Barack Obama began, and their complete abandonment of journalism.

This is quite something coming from Bronstein, and is another signal that even many committed liberals are now questioning the enormous and speedy changes achieved by Obama and his Administration with the aid and complicity of
    a fauning media.

  2. The sorry fact is that I have never been so ‘politically’ depressed in my life.

I wonder if that is an affliction of the congenitally conservative/libertarian/liberal mindset.

Or is it my age? Am I now old enough to admonish the children that what they are playing with is dangerous?

My opinion is that legislators have too much time on their hands and get paid too much money. If making laws is ones full-time job, way too many laws are going to be made simply because one must justify his/her existence and paycheck.

My disgust of journalists (and especially their editors) was earned in my days spent as a typesetter and proofreader where the orders from on high were carried out… I’m not proud of my time there except for the few that I spoke out. None of which did my so-called “career” any good.

From the early ’70s I have known that what one reads in any journalistic effort is not to be trusted unless the facts can be verified by a third party.

Yet even in those days was a certain journalistic pride in uncovering the truth. It has almost completely disappeared except for amateur blogs, the authors being too stupid and inexperienced to know the “rules”.

I wish I were writing one of those blogs. I’m not. I’m not a journalist, I’m not even a writer. I blog for my own enjoyment, not caring in the least whether anyone reads it or not.
