Human jello — 9 Comments

  1. this makes no sense to me

first one gets chastised for not using the entire “animal” in the commercial process then when it happens (seems like getting gelatin is in itself being resourceful) the crazies next want to desensitize us to cannibalism– also, a burning pig smells like a hawaiian luau whereas burning human smells like…-

regardless, there must be something to this zombie buzz going on today

  2. Where is Charlton Heston when we need him?

Det. Thorn: It’s people. Jell-O is made out of people. They’re making our food out of people. Next thing they’ll be breeding us like cattle for food. You’ve gotta tell them. You’ve gotta tell them!

Hatcher: I promise, Tiger. I promise. I’ll tell the exchange.

Det. Thorn: You tell everybody. Listen to me, Hatcher. You’ve gotta tell them! Jell-O is people! We’ve gotta stop them somehow!

Paraphrasing last lines of Soylent Green

  3. This may be the start of a trend.

Now, you can continue to protect your home and family even after you are gone.

    (hat tip Ace of Spades)

  4. Indigo Red beat me to it; I immediately thought of Heston yelling “Soylent Green is ipeople!

I’ve never liked Jello in the first place, but this is a whole new level of disgusting.

  5. Actually, there is nothing material derived from humans in gene-recombinant yeast produced gelatin – only information about gene sequencies coding human gelatin. It is built anew from amino acids by yeast cells with human gene inserted into their genome. And the human genes in these cells are just copies of original human gene.

  6. There is nothing new ib using human genes in producing drugs: human recombinant insulin and human growth hormon are on the market for decades. Previously they also were derived from pigs.

  7. The technique of recombinant DNA is now so cheap that it can be used not only by pharmaceutical companies, but by food industry too. All so-called GMO products are produced by million tonnes, and human genes can be used in this industry just as well.

  8. Sergey,,,,,,, all that may be true but I don’t think I will be buying any of this stuff.

    “Soylent Green is people!”

  9. I’m with Sergey on this. It’s certainly less yucky than growing organs from stem cells.
