I’ve never liked Jello in the first place, but this is a whole new level of disgusting.
Actually, there is nothing material derived from humans in gene-recombinant yeast produced gelatin – only information about gene sequencies coding human gelatin. It is built anew from amino acids by yeast cells with human gene inserted into their genome. And the human genes in these cells are just copies of original human gene.
There is nothing new ib using human genes in producing drugs: human recombinant insulin and human growth hormon are on the market for decades. Previously they also were derived from pigs.
The technique of recombinant DNA is now so cheap that it can be used not only by pharmaceutical companies, but by food industry too. All so-called GMO products are produced by million tonnes, and human genes can be used in this industry just as well.
