And then there’s Obamacare — 11 Comments

  1. Not surprised Obamacare would be pushed on the incarcerated. The left wants to get free/subsidized care to all of their constituents so that it will be all the more difficult for Republicans to overturn and take away their benefits.

Having the ‘rich’ pay for health care for criminals (as opposed to society at large in the given state) makes it even sweeter for Obama and his ilk.

  2. Wes…

    They’re NOT getting 0-care.

    They’re getting Medicaid — classic.

Being in prison/ jail all that is changing is the payor. Instead of the state budget it’s destined to be re-billed back to DC.

One aspect of this is that Barry figures that, net, net, net, he’s taking $$$ from Whitey and giving it to his crew.

He’s a racist. He sees everything in racial terms.

Like Dinkins, he’s destined to leave a permanent mark.

  3. I don’t know how it nets out.
If Federal inmates, all felons, shift to Medicaid (will they?), they would no longer be “cared for” by the Feds. That cost would presumably be shifted to the state in which the prison is located. Federal moneys would cover a minority of those increased Medicaid costs.

State and local inmates are, I believe, the financial burdens of those states and localities. Their budgets might welcome a partial cost-shifting to Federal Medicaid moneys.

So something is up, I agree, but I do not have a clue as to how it nets out.

It flat leaves a bad taste in my mouth that Medicaid (allegedly care for the deserving Needy hahaha) should extend to criminals, but we live in a pretty nutty society anyway. We sew ’em up, nothing’s too good for ’em so’s we can get ’em back on death row to while away the decades, all on our $.

  4. Hi. Yeah. Felon Jack here.

Uhmm, Obama has been so kind as to give me lots of stuff. I’m gonna help him back.

He gave me this brown shirt. He told me to hit you if he don’t like you.

    I will.

  5. For those not aware: at this time the Federal budge is paying states 100% of their Medic-aid budgets — if they have played ball on 0-care — setting up 0-care ‘exchanges.’

Of course, that last word is pure new-speak, since the exchange normally only has one, maybe two, ‘suppliers’ — vendors of health insurance. (0-care approved)

In sum, Barry is unilaterally dipping into the stash to buy votes from ‘felons and families.’

    What a plan!

There can be no difference in the provision of health care. The felons are still treated, by doctors, the same old way.

  6. “Let us feed at that trough, too! Our special interest group is very, very special!”

    You nailed it!

  7. The thing is, unions’ entreaties will come to naught absent a miracle because they have no leverage whatsoever against Obama. What are they going to do, tell their members to vote Republican?
The best they can do is threaten to stay home on election night.

The type of socialism inflicted on America has only one outcome: a stagnant (if not shrinking) pie. We’re seeing the interest groups starting to fight for their slice, but there’s only so much to go around.
In that atmosphere, you’d better have some leverage before you go into negotiations.
Especially with declining membership, unions have little leverage.

I think Obama made the calculation some time ago to shift priority over to the greens. The unions just don’t know it yet.

  8. Matt-
Trouble is, the greens are so much more vicious and dangerous than unions. Just look at last night’s Democratic Climate Night in the Senate. Insanity with Power. Pacific smelts over people.
We are close to seeing the greens on their own jihad: Death to Deniers.

  9. Us old-timers remember when the Kennedy brothers were after the Teamsters and the Teamsters did tell their members to vote Republican. I think in the secrecy of the voting booth, a lot of them still do. I can also remember the hard hats on the street battling the anti-Vietnam War protesters.

Perhaps the complete clusterfrack of Barrycare will give us an opportunity to pick up some union voters? I was surprised we didn’t in 2008, given the One’s obvious total disdain for actual working people, but we didn’t make much of it and play on it enough to overcome the MSM’s suppresion. Which is something we absolutely must do in 2014 and probably 2016 (I have this terrible premonition that Ms. One is going to grab the Dem’s nomination) as well.
