As we reported earlier, socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) made even more of a fool of herself than she normally does after trying to make an “arrest” video from the steps of the Supreme Court Tuesday look more dramatic than it actually was, holding her hands behind her as she was being escorted away, making it appear at first that she was handcuffed even though she wasn’t.

AOC’s arrest was one of 16 arrests made on Democratic members of Congress including fellow radicals Cori Bush (Mo.) and Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) by the Capitol Police in front of our nation’s highest court as they “protested” the June ruling from the SCOTUS that overturned Roe v. Wade.

Another member of the so-called Squad, Ilhan Omar (Minn.), was also arrested. In initial reports, WCCO (Minneapolis) anchor Esme Murphy said that a Facebook video showed “a woman who appears to be Rep Omar in handcuffs”…

Murphy later proclaimed that Omar’s staff “confirmed” it was indeed video of Omar “under arrest and in handcuffs.”

“Staff confirms this is video of Rep @ilhanmn under arrest and in handcuffs, she and other female Members were arrested in a protest supporting abortion rights in front of the Supreme Court today,” she tweeted.

Except if you check the very end of the video, you see that Omar raised one of her hands high in the air in solidarity with the crowd.

Just call her Ilhan Houdini.

  1. Politics as theater. AOC was recruited to run for that seat in an audition of many females. The guy who ran the audition process if the Indian guy wearing the Chandra Rose tee shirt. I think he was her “chief of staff” also known as ventriloquist.

  5. AOC gets elected because her district is small, and she has great funding; Always looking chic, well-groomed, she is the new face of the young Democratic party. But she’s an empty suit; she doesn’t have a message to convey, she has no inspiring life story. An upper-middle-class white kid with a Latin background who grew up fitting in, and now has discovered a way to market her inner Latina.

    Well, good for her! It’s the American way – but sooner or later she has to do something constructive. So far her only accomplishment has been running Amazon and a bunch of job opportunities out of her district. They went to Hoboken, instead. The only other things she’s accomplished have been the pictures: Anguished photos in front of an empty parking lot fence at the Detention Center, some blotchy angry faces in the House when she doesn’t get her way, histrionics when some jape gets under her skin by commenting on her Hot Tamale Latina Booty, illegally parking her Tesla in front of Whole Foods, and now, faked arrests (in top fashions). Who’s going to be impressed with this when they can’t afford food and gas, and are out of work?

    She’s what every Republican hopes for in a Democrat opponent.

  13. Her election and re-election were in elections with less than 25% turnout. The voters in the district obviously don’t care who represents them. Omar was booed at a Somali convention but get elected.

  14. Esme Murphy is the only TV reporter in the Twin Cities that Ilhan Omar Nur will actually speak with. Murphy only throws softballs and has never pressed Nur on any controversies.

    Once upon a time if “staff” confirmed details that were shown to be clearly false, the reporter would “burn” the source. Nowadays that doesn’t happen, and WCCO doesn’t want their downtown offices burned.

Mike K, the Somali machine can deliver thousands of votes out of the highrises known as “Little Mogadishu.” Minneapolis is 70 percent Democrats, and they’re the type of Democrats that would never not vote for an oppressed victim like Omar. Such a move could get them frozen out of the Unitarian group.

    If true, that’s worse than Jan6.

  25. The strongest congressional candidate in every election is the incumbent. You have to do something really, really bad to mess that up. Doing nothing much is not such a something. AOC and Omar (and Tlaib & Pressley) will be in office for as long as they want – or until a powerful fellow Democrat decides they need to go.
