Biden has a way with words — 35 Comments

  1. Who’s the grinningly loathsome sycophant so ready to praise Biden’s speech and stab Israel with calumny? Some new Senator, I assume?

  2. President Biden: “I told him, (Corn-Pop), and don’t repeat this, but you and I are going to have a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting.”

“I’m on a hot mic here. Good. That’s good.”

Comments on X worth a look

  3. And one further question, if I may: to whom is the “. . . and don’t repeat this . . .” addressed? His [unknown to me] interlocutor, or Bibi? Since some transcriptions seem to go the one way, and others, another?

  4. It’s a ( that someone experiences) a come to Jesus moment; i.e. when all options and rationalizations fail

Typically, the dog faced pony soldier in chief, can keep his metaphors neither straight nor separated.

  5. DNW:

Neither straight nor separated nor appropriate to the listener – in this case, Netanyahu.

  6. sdferr:

I think it was to the person to whom he was talking at the moment of the live mike.

  7. He beats them with a crowbar till they give up meaning

The son of the leading inquisition historian would not be amused

  8. I agree, neo, at least on the strength of my first take, after which I encountered others’ contrary interpretation, pulling me up short. Doesn’t make sense for Biden to warn Bibi off repeating it, but then “Biden” and “make sense” don’t comport so well either.

  9. While I’m at it: There was a 1950s movie called Pony Soldier starring actor Tyrone Power. A Technicolor potboiler about the RCMP

There was a Cheyenne warrior society called “Dog Soldiers” according to standard Western lore.

And finally there is the climactic shootout in Shane wherein Alan Ladd refers to Jack Wilson as a lowdown Yankee … You all know the rest.

All the Chief Fabulator did was mix and match pieces in a way that seemed convenient at the moment.

And as regards Plains Indians, some may find this scene from a series I never saw, but which in part reiterates history some of us know, to be interesting or even informative. Allowing for dramatic license.

Nelson Miles has an exchange of views with Sitting Bull.

    Yes, you are correct.

And in addition I forgot to add “lying” to “dog faced pony soldier in chief”

Want to give the man full credit, after all.

  11. Sdferr: the obsequious loser Biden is sharing a secret with is Sen. Michael Bennet, D-CO. What a disgusting display from all involved. I hope this results in Bibi wiping all of Gaza off the planet. Jordan’s King can F off.

  12. I believe that, nypost [dot] com, says that- the Joe Biden campaign is now running TV ads, that claim…or hint…that “Donald Trump is working with the KKK”.

    What BALONEY!

    Oh, yeah, right.

…And Trump is also working with: JAMES BOND, Joe Stalin, Batman, and Superman, and good-old Wonder Woman!

    What nonsense.

That the Democrats are throwing the wildest, and silliest, accusations at Trump- shows that they have run out of ways to support Joe Biden in [the 2024, Presidential election].

  13. From a plausibly Christian Republican or conservative, this would be the hate speech freakout of the day, or week.

  14. “Speaking of hyperactive imaginations:
Robert De Niro: If Donald Trump Wins, ‘He’ll Come Looking for Me’…”

    *snicker*

    Ha!

    I think you’re right, Banned Lizard. 🙂

I think the actor, Robert De Niro, has seen, “Goodfellas”, too many times! 😀

( Drat. I mispelled my pen-name. My pen-name is, “TR”, on this site.)

  15. bennett’s grandfather was a state department division chief under kennedy if memory serves, bibi’s grandfather was one of the original zionists,

  16. The only value in paying attention to anything this loathsome excuse for a human being says is for possible insight into the thinking of his handlers.

Regardless of his clear disbelief in any kind of accounting to God in the afterlife, in the not too distant future, Biden is sure to have what is likely to be a very brief “come to Jesus moment”. Something he shall richly deserve.

  17. “…a way with words…”
(Better use the RIGHT ones, though…or at least not use the wrong ones. Insane and uncontrolled rancor directed at half the population, or more, is perfectly acceptable, of course; not to mention one’s desire to annihilate the Jewish State and threaten anyone who might deign to support it…)

    Anyway, here’s a little Sunday recursivity…
“Canceled for writing about cancel culture?’\”—

Hmmm. Should one wonder that if Orwell had known that in the future, “1984” would be used as a “How-To” manual, would he have written it?

File under: “Cancel this!”…(to paraphrase Travis Bickle)

  18. I was busy last night watching UNC beat Duke, at Duke, so late commenting here.

Is it possible that Biden is so stupid as to think his choice of language was appropriate, even if it hadn’t been a hot mic?

And I agree with Geoffrey Britain, above. Biden treats his own religion with so much disrespect that his (no joking) moment meeting his Lord may not be as pleasant as he might hope for.

  19. well he was writing from the island of jura, extrapolating patterns of the bbc world service, borrowing from fmr trotskyite james burnham ‘the machiavellians*, and other elements, mr jones suggests that orwell got his notion for animal farm from his experience with duranty and stalin

*the last I gleaned from hitchens,
yes shamblings minders show extraordinary carelessness,

  20. Biden doesn’t give any good reason, or really any reason, for why an assault on Rafah would “cross a red line.” He says we can’t have another 30,000 deaths, accepting the Hamas death count as honest and accurate.

t remember it was a scandal when bibles were found in afganistan sarc

  23. Robert De Niro: If Donald Trump Wins, ‘He’ll Come Looking for Me’

Bob, you’re not that important. You played pretend for a living. If you’re remembered at all, it will be for mouthing other people’s words.

  24. Concise and to the point….
    “A President in Panic Mode”—
    https://freebeacon.com/biden-administration/a-president-in-panic-mode/

(Except that I don’t think that “Biden” is panicking—“he”‘s just preparing the ground for the next stage of cementing “his” takeover of the country.
Think of it as just another “softening up” operation…keeping in mind that in order to “meet the threat” you first have to create it, isolate it, zoom in on it, magnify it, and then…neutralize it…. In addition, taking down Bibi, or trying to, is a brilliant distraction from “his” destruction of America….)

  25. @ miguel – I had to look twice at the headline of your ynet link.

“West concerned over Iranian nuclear bomb in IAEA meeting”
