Why is Eric Adams being investigated?
Adams may indeed be guilty of something, but there are other Democrats who probably are guilty of something and are not being pursued by the feds. Why Adams?:
The FBI seized the phones of New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Friday. The move came as part of a sweeping investigation into a donor scheme in which the Turkish government and others allegedly illegally funneled money into Adams’ 2021 political campaign.
The mayor’s top fundraiser, Brianna Suggs, had her home raided on November 2nd as part of the probe. One of the factors being looked at is whether Adams offered kickbacks to a Turkish construction company. At the time, the New York Times reported that there was no “indication” that the mayor himself was a target of the probe. That dynamic has apparently changed. …
Some are suggesting that Adams is being targeted because of his outspoken opposition to the Biden administration’s immigration policies. …
In September, Adams gave a speech in which he suggested that New York City would collapse if illegal immigration wasn’t curtailed.
In addition, Adams spoke out very strongly in mid-October in favor of Israel and against Hamas. I wonder whether that might have been a factor, too.
Recall also that Senator Menendez of New Jersey, a Democrat who was investigated and recently indicted (and may indeed also be guilty), has long been a critic of the Obama/Biden Iran deal, perhaps the only Democrat who can claim that status. He also a few weeks before his arrest had been critical of Biden’s money-for-prisoners swap with Iran.
One wonders.

I really shouldn’t be cynical, but a weaponized DOJ is just going to do what it was weaponized to do… enforce the administration’s will.

This comes in the same week that the FBI gets its expensive and massive new headquarters, another state tries to drop Trump from the ballot, and a paramilitary FBI SWAT team raids the home of the New Jersey Jan. 6 guy. I wonder how much more police state behavior we’ll get as the election approaches.

Apparently you can be against illegal immigration, or in favor of Israel, but not both.

What is happening to Adams is frightening and depressing. I actually have a bit of sympathy, but that is tempered by my view of his naivete. Just like the previous post where the discussion about the liberal Jews expecting cover for their previous support of all things left, Adam’s may have made the same mistake.
If the liberal Jew is having a red pill moment, I wonder if what is happening to Adam’s will have a similar effect on the run of the mill liberal?
If you had posted something like this ten years ago, I would have been quite skeptical. ‘Let’s not descend down the rabbit hole of conspiracy’, I would have cautioned.
Today, I no longer can hold such a lofty default position. Reality so often is more disturbing than many conspiracy theories of late. I refuse to rule out much of anything
Occam’s Razor suggests it’s because he’s corrupt. An ex-cop from NYC? No question about it.

He may very well be corrupt, but that’s not the issue. A Democrat/Left weaponized FBI would ignore such corruption if Adam’s toed the line. He may have crossed it, so he’s now expendable.
Simple: pursue to discourage anti-illegal-immigrant positions, while simultaneously demonstrating “non-partisanship”. No prosecution, of course. Not everyone is as stupid as Joe.

If the Feds prosecuted corruption in Chicago, you could fit the unprosecuted members of Chicago’s city government, state legislators from Chicago, and US Congressmen from Chicago- in a 10X15 room. 🙂

It is puzzling as corruption seems pretty common in NYC politicians. I seem to remember Deblasio (Warren Wilhelm Jr) and something about the horse stables. I suspect he is paying for his big mouth.
