Jamall Bowman: pulling the fire alarm and then pulling our legs? — 29 Comments

  1. I agree with Cornhead. I mean it looks like an insurrection to me. They should also immediately Restore him to not being a congressman by ejecting him. They won’t but they should.

  2. He is a liberal progressive; this alone qualifies him to be exempt from about 90% of all laws that ordinary folks must abide with.

He is also a black man, which boosts his black “privilege” exemption in regards to laws applying to him to about 95%.

As for the remaining 5% of laws that he is not exempt from, then the media, the DOJ , FBI and any other law “enforcement” agency will find a way to excuse, pardon or otherwise have disappear his malfeasance.

Oh, by the way; here in the USA everybody is equal under the law, except some people are more equal than others.
I figured I would toss that in here , just to remind everybody.

  3. context is critical, provoking a panic considering the circumstances that have been rehashed again and again for the last two and a half years,

  4. The behavior sets like this one will continue, and get worse – because there are no consequences that would inform any sense of meaningful deterrence.

There is no reason to have fear when there are no consequences. And as we can all see, there is already no sense of forbearance or respect for social norms that are the supporting structure of a trusting society. There is only opportunity, with no pain to the downside.

  5. The shamelessness of the lie from Bowman illustrates yet again that many of the Democrats are operating in bad faith. You could lump the Trump fraud case into the same bad faith basket as this.

I’d been willing for the GOP to negotiate such things as budget resolutions etc. with the Democrats to stay within the so-called “norms” of political discourse. But this stunt and the bald-faced lying to excuse it is just one more lesson that it is impossible to negotiate when the other side is operating in bad faith.

To hell with it then — blow it up. Shut down the government and leave it shut. A government that spends our tax money to develop viruses that come back to make us sick and kill a million of us, and then lie to us about the whole thing, ought to be shut down for good anyway.*

*Full Disclosure: I currently have COVID so I’m extra pissed…..

  6. The Babylon Bee quotes Buffalo Guy as kicking himself for not thinking of Bowman’s little stunt: “Seriously? I could have just pulled the fire alarm instead of going to all the trouble to dress like a buffalo and charge into the Capitol?” said an aghast Buffalo Guy. “Gosh, do I feel silly.”

Buffalo Guy, known in some circles as Jacob Chansley, watched yesterday as Representative Jamaal Bowman demonstrated how to properly and legally commit a crime to delay Congressional proceedings. “So you pull the fire alarm, and then come up with some ridiculous excuse, like you thought the fire alarm was a doorknob,” explained Mr. Bowman. “You could even say that you have lived your whole life under the impression that pulling a fire alarm is how you select Nacho Cheese Doritos out of the vending machine. It doesn’t matter. They can have you on video committing the crime, and as long as you explain you’re too dumb to understand what a fire alarm is, you’re good to go! Have at it destroying Congress!”

  7. pikkumatti says, “Shut down the government and leave it shut. A government that spends our tax money to develop viruses that come back to make us sick and kill a million of us, and then lie to us about the whole thing, ought to be shut down for good anyway.”

To add insult to injury– you’ll never guess who just won the Nobel Prize in Medicine and why it was awarded to them: Hungarian-American Katalin Karikó and American Drew Weissman were cited for contributing “to the unprecedented rate of vaccine development during one of the greatest threats to human health,” according to the panel that awarded the prize in Stockholm. The panel said the pair’s “groundbreaking findings … fundamentally changed our understanding of how mRNA interacts with our immune system.”

  8. Re: Bowman

This guy isn’t going to walk, but what will happen ain’t exactly clear.

It will be a test of the Democrat Crime Family. What does the Consigliere say?

Who is the Consigliere? Obama is more the Godfather. I wish I knew. Maybe it’s a hive mind.

  9. Jamaal is an obvious black, based simply on his absurd name, no photo needed.
And blacks at 13% of the population have somehow become the new Uberklasse. Though their median household income is substantially less than that of non-blacks, TV commercials feature blacks 50% of the time. Thanks, CEOs, for adhering to DEI and CRT so assiduously.

  10. Put it this way… which inflicted more harm – fake fire alarm or point-blank death shot? Nuff’ said.

  11. “it is impossible to negotiate when the other side is operating in bad faith. pikkumatti

Bad faith relies upon the absence of proportionate consequence.

  12. We might be at the point Leftists get caught and don’t care because there won’t be any punishment for their actions. Just bull shit them and it all goes away.

  13. The guy was a high school principle, so I find the idea that he is dumb enough to mistake the fire alarm for a door opener to be at least somewhat plausible. As a school admin, he has at least an M. Ed .
    Remember the litany:
If a cirricula has the word “science” or “sciences” in its title, there is no science in the cirricula.
If a cirrcula has the word “studies” in its title, it requires no studying by its students.
A B.A. in education is 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th grades, with “social promotion”. A graduate degree in education is a participation trophy.

  14. Wow! From the office of Jamaal Bowman, suggested talking points:
    _______________________________________

I believe Congressman Bowman when he says this was an accident. Republicans need to instead focus their energy on the Nazi members of their party before anything else.

There are multiple insurrectionist supporters in Congress and more who supported a coup and support Trump?s Big Lie. That?s what they should be focused on. Instead their focus on Rep. Bowman is an attempt to minimize January 6th.

    Jussie Smollett doubled down too.

  15. The Five Rules of Propaganda

    1. The rule of simplification – reducing all data to a simple confrontation between ‘Good and Bad’, ‘Friend and Foe’.
    2. The rule of disfiguration – discrediting the opposition by crude smears and parodies.
    3. The rule of transfusion – manipulating the consensus values of the target audience for one’s own ends.
    4. The rule of unanimity – presenting one’s viewpoint as if it were unanimous opinion of all right-thinking people: draining the doubting individual into agreement by the appeal of star-performers, by social pressure , and by ‘psychological contagion’.
    5. The rule of orchestration – endlessly repeating the same messages in different variations and combinations.

  16. This was just pathetic. The act itself and the ‘explanation’. It is a clear example of the clown world we now live in. Bowman acts like a spoiled 12 year old who didn’t study for his math test, gets caught and then makes multiple statements offering such a BS explanation it would truly be laughable…if he were actually a 12 year-old and not a member of our federal legislature. I appreciate *some* of the MSM are calling him out; but that he has anyone publicly defending him is beyond depressing.

This is the state of our country at present; I only expect more decline, more incidents much like this one

  17. Funny he brought nazis into a completely unrelated situation….unless he thought he was in the Reichstag.

  18. A later memo from Bowman’s office took back the “Nazi” comment. I guess it was going too far. Everything else still stands as is.

  19. I hope everyone realizes that we are ruled–not “governed”–by people such as Bowman. Every white man in this country is legally subservient to the entire black population. It is “affirmative action,” after all. By which I mean the actual, legal subjugation of every white man to every colored person, whether black, brown or anything in between (since the “one drop rule” allows the entire Constitution to be turned on its head). But wait! There’s more! White men are also subservient to women of ALL colors! Otherwise, it’s sexism or misogyny, don’t you know, totally illegal now. And yet, these white men generally continue to work, pay taxes, raise families, serve in the military and refrain from criminal conduct, unlike their colored betters. How ironic.

  20. Those in schools that can’t teach and have no principles

    ….

work strenuously to marginalize and neuter parents.

  21. Though their median household income is substantially less than that of non-blacks, TV commercials feature blacks 50% of the time. Thanks, CEOs, for adhering to DEI and CRT so assiduously.

You recall the apocryphal tale about the business executive who said that half his advertising budget is wasted, he just did not know which half. Here’s an idea: ad agency employees are ‘creative’ types out to please themselves, not serve the interests of their clients. They garner revenue by hustling those clients, in large measure because advertising has no effect beyond establishing a brand and reminding people it’s still there.

  22. Bowman acts like a spoiled 12 year old

He’s a lapsed school administrator (with a vociferous hostility to standardized tests). You expect him to be astute? You expect him to be a square shooter?
