Whistleblowers and agency intimidation: IRS and FBI — 27 Comments

  1. For the IRS, the DOJ, and the FBI it’s become a corruption death spiral. They have to do corrupt things to cover up all the corrupt things they’ve done. Their sins are so great that they have to intimidate and silence whistleblowers.

And they have to do everything they possibly can to prevent any sort of new regime from coming in to power who might bring accountability for all their blatant abuses of power.

Their worst nightmare is if a Trump or a DeSantis were to somehow become president along with a Republican majority in both houses. Seems like a long shot, but if that were to somehow happen not only would their jobs be in jeopardy, but they could even be prosecuted for all the treacherous things they’ve done over the years. They have to stop that at all costs (which is obviously a huge reason for the ceaseless lawfare on Trump). Failing that they have to at least ensure that they have enough dirt on whomever ends up in power that they can intimidate out of going after them.

  2. These whistleblowers’ stories are chilling. The Deep State is willing to destroy lives to stay in power.

  3. Turley yet again.
    Not giving up.
    Not backing down.
Has some ideas on how the tables might yet be turned against the Democratic Party/Deep State juggernaut against the American People.

A key question is, how long with the FBI—and “Biden”—be allowed to get away with all these coverups, lies and massive obstruction.

  4. The Eff Bee Eye has moved to protect the Deep State, and won’t be charged as long as the Democrats have the government which might be for a long time with vote fraud, protection from the Feds and complete coverage from the Propaganda Ministry

Yes. Joe Biden, too. I think that was a major motivation for him running in 2020.

  6. Turley, Andrew McCarthy, even Jake Tapper (well, to some extent).
It seems that with his report, Durham has nudged—and perhaps even stomped on—the snowpack.
Will this thing become an avalanche?
(And even if so, will it—once again—be big enough to matter?)
    Here’s William Barr:
    ‘ Former AG Barr: Durham report clears Trump, investigation an ‘abomination’;
‘ “Both the press and the FBI abandoned any semblance of professionalism and took up the cause with a vengeance,” Barr added.’—

Though once again, while “took up the cause with a vengeance” is really pretty good, “abandoned any semblance of professionalism”—quibble alert—should really be “embraced, promoted and participated to the hilt in partisan criminality”.

Nonetheless, this is a sea change…even if he did say, following Robby Mook’s testimony at the Danchenko trial, something to the effect—IIRC—that if Clinton had in fact launched the Steele Dossier, then that would undoubtedly be a criminal act.

And so, are we in “awaken a sleeping giant” territory?

  7. I just followed up from my comment this morning on the open thread…no MSM reporting that I can find on the hearing or the FBI whistleblowers….nothing!

Apparently, Disney scrapping its Lake Nona office project is more important story than the corruption at the FBI as they are all spinning it as DeSantis’ fault. Never mind that the company is in the middle of a large cost cutting action and the $1billion project would not be revenue producing.

  8. “I think that was a major motivation for him running in 2020.”
…And an even greater motivation for him to win.**
And—WOWIE!—he “won” with a “RECORD NUMBER OF VOTES”!!!

** Though, truth to tell, there was, ultimately, an even GREATER motivation to “win”…than merely covering up the blatant criminality of the Biden Mafia.

  9. yes the mouse has turned rat, recall they are still pretending the pulse terrorist attack now come up on it’s 7th anniversary, was not committed by an islamist,

  10. Hold on!
Aren’t the Democrats SUPPOSED to be the party that CHAMPIONS whistleblowers?

    (I’m so old I can remember when…)

  11. seeing as mueller and weld had the cat seat there up in Boston,

  12. Now this might seem like a silly question, but under what authority can the Department of Justice call a halt to the investigative / administrative work that is conducted within the Department of Treasury, and under their direction? I’d need to understand the line-of-sight on that set of steps before I’d believe such a tale is accurate. Is it some kind of team assignment in support of a DOJ investigation?

  13. So, I think I remember a time when the Deep State was an arm of the Uniparty. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. So, I think we should call the Deep State the DEMOCRAT Deep State from now on. What frightens me is how people just can’t SEE what is happening. I’m really hurt and saddened by the people today who think tolerance is only one way, that freedom is good, but just not for everyone and the Constitution is a piece of paper that has to be worked around. I’ve been coming to realizing this for awhile, I wonder how long Bill Maher has been going through his realization.

  14. I have typically been skeptical of the lurid accusations about organized pedophilia rings among American “elites”.

But as I look at the lengths to which the media and the Democrats are willing to stonewall the public awareness of recent revelations from Durham and concerning evidence from the Biden laptop and Treasury banking records, I have to ask myself, what could compel the media and so many politicians to commit such brazen acts of sophistry, ones that may well destroy their credibility?

It is tempting to assume that there is something far, far worse than the current accusations that these many actors are hiding by lying and committing perjury, and it is becoming ever more possible that my skepticism was completely naive.

  15. The Whistle Blower Protection Act of 1989 apparently doesn’t apply to the FBI. At least they don’t think it does. That’s why these whistleblowers have been retaliated against. The Fibbies and the Dems are calling these men traitors and worse. They have been horribly abused and it’s not clear that Congress can do much to help them.

There are probably many agents who could make complaints but are nearing retirement and don’t want to risk their pensions. It’s the “golden handcuffs” syndrome. The treatment of these whistleblowers is a warning to any others out there.
    It sickens me.

Reform the FBI? Send the top officials packing. Cut the DC office down to size and put the branch offices under the supervision of the Federal Attorneys for the respective districts. Keep a minder who works for the SCOTUS in the DC headquarters to ensure as little bias and political activity as possible. Or abolish the FBI and start over? whatever needs to be done, it won’t be easy.

  17. It’s looking more and more like the entire federal government must collapse, totally and completely, and become financially destitute before any progress can be made cleaning up agencies like the FBI and IRS.

  18. It’s not surprising really. Our government has simply reached monopoly status, with not enough room between dems and pubies to discern a difference.

And, as with all monopolies, it no longer needs to be ‘best’ at anything. It only needs to stay big. Nothing can be best when it is ‘only’.

    Think on it.

  19. Nonapod gets it: The Deep State is now a cornered animal, willing to take extreme actions to protect itself.

Those extreme actions may include the smoke screens of an open border and drag show story times.

  20. My daughter, who is a lefty and an FBI agent for 20 years, refuses to read the articles I send her about FBI corruption. She retires in a year. She is a devoted daughter but blind to the political corruption.

  21. “FBI obtained Americans’ bank records without subpoena”

    Class action suit against BofA.
From the story, BofA took the initiative, collected the data and offered it to the FBI. The feebs should have known better, and there may well be some punitive action that can be taken against the agents involved, but this sure looks like an egregious violation of privacy, and probably unlawful https://www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/supmanual/cch/priv.pdf. We know that they aren’t going to charge themselves, so nailing BofA’s hide to the wall will help discourage this kind of behavior. In an ideal world, the individuals in both the bank and agency would be criminally charged. I can dream…
