  1. Videos like this one are the reasons I LOVE this blog so much. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I can’t take it anymore.
    I need some humor…
Hmm… A bit feeble, but it will have to do…

    Of course there’s always this…but…um,no, don’t think so…
“Rand Paul slams Moderna CEO on failing to concede to studies on rare heart inflammation due to vaccine”—

    Maybe this?
“Emergency Motion Claims FBI Didn’t Disclose Informant Inside Proud Boys Defense Team”—

    Um, no, suppose not…
Guess we’ll just have to settle for something heroic…

  3. A whole new ball game: the Savannah Bananas, an exhibition team in the city that Sherman made famous: the team’s on-field antics include male cheerleaders in kilts, a dancing umpire, and a mascot named (what else?) Split. The first-base coach is a dancing instructor who teaches the players all kinds of moves. The team owner’s goal is to make baseball fun again:

I’ll let Neo judge the quality of the Bananas’ corps de ballet.

  4. I felt that dancing and flying were two ways of getting to the same state.

People don’t understand how flying and dancing can be similar, but they do something to you.

I think anything that you do with every particle of yourself can be wonderful,
and it can make you forget the world. It’s magic. How the heck am I supposed to describe it?

Something happens. It takes everything you have got.

  5. This guy would make a good surfer.

I always thought that snow skiing at a good level was like dancing with the mountain.

A modest mogul field was very much like dancing but with a more contrived piece of the mountain.

When I was much younger, on occasion I would ski a whole 2,000 ft. mountain in one shot at speed. That was the real deal.

  6. I can relate to Stuart. When skiing and flying you become one with the skis and/or the machine. And you lose yourself in the experience. I think it’s called flow. When you experience it, it’s the top of the world.

Stuart didn’t say it, but I’m sure he would agree. When you earn your living doing something that you love, you never feel like it’s work. It’s getting paid to do what you enjoy. And you are one lucky human being.

I was never good at dancing, but I can see how it is like flying for those who have that talent. Wow, to do a performance at 92. That’s AMAZING!

I salute Stuart for being the voice of we fortunate old codgers who look back on our lives and say, “Thank you God.”

  7. “…Bananas…”
Sounds like a reincarnation of Bill Veeck…
(OTOH, it’s really too bad that MLB has brought baseball to such a state that it has to be made “fun again”.)

  8. And for those of us who sorely miss “Spy vs. Spy”…
“The ‘Ordinary’ Family At No 35: Suspected Russian Spies Await Trial In Slovenia”—
    https://blazingcatfur.ca/2023/03/25/the-ordinary-family-at-no-35-suspected-russian-spies-await-trial-in-slovenia/
    Key grafs:
‘ …[E]arly in December, Mayer and Gisch were the targets of one of the most secretive and well-coordinated police and intelligence operations in Slovenia’s recent history.
‘ Officers swarmed the house, arresting the couple and taking their two children into social care. Police also raided an office owned by the couple. Among the finds, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation: an “enormous” amount of cash; so much, in fact, that it took hours to count.
‘ …Sources in Ljubljana told the Guardian this week that “Maria and Ludwig” were in fact elite Russian spies known as “illegals”….
‘ …On Thursday, the foreign minister, Tanja Fajon, corroborated these claims, telling reporters the arrested couple were in fact Russian citizens, rather than Argentinians.
‘ Unlike “legal” Russian intelligence officers, who are disguised as diplomats at Russian embassies across the world, the illegals operate without any visible links to Moscow. They are trained for years to impersonate foreigners and then sent abroad to gather intelligence. Many have children, who are raised in the cover identity without any idea that their parents are really Russian….’
‘…[S]ources with detailed knowledge of the case said Mayer and Gisch worked for Russia’s SVR foreign intelligence service. If the couple are indeed SVR illegals, it will be the first such case aired publicly since 2010, when the FBI rounded up a group of 10 in the US after tipoffs from a mole inside Russian intelligence…
‘…There are signs the couple could be part of a broader SVR illegal network. Shortly after the arrests in Ljubljana, a Greek woman and Brazilian man swiftly departed Athens and Rio de Janeiro respectively. Greek authorities believe the pair were also SVR illegals, according to Greek media reports, and may have fled in fear the couple arrested in Slovenia could blow their cover….’

They call it, “playing the long game”.
(Hmm. Wonder what “Biden” calls it?)

  9. And a few Covid tips that might not really be necessary at this stage…but still…

“The Gut Bacteria That’s Missing in People Who Get Severe COVID”
‘ Dr. Sabine Hazan is a gastroenterologist and CEO of Progenabiome. She is an expert on gut bacteria. When she started studying the microbiomes of COVID-19 patients, she quickly noticed a pattern.
‘ “The people that had severe COVID lacked a certain bacteria called bifidobacteria,” she says.
‘ In this episode, she breaks down how a healthy gut impacts people’s outcomes from COVID-19, and what steps people can take to improve their gut health and overall immunity.
‘ With the knowledge Hazan gained from studying the microbiomes of COVID-19 patients, she developed and patented treatment protocols combining vitamins and drugs that increase bifidobacteria including vitamin C, vitamin D, hydroxychloroquine, and ivermectin.
‘ We also discuss how the COVID-19 vaccines impact the microbiome, including the microbiomes of babies breastfeeding from recently vaccinated mothers.’—

Time to hit the natural (i.e., non-pasteurized) pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi, natto, etc.

  10. Barry Meislin–

Methinks you’ll appreciate this story (well, it will certainly take anyone’s mind off politics): “A transgender woman was left in tears at JFK Airport after she claimed a TSA agent punched her in the testicles while going through security . . . . ‘[The TSA agent] followed me into the women’s bathroom and began talking about me to a coworker while I sobbed in a stall,’ she wrote, asking friends on the internet for advice as to what she should do. In a follow-up post, she said she was left crying for over an hour and said ‘my balls still hurt so bad,’ according to a screenshot from the Daily Mail.”

  11. My grandpa, he’s 95
    And he keeps on dancin’
    He’s still alive

    My grandma, she’s 92
    She loves to dance
    And sing some, too

    I don’t know
    But I’ve been told
    If you keep on dancing
    You’ll never grow old

    Come on darling
    Put a pretty dress on
    We’re gonna go out tonight
    Dance, dance, dance
    Dance, dance, dance
    Dance, dance, dance
    All night long

  12. Politics is necessary so the real things the art the literature the sport can be possible everything has been subordinated in priority

  13. PA+Cat, thanks much for making sure that I noticed that particular gem.
The heart goes out, it really does.
    That poor, poor, um, a….person.
Traveling is hard enough these days as it is….
Good to know, OTOH, that the TSA is so utterly devoted to ensuring the safety of all travelers, even if they do occasionally seem to get a tad overzealous.
Can’t be an easy job. Certainly not one that I’d want to do.
In any event, I’m sure that that poor, poor, um…person, in spite of the misunderstanding, appreciates their efforts.
No doubt the next time she flies she’ll invest in a little common-sense protection to prevent any more unpleasant surprises.
Chalk it up as a learning experience, gratis…

  14. the crazy pills are on expedited shipping, (I know Mugatu was the comicvillain, but sometimes they give them the best lines)

  15. A little truth seeps out.
    Finally. Grudgingly.
They can no longer deny it.
    Drip, drip, drip.
    Fools and criminals.
    Scoundrels and miscreants.
    Democrats…
    …Drip, drip, drip.
“Prosecutor Admits DC Police Officers Acted As Provocateurs At US Capitol On Jan. 6”—
    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/prosecutor-admits-dc-police-officers-acted-provocateurs-us-capitol-jan-6
Opening graf, wreaking as it does with dishonesty:
“A federal prosecutor admitted in court papers that three D.C. Metropolitan Police Department undercover officers acted as provocateurs at the northwest steps of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021….”

    Only three, eh?
Question: Why are the Democrats such terrible liars?
Answer: Obviously, since they know the media firmly has their backs, they don’t really have to sharpen their skills in that department.
    So once again, the refrain:
    Fools and criminals.
    Scoundrels and miscreants.
    Democrats…
    …Drip, drip, drip.
    Simply pathetic.

Finish up with some more “key grafs”:
‘ [William] Pope is seeking to lift the court seal on the undercover video as part of his drive to obtain full access to video evidence held by the government. Pope is representing himself in the criminal case being prosecuted against him. At a hearing on March 3, Judge Contreras seemed sympathetic to Pope’s motion to unmask the videos.
‘ “The officer clearly incited that area, and we still don’t have video from all other undercover MPD,” Pope told The Epoch Times. “And as the numerous informants in the Proud Boys trial demonstrates, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface on FBI involvement.”…’ [Emphasis mine: Barry M.]

File under: Apres ca la deluge?

  16. Oops. “…le deluge…”
Dunno why a flood should be masculine…
Oh wait, maybe it’s because of Curt Flood?
(And what a flood HE started…)

  17. I love dancing, especially with my wife. And before Lent, Slovakia has a ball season where we go out.
    Dancing! It’s wonderful.
In college I took some courses:
Ballroom. Modern. Modern. Folk. Folk. Tap dance (fun!). Jitterbug.
I surprised my fiance before we got married by taking dance lessons with her – all Slovak high school students take a ballroom dance course.

I would have liked more break dancing & male streetdancing (THANKS, Michael J!), but I was already old for that. I left modern dance because it was too … gay-ish.

Now I’m also doing Karaoke, almost every weekend – so I’ve started practicing.

All of dancing, and karaoke, and most performing, including sports competition, has a sort of out-of-body full concentration experience. I remember also college boxing for 2 years – total concentration. (FAR more exhausting than any other exercise – if you pause, you get beat, and it HURTS!)

I like most S&G songs, but this Disturbed cover I’m now practicing is fantastic (and more in my lower range):
