  1. I woke up this morning feeling really down, don’t know why. Have to see how the day progresses. Soon will be going to the Gym to do a little workout, then afternoon will be getting up leaves and leaves and leaves.
I keep reading about the “coming Red Wave” and that it is getting bigger. I will reserve judgement on that about 2 weeks after the election when all the ballots have been counted. If the Republicans win, will it really make a difference? I have my doubts. Thanks for reading, hope I don’t bring anyone else down.

  2. Second post this morning. I cannot vouch if this is true or not. There have been questions about the cameras around the Pelosi house though. It may very well be true that they are monitored live by Capital Police. I don’t know anything about “Just the News” site, anyone care to comment.

“live security video feed at the home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi caught the suspect in the recent assault on her husband Paul Pelosi, but no one from the U.S. Capitol Police was watching, sources told Just the News.”

  3. “Just the News” is a credible site, SHIREHOME. What their source says is that after the fact, when the house had police cars with flashing lights all around, the Capitol Police looked back on the feed and saw someone dressed in black breaking into the back of the house. Some security force!

  4. And characteristically, with her finger on the pulse of the nation…

  5. Barry-
Pittsburgh and Phila., the 2 major population centers in PA, are ruled by Democrats is why. Philly political corruption has become legendary.
As to the rendition of “Dixie Darlin’ “, I’m not sure why Neo posted it. The vocal and instrumental components both strike me as undistinguished. And why most of the group’s members choose to look like 1960s trash is unclear. Don’t know when this video was made.

  6. So Biden was “campaigning” in Florida yesterday babbling about hurricane Ivan, the war in Iraq where his son was killed, and meeting the “inventor” of insulin. I’m just curious about the decision to send him to Florida. The races for Senate and Governor are not competitive and if they were, the appearance of a very unpopular and dysfunctional Biden wouldn’t have helped. So why bother? Maybe Biden thinks he should be campaigning and his staff just chose a place where he can’t do any harm. Or maybe Biden believes that Florida is competitive and he can help push Crist and Demmings over the top. Odd decision.

  7. he’s a corrupt deluded maniac, with imperial tendencies, this was clear in 2008, well the corrupt part wasn’t that crystal clear

  8. and meeting the “inventor” of insulin

Two of the discoverers died before he was born, one spent his entire professional career in Toronto, and the last bounced between several Canadian cities, rounding out his career in London, Ontario.

  9. Yesterday, Stuart Varney on Fox Business said he thought Biden’s appearance in Miami was a desperate attempt by the Dems to save at least Miami-Dade from the red wave. It remains to be seen whether Biden can influence anyone.

  10. was a desperate attempt by the Dems to save at least Miami-Dade from the red wave. It remains to be seen whether Biden can influence anyone.

Naah. There’s an ice cream shoppe there he wanted to visit.

  11. I see that a Judge in AZ has banned video of ballot boxes. I would bet that it is a Dem Judge. My guess that it will still happen, just not so in your face.

  12. SHIREHOME-
Election fraud/corruption are an exclusive specialty of Dems. I am not happy sharing my country with a mass of unindicted Democratic felons. If Dems are not evil, they are stupid.

  13. Thanks for that music tip Neo…Always good to catch a bit of my “home country” goodness.

  14. “There’s an ice cream shoppe there he wanted to visit.”

I was thinking more that there were girls he wanted to sniff & grope…but I could be wrong.

  15. there doesn’t appear to be a backlog of mail votes in nevada, according to jon ralston,

  16. “Or maybe Biden believes that Florida is competitive and he can help push Crist and Demmings over the top.”

It looks as if the people actually running the White House understood they had to send Biden out or he’d know something was wrong, but the only place they could think to send him was Florida where he won’t do any harm to Democrats who are already going to lose.

  17. Kate,

“the Capitol Police looked back on the feed and saw someone dressed in black breaking into the back of the house.”

Did the Capitol Police offer an explanation for why the broken glass was outside the door rather than inside? That BTW is an impossible result when striking glass from the outside.

After the Capitol Police cover up of the Ashli Babbitt murder, upon what basis is anything they report to be trusted?

    Cicero,

“why most of the group’s members choose to look like 1960s trash is unclear.”

Two of the five members have long hair. All five have beards, which is common with today’s young men. None are dressed in rags, the clothes appear to be washed and of the type commonly worn by blue collar workers. “Trash”? That’s more than a bit harsh.

  18. Did the Capitol Police offer an explanation for why the broken glass was outside the door rather than inside?

You all keep repeating this, as if it were true.

  19. Recently-
Pres. Biden said that: [paraphrased]- “Donald Trump’s claiming that the 2020, Presidential election was stolen from him- inspired a man to attack Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi.”

    BALONEY.

And just so people know, baloney means- “nonsense”, and, “that’s not TRUE”.

Sure- if Trump never said, “The election was stolen from me”, then this guy would not have attacked Paul Pelosi.

    “Sure, sure!”

And if I say- If [President Taft] had told the owners of the Titanic [ship], “Don’t go to sea, today, the weather looks kind of chilly”, would people believe that hypothetical idea, and believe that this warning would’ve stopped the crew from putting the Titanic on a voyage?

I think that the courts will find out that- this man who attacked Paul Pelosi had other problems, LOTS of other problems, that motivated him to attack Paul Pelosi.

    I’ll wait and see.

  20. Goatees are very common among men , at least in Texas, where I live. I could not grow one of any length thru most of my 20s and over half of my 30s due to monthly National Guard drills and deployments. But once I was done with my service, I grew one. For years after that, until this year,at 52, I kept my hair fairly short. Right now I have the longest hair I have had since my pre military days, in the early 90s.. It hangs down in the back and naturally curls forward toward my ears.Unfortunately, the years have not been kind to my hairline on top. Midlife crises haircut! ?

  21. “I’ll wait and see…”

    Sounds judicious…but the election’s this Tuesday…

…and “Biden”‘s gotta make hay while the sun’s still shining.

Which means that if the poster boy for the NEW, FRESHLY-MINTED VERSION of Mega-MAGA Man has to be a crazed, Pelosi-obsessed illegal-immigrant wokester who espouses—and lives—any and every nutty Uber-Left-Wing talking point, then…well, so be it (as long as you studiously CONCEAL the “illegal-immigrant wokester who espouses any and every nutty Uber-Left-Wing talking point” part of it…

    “Makes sense” to “Biden”, anyway.
After all, you gotta use whatever you have at hand in this business…EVERY TOOL!…
(and NEVER let a crisis go to waste…. And lie like there’s no tomorrow…)
…ESPECIALLY in the runup to an election.

Cuz’ THAT’S what makes you a WINNER (at least in your own mind…such as it is…)

File under: If you DON’T vote for ME then you’re NOT a decent, freedom-loving, patriotic American…but a DIVISIVE, Mega-MAGA-Trump-supporting Deplorable INSURRECTIONIST dedicated to the destruction of our dear country….(but NEVER, EVER forget that UNITY is the king-pin of MY platform!!)

  22. There is no such thing as “election denying” in a free society. It’s called free speech. You’re allowed to say it if you think it. Period! And yet our media, which exists to defend free speech, is doing its best day after day to shut it down.

    Tucker Carlson, 11/02/22

  23. “…meeting the inventor of insulin…”

    Pretty sure he meant “Metamucil”.
Angling for the votes from that particular demographic, no doubt… (Significant in FL…)

  24. Sometimes a little country music is nice for a change.
They had a good beat and some nice harmony.
“I wish I had mattered more to you” — is a good explanation for a failed romance.

I find it hard to understand all the words when people sing, so I looked up the lyrics.

    [Verse 1]
Dixie says that horses know her better than people do
Well I’ve known Dixie seven years and I’d have to say it’s true
Once my sweetheart, now the sweetheart of the rodeo
    She heard?the?highway?callin’ with the?meltin’ of the?snow

    [Chorus]
    I tried…
Yes I tried… to change her mind
Dixie Darlin’, did you find what you were after
    A greener pasture
    A wilder blue…
When I think about the things that really matter
I always wish that I had mattered more to you

    [Verse 2]
Dixie came to see me on the day her daddy died
Three nights full of thunder and the tears she had to cry
She asked if I would hold her and I held her all that week
Till she loaded up her saddle and she kissed me on the cheek

    [Verse 3]
Dixie called me late one night on Colorado time
Told me she was two weeks late and she knew it must be mine
I wanted to raise a family, right here in this little town
But in the end she wasn’t ready to have a kid and settle down.

    [Chorus]
When I think about the things that really matter
I always wish that I had mattered more to you

It’s a sad story, and a poignant reminder that there are 3 people involved in every abortion. Kind of similar to one element in the plotline in “Caberet.”
It’s not always the men who are running away from commitment.

  25. AesopFan:

Yes, I think the tune is nice, but I put the song up because of the lyrics. Especially that last verse.

Also, when you put up the lyrics, that last chorus was shortened and the “I tried…I tried to change her mind” part was left out. But they sing that line in that last chorus, and it’s an important one. The chorus takes on an added poignancy when you realize what he’s saying there.
