Has Kamala been around Joe for too long already? — 24 Comments

  1. C’mon man, let’s circle back on this.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) for land mines. Equal Opportunity Dumbass (EOD) for mined lands. At this point what difference does it make?

Circle back – what about her Chuck Taylor sneakers?

  2. Another entry into the “These People Are Not That Smart” category:

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-01/biden-s-promised-1-400-checks-are-even-dividing-the-white-house?srnd=premium&sref=KhY5gfAd

Apparently, two of Biden’s “top economic advisors” are pushing back on $1,400 checks for everybody, afraid that will swallow up too much of whatever COVID aid package eventually passes and, I guess, making it harder to do things like bail out big city pension funds or whatever.

Not getting people those checks would be the biggest political blunder since Bush the Elder broke his “no new taxes” pledge. That anyone in the Biden White House is even considering it is evidence of terminal stupidity.

  3. On the check subject …

Mrs Jack voted for Biden and got $600 check 2 weeks ago.

I voted for Trump and still have not got squat.

No conspiracy … just the facts!

  4. See this is what happens when people stop using a hyphen for compound adjectives!! If people wrote about abandoned-mine lands, would this have happened? I think not! 😉

  5. Back in the 90s/00s, landmines were a feel-good, fashionable issue among elite celebrities. Both Princess Diana and Paul McCartney made public cause against landmines.

Not that they were wrong to do so, but I’ve reached the point where I would rather such people do good secretly. I wasn’t a George Michael fan, but I was touched by the stories which came out after his death in 2016.

Numerous accounts of George Michael’s generosity emerged online when he passed away on December 25, 2016. The pop superstar was a dedicated philanthropist, donating millions to charitable causes unbeknownst to the public.

From setting up charitable foundations that provide grants to offering charity records where proceeds go to various charities to simple, ordinary acts of kindness, George’s charitable acts knew no bounds. Some of the stories that emerged after his death focused on George’s smaller gestures that didn’t depend on his millions.

  6. I was attending a local free music festival a couple years ago, listening to a wife and husband (+2) band, and in between songs the wife told her George Michaels story from years prior.

She and her husband were invited to play somewhere near London, and in spite of being 8 mo. pregnant they went. She went to catch the elevator, by herself, from the 20th floor, or higher, of their hotel and got on the elevator with Mr. Michaels. By the time they reached the lobby, he had offered her back stage passes that she had to refuse because of prior obligations.

The doors opened and a mass of paparazzi began flashing cameras at George Michaels and the mystery lady. The next day’s tabloids ran giant photos and headlines reading something like “George, Mystery Lady, and Love Child??”

  7. Not the way to pressure Manchin. He is and will remain a Dem. But don’t think that he is the type to put up with her trying to push him.

  8. “Has Kamala been around Joe for too long already?”

We will know for sure if she starts doing that stiff legged Zombie walk Joe Biden, P.O.S.T.U., does.

  9. Kamala tries too hard to be cool and in reality she is not. No body likes her (even people ‘Down Under’.) She did terrible in the primaries. It really is unfortunate that she doesn’t know the first thing about coal mining.

  10. Xiden’s corruption is only matched by Kamala’s insatiable ambition.

Of such as she are tyrants made.

  11. A propos of nothing much, I saw a photo of Kamala’s step daughter who now has a modeling contract (!!), displaying tattoos. That set me off on whether Emhoff’s daughters are Jewish. Their mother, his first wife, is some kind of Hollywood producer of Swedish origin, so not likely Jewish; and of course Kamala is not Jewish. Emhoff and Harris issuing a joint video about how much Hannukah means to them was a bit rich, in that case, just as was Kamala’s claim to remember lighting Kwanzaa candles when she was being raised by her Tamil Hindu mother.

I have no objection whatever to people being Jewish, black American, Swedish, or Hindu; I just don’t like fakes.

  12. Its a disease one can acquire when once thinks they have reached a position… or earned x dollars…etc… not all get the disease, and some have it a lot worse than others…

  13. Clearing land mines is tricky business.

Peggy Noonan, I think it was, remarked that we’re being condescended to by our inferiors.

Nevertheless, this gaffe will not cost the dems any votes. There is a kind of virtuous ignorance in which knowing certain things indicates low social status. Thus, exhibiting ignorance in this subject, whatever it is, is a status indicator. So Harris will solidify some votes.

The people she insulted were already not going to vote for her or for Biden.

  14. Hey, everybody knows that John Brown laid thousands of land mines during his raid at Harpers Ferry. Give Kamala some credit.

  15. Harris is an apparatchik of the California machine. She never had to campaign or work hard (except under the sheets) to develop her political acumen. This is what happens when the right “identity” is chosen. She was selected as the willing tool for the Obama team. We are just now starting to see what she truly is like. The ancestor of slave owning masters.

Keep reminding people “YOU voted for it!”

  16. I have no objection whatever to people being Jewish, black American, Swedish, or Hindu; I just don’t like fakes.

Tolerance is all well and good. But you’re taking things too far with the modern Swedes, mate!

  17. Totally unrelated to topic of Ms Harris, allow me to present a little tidbit of George Orwell’s poetic oeuvre:

    Romance (1925)

When I was young and had no sense
    In far-off Mandalay
I lost my heart to a Burmese girl
    As lovely as the day.

Her skin was gold, her hair was jet,
    Her teeth were ivory;
I said ‘For twenty silver pieces,
    Maiden, sleep with me.’

She looked at me, so pure, so sad,
    The loveliest thing alive,
And in her lisping, virgin voice,
    Stood out for twenty-five.

(Found whilst happily rooting around in the great John Derbyshire’s online diary/journal/musings.)
