Hunter Biden’s laptop, Andrew McCarthy, and the commenters at The Hill — 43 Comments

1. Joe Biden sold his office to foreigners. He was bribed. The FBI needs to check his foreign bank accounts and bitcoin accounts. He violated his oath of office. He needs to win the election in order to stay out of jail.

Trump will hammer him on Thursday with this issue and rightly so.

Who in their right mind can vote for Joe Biden? He sold out his country. He’s worse than Benedict Arnold. He’s a traitor. There is no real doubt about this.

2. I had a similar experience perusing the comments at WaPo in a recent and astonishingly stupid column by David Ignatius, who is not without journalistic ability and has written some good novels. Almost every comment on the article repeated the leftist disinformation about Russia; so pervasive is the progressive lunacy among both journalists and those who read the MSM that Jonathan Chait recently argued in NYMag that the media are not biased against Trump, but for him.

3. The “Russian misinformation” line is bewildering. How could NBC, etc., have read the NY Post’s account of how it got the emails and think Russians were involved?

4. Kate:

They don’t think so.

They are lying and issuing propaganda.

“The Russians ate my homework.”

5. Finally after all this time started to see some FB postings from the left/liberals I follow on the Hunter laptop…..yep, it was all Russia, Russia, Russia… Nothing really gets through to these people. The next lines were the usual, “well, Hunter may be bad, but Trump is 10x worse!!!!” Nothing to see here folks.

6. j e ” Jonathan Chait recently argued in NYMag that the media are not biased against Trump, but for him.”

And Nancy Pelosi recently accused accused CNN host Wolf Blitzer of being a ‘Republican apologist’.

7. physicsguy:

I wouldn’t expect partisans on Facebook to do anything but repeat the party line on this.

What I’m wondering about are those more in the middle, more doubtful already about how to vote. Where do they stand? Does this matter to them? Do they buy the “Russia, Russia” excuse?

8. I’ve watched videos on Rudy’s Common Sense. IMO, he needs to have the laptop and hard drive in the video and read off the serial number and show that it was owned by Robert Hunter Biden. And show the contract with the repair shop. And show some more personal photos from the laptop.

Wayne Allyn Root is alleging that criminal sex videos are on the laptop.

9. Is it so amazing that Ymar was talking about American traitors? Americans don’t seem to care much about getting rid of traitors.

10. It may be necessary, unfortunately, to publicize some of the videos of Hunter doing his pornography and then ask the Dems how the Russians managed to film those actions and then insert them into his laptop.

11. Cornhead,

The FBI doesn’t care about his bank accounts and bitcoin. They knew about Hunter’s laptop and sat on it. The FBI is lost to us, if it was ever really with us and not just an agency devoted to blackmail and protecting the power structure. And if by chance, the protect citizens in the process, that just helps the image.

Note the recent rescues, a number of them, of 30-40 plus children at a time around the US. It was the US Marshals, not the FBI doing those raids.

The FBI is still officially ignoring the Antifa/BLM Axis while sounding the warning that “white supremacy” is the greatest domestic threat at this time.

The FBI is lost. Gone.

12. “Hunter Biden’s laptap”

Is that a laptop that tap dances because it is high on cocaine remnants from the owner?

13. The “Russia” thing is now just the dogs slobbering when Pavlov rings the bell when it comes to the average liberal out there.

I think the biggest reason our elites have pushed Russia as a convenient scapegoat is that is distracts everyone, including themselves, from the reality that a good chunk of our economic and cultural leaders have been bought and paid for by China.

Mike

14. “Who in their right mind can vote for Joe Biden?”

Well, they could always rationalize/mitigate/excuse/forget his criminality by stating that he’s currently suffering from dementia (poor man), which happens to be true, and which may appeal to their compassionate natures.

But what they’ll probably say, is, “He’s not Trump so he’s got my vote.”
– – – – – – – – – – – – –
“They don’t think so.
“They are lying and issuing propaganda.”

The only way to look at this NOW, AT THIS POINT IN TIME is to understand, to truly comprehend, as Wretchard—so often ahead of the curve—posted on Sep. 29:
“The reason the establishment doesn’t care to hide the iron fist anymore is they’ve bet the farm. They’re all in.”
https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=32957105

Key phrase:
“…they’ve bet the farm. They’re all in.”

What is essentially happening is that the US elections are a massive roulette table, a huge gamble, a gargantuan bluff, with the Democrats and their supporters in and outside US government, the media, institutions of government, info-tech and major corporations, mega-donors and people of influence inside and outside the country, buying up unbelievable numbers of chips and piling up all those chips on “Biden-Harris” while trying to manipulate the table and/or the table mechanism and/or the croupier and/or the ball so as to ENSURE that that little ball will end up where they want it to.

The currency that they’re using to pay for all these huge numbers of chips is their integrity, the integrity of their people in government institutions, those institutions themselves, the integrity of the media, the integrity of the courts, the security of the country’s citizens, all sense of honesty and truth, of responsibility, of decency, the integrity of everything they supposedly stand for.

It doesn’t matter. They buy those chips and pile them up on Biden-Harris

Because THEY HAVE TO WIN. And when you have to win you bet the farm. You bet your shirt, your Rolex, your car, your house, your wife. YOU BET EVERYTHING.

AND YOU CHEAT.

This is where the Democratic Party of the USA stands at this point.

It is the biggest, most gargantuan pot in the history of the USA.
And the biggest, most gargantuan bluff.

The Democrats KNOW, as they pile up those chips, that they could lose EVERYTHING. (At least that’s what they tell themselves.)

Therefore, they are making absolutely sure that THEY WILL NOT LOSE.

Keep in mind that they did not intend to lose in 2016.

On the other hand the level and amplitude of their “fearful intensity” this time around are many, many more powers of magnitude greater than they were in 2016.

As the world watches this psychopathic power struggle, wondering whether they can ever again trust the US. To be sure, many were asking the question during the Obama regime, but now the illness has metastasized and spread.

One must remain hopeful.

15. Some commenter on another blog offered the plausible scenario that, if the left can drag Biden across the finish line, they can then use the laptop as the means to quickly get rid of Biden and clear the way for Harris.

16. Cornhead,

“Who in their right mind can vote for Joe Biden? He sold out his country. He’s worse than Benedict Arnold. He’s a traitor. There is no real doubt about this.”

Indeed. But you see they’re not in their right mind, they abandoned reason and common sense long ago.

“Wayne Allyn Root is alleging that criminal sex videos are on the laptop.”

Reportedly there are videos on the laptop of Hunter Biden raping and torturing prepubescent Chinese girls. It’s also noteworthy that when the FBI subpoenaed the laptop, “the FBI first turned the hard drive over to Joshua Wilson, a specialist in child pornography, whose signature on the subpoena to the repair store owner is faintly visible.”

17. The laptop existed- no questioning that is really rational at this point. McCarthy mentioned the photos and videos, but he failed to point out the biggest hole in the conspiracy theory that it was the Russians- this laptop was picked up the FBI almost 1 year ago, and they sent agents to look at it more than 1 year ago. Why would a Russian operation give the laptop the the FBI who would surely bury it?

I mean, you could make a plausible argument if the laptop showed on Giuliani’s doorstep delivered by UPS, but the shopowner is a real person, not an anonymous source- a real persone with a real history, and not someone you can easily describe as a Russian agent of any kind.

18. “Some commenter on another blog offered the plausible scenario that, if the left can drag Biden across the finish line, they can then use the laptop as the means to quickly get rid of Biden and clear the way for Harris.”

I made the same argument on Mark Wauck’s site a day or two ago, and probably over at Althouse, too. I am sure a million people have made the same point, though.

19. What I have very reluctantly come to conclude is that President Trump is surrounded by and under attack from enemies on every side–including many enemies in Congress, within the Federal Bureaucracy, and within his own Administration–and it is increasingly looking like he is virtually alone in his attempts to preserve at least some remaining semblance of our Republic, the Constitutional order, and our Rights, our Freedom, and even our traditional culture.

20. Snow on Pine:

He’s not alone, but it’s close. I could write – and you could probably also write – a list of names of those who are with him in that endeavor. A few are in Congress (Cotton,Cruz, Crenhaw, as well as a few others). Others are in the Supreme Court (Thomas, Alito, hopefully Barrett, for example) and in other federal courts. Some are in the administration in other capacities – Grennell, Giuliani, Ratcliffe.

But you are correct. I feels overwhelming right now.

21. Yancey Ward:

I don’t think they’d be in any hurry to get rid of Biden unless he defies them, which I don’t see him doing. So why get rid of him? He’s a good figurehead. Harris might be a bit feistier and more difficult in some ways. Plus, if they use the laptop to get rid of Biden, they are agreeing that the Republicans were right and everyone else wrong about the laptop. They can’t afford to give it any validity. So unless there’s some pressing need, I don’t think it will happen.

22. Neo–What I should have more precisely said is that, I just don’t think that President Trump has enough Allies, in enough key positions, and wielding enough power, to prevail.

23. Neo, do not forget Louie Ghomert on your list. I am from the same district. I see his postings on social media. His democrat detractors are vicious though, like wishing death on him when he had Covid. They , adults, call him names like “ Goober”. They absolutely loath him because of what he fights for. Also, check out the Texas Republican Party Chairman, previously from Florida and the House of Representatives, LTC Allen West.

24. The FBI is lost to us, if it was ever really with us and not just an agency devoted to blackmail and protecting the power structure. And if by chance, the protect citizens in the process, that just helps the image.

The history of the FBI is a bit strange. They were recruited from a PMC, the Pinkertons. You may recall that name, because it is the same “private investigation” corp that shot and killed that Trump boi of yours.

The Pinkertons worked for the Cabal Rockefellers and robber barons of America, to break strikes and protect the elite bankers.

They kept law and order and the trains on time, but people realized there was always something off about them.

Huh, Snow? You don’t think a Son of God, Melchizedek priest, and Ymar of all people, is enough of an ally for Trump to pull it off?

Hehe.

But you are correct. I feels overwhelming right now.

Slightly less overwhelming for those that believed in Ymar’s words before.

People lecture Ymar all the time that these Satanic ritual abuse, child elite pedo fantasy does not exist. It’s nothing to worry about, you know that GB.

Hunter of course was initiated. He is being groomed. A vampire needs to drink blood after all.

25. Also I know who really sent those laptops to the repair guy. And it most likely was not Hunter.

Q.

Always Q.

The Star Trek Q even, that trickster god persona. Even Leftists realize how “convenient” this was. It was a dead drop.

What is 8 chan and Q known for? Being hackers and those that “leak” information on the elite, dripple dribble, like the whole Trump “we caught them” thing on Hillary/Biden/Hussein.

Q, anon movement that is, is linked to the NSA (military intelligence), the conspiracy “truther” crowd, non mainstream fringe conspiracy sites like 8kun/4chan (that is now being run on the DOD server/IP).

Q is also notably linked to the Queen in chess, Donald Trump himself.

Who was the person who told Trump he was being surveiled? Roger somebody, former 17th Head of the NSA.

None of you have any doubts or questions about that little connection? The NSA of all people? Haha.

26. When Hillary’s emails were hacked, we were told it was due to Russia. Those arguing for this felt no need to demonstrate the authenticity of the claim that it was due to Russia. We went immediately to Defcon 1: “Russia.”
When Trump was accused during his campaign of colluding with/being helped by Russia, we were told it was due to Russia. Those arguing for this felt no need to demonstrate the authenticity of the claim that it was due to Russia. We went immediately to Defcon 1: “Russia.”
When Trump, elected, was accused of colluding with/being helped by Russia, we were told it was due to Russia. Mueller et al. felt no need to demonstrate a priori the authenticity of the claim that it was due to Russia, but spent 2 years failing to demonstrate it, and then wrote a report in such terms that the diehards could continue to argue, at Defcon 2 or more; “Russia.”
Today, when Biden père et fils are in the cross-hairs of a gigantic exposé of a multinational Grift-a-thon, we are told it was due to Russia. None of the defenders feels any need to demonstrate the authenticity of the claim: the laptop must be a fake, the story of provenance is a fairy tale, etc. We are told, at Defcon 1, “Russia.”

I am beginning to sense a pattern here.

27. Ymarsakar,
it is 2020 so why not Q. The dems seemed to have made it existential for Trump and for us too. This feels like a kill shot to me. The FBI sitting on it may have been part of the October Surprise or part of a smoke out the traitors side campaign.

28. Kill shot is in 2021 by June. But this one is a good appetizer. There’s also Hussein/Iran billion ransom, for the termination of Seal Team Six over the fake Bin Laden hit.

There’s so many secret combinations, agencies, intel agencies, and agents running around playing this game, even I can’t keep all of them straight.

This is End Game chess. Only a few pieces left, but the players keep spamming moves on them. One mistake is all it takes.

29. But of course it’s Russia….
(Hunter Biden was/is addicted to crack/coke and his dear father to money; but the Democratic Party and its media accomplices are addicted to this most difficult of “substances” to kick, this most convenient, if pathetic, of excuses…and “recovery” seems to be—at least for them—impossible).

30. On my movie screen, there are now 50 “experts” who can be placed in the box with the rest of the Coup Conspirators that we already know about.

Lots of commenters here have pointed out the holes in the “it’s not Hunter’s laptop” assertions (I mentioned some myself a few posts back), but here is the definitive takedown by J E Dyer, a genuine intel expert.

https://libertyunyielding.com/2020/10/20/actually-laptopgate-bears-little-resemblance-to-a-classic-russian-info-op/

On Monday, 50 current and former U.S. intelligence officials signed on to a “Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails,” in which they assert that “the arrival on the US political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, much of it related to his serving on the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” (H/t: Breitbart, Politico)

The problem with their communication is that, as classic Russian information operations go, this one misses the mark by a lot.

For one thing, if it were an info op, it would be very awkwardly conceived – for any purpose, classic or otherwise. Its impact seems to depend on a “going public” moment that was brokered by a random computer repair dude in a storefront shop, who happened to find the emails on a laptop left unclaimed for over 90 days.

Unless the intel officials are proposing to complicate the narrative by making this guy a Russian agent – a really irresponsible thing to do to him, considering there’s no evidence for that – you don’t get from Point A to Point B in this info op on a timeline the Russians could control.

And if the timeline can’t be controlled, there’s no way to make it an info op about the U.S. election. What if computer dude didn’t look at the laptop’s contents until sometime in 2021? What if he went out of business during the pandemic and the computer was dropped off for recycling and never heard from again? What if arsonists burned his store out and looters made off with the laptop?

But let’s back up a little further first.

All of the analysis is clear and compelling.

31. Bonus question — and touchdown reply — by Doc Zero.

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1317079788004253697.html

Why would hostile foreign powers and shady characters keep paying Hunter Biden millions of dollars for access, year after year, if he never delivered any?

The media/Biden campaign (but I repeat myself) framing for this story is that some shifty foreigners stuffed cash into Hunter’s pockets one time, then found him passed out in a bathtub with a crack pipe and cursed themselves for fools, as if he had conned them.

But that’s not what happened AT ALL. Shifty foreigners and outright enemies of the United States paid Hunter Biden huge sums to buy access, over and over again, for years.

Does that make it seem like the word of mouth on Hunter Biden’s services, among those seeking access to the U.S. government through Joe Biden, was bad… or very, very good?

32. Glenn Reynolds posts the article that USA Today would not publish. (h/t PowerLine)

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/407934/

“while this heavyhanded censorship effort failed, there’s no reason to assume that other such efforts won’t work in the future. Not many stories are as hard to squash as a major newspaper’s front page expose during an presidential election.

Had Facebook and Twitter approached this story neutrally, as they would have a decade ago, it would probably already be old news to a degree — as Greenwald notes, Hunter’s pay-for-play efforts were already well known, if not in such detail — but instead the story is still hot. More importantly, their heavy handed action has brought home just how much power they wield, and how crudely they’re willing to wield it. They shouldn’t be surprised at the consequences.”

33. (They gave us Harry, so it’s only fair.)

Harry doesn’t have a drug problem, doesn’t have a history of gross sexual misconduct, and hasn’t spent his life peddling influence and laundering bribes. Harry has spent ten years in the Army and his service included combat posts. He’s been sliced to pieces of late because he and his wife elected to forego a civil list income and what goes with it – ceremonial occasions and philanthropy promotions f/t (i.e he’s elected to live like his cousins, who have no civil list income and promote this and that only selectively).

34. * * * (Ding Ding Ding) – Doc Zero nails it in AesopFan’s text – the enemies of the USA kept paying H. Biden because it worked.

Pay to play.

Just like HR Clinton.
Much like the Dems say they fear Reps are acting. Projection of how many Dems actually are acting.

How obviously corrupt and immoral does a Dem have to be before Dems admit they have a problem? There should be a lot of jokes about it, and Dem voters should be laughed at.
So they feel embarrassed or shamed.

Because their support for corruption by the Bidens is shameful.

35. In re Reynolds’ observations – (that really is the URL)

https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2020/10/19/mit-tech-reviewmit-tech-review-tech-censorship-nearly-doubled-attention-for-ny-post-biden-bombshell-twitter-censorship-nearly-doubled-attention-for-ny-post-biden-bombshell/

The attempt by the social media Masters of the Universe to stop the spread of the New York Post bombshell article about Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s alleged dealings with Burisma, has nearly doubled the level of attention the story gained.

What is known as the “Streisand Effect” — a social phenomenon that occurs when an attempt to censor information has the unintended consequence of further publicizing it instead — went into overdrive after social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter attempted to suppress a NY Post article about Hunter Biden, according to data published in the MIT Technology Review.

36. You heard it here first: Bevan Cooney didn’t kill himself.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/10/20/exclusive-bevan-cooney-moved-from-prison-cell-after-providing-email-account-exposing-hunter-biden/

Bevan Cooney, the former business associate of former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden who flipped on the Biden family, has been moved from his cell, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to Breitbart News.

On Tuesday, several days after emails Cooney provided to Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer and journalist Matthew Tyrmand became public, federal agents moved him from his cell to protect him. Tyrmand, who is in contact with members of Cooney’s family, told Breitbart News that Cooney was moved from his cell in a federal prison in Oregon around 11:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday. Tyrmand said that Cooney spoke with family members multiple times on Tuesday, which he said is “much more than usual.”

“Bevan could sense that things had changed with the rise in visibility of his story,” Tyrmand said.

Cooney’s family stressed to Tyrmand they are “extremely concerned given the nervousness gleaned from Bevan’s reaction this morning and they would appreciate a sign from the powers that be that Bevan is in protective custody.” It is unclear where Cooney has been moved to, and in whose custody he currently is.

“…Given that he was supposed to be released in the coming weeks, although that had been recently pushed back without explanation, his motivation lay purely in seeing justice delivered and warning America about what he had had a front row seat to witness.”

In some ways, it’s a good thing nobody knows where he is.
In other ways, it’s a very bad thing that nobody knows where he is.

Remember that the computer shop owner also was exceedingly nervous about reactions to his revealing Hunter’s emails.
I hope both of them are serious protective custody, by trustworthy DOJ operatives (NOT the FBI!!).

37. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. HOW did I ever get the idea that the Dems LOVED Russians??????????????? Or, used to………………
