If you’re looking for a good roundup of current impeachment articles… — 32 Comments

  1. I’ve written here several times about my impression—based on all of the White House leaks of the President’s high level conversations with foreign leaders, all the various acts of “resistance” to President Trump by Federal officials at the White House, State Department, DOJ, FBI, NSA, CIA and elsewhere in the Federal government, from the various and continuous attempts to drum him out of office by Democrat members of Congress and their “running dog” MSM under an ever changing list of theories, and Congressional Republican’s very tepid support for and defenses of President Trump and his actions—that President Trump, members of this core team in the White House, and his appointees to Executive Departments and Agencies are basically in the position faced by commandos that have been parachuted behind enemy lines; they’re few in number, on their own, and they’ve been dropped into hostile territory.

The evidence grows that Trump and his staff have been outnumbered by and surrounded by Obama holdovers and Never-Trumpers, many of whom have apparently taken every opportunity they could to sabotage Trump and his Administration.

Now comes this report out today, that the database containing the applications and resumes of supporters who wanted to work for the Trump Administration, which they had sent to the Trump created GreatAmerica.gov website, was lost by someone in the White House due to a supposed “computer glitch.”*

I’ve often been puzzled as to why Trump had and has so many Obama Administration holdovers—many of whom were/are evidently actively working against him and his policies.

Well here, it seems, is the answer.

Their hiring database denied them, the Trump Administration had to rely for personnel to staff key positions in his new Presidency on the very Obama holdovers who were intent on doing their best to “resist” and sabotage President Trump, the Trump Administration, and its policies.

I’m presuming that those responsible for this evident act of sabotage—how many of these all too convenient for the Left/Democrats “coinkydink” “computer glitches” have we seen, now, in these last few years?— and many others against Trump and his Administration believe that the Trump Administration has neither the time nor the people—nor, perhaps, even the desire—to track each and every one of them down, and to administer to them the punishment that they deserve.

    See https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/11/anti-trump-deep-state-blocked-trump-supporters-from-white-house-jobs-destroyed-database-created-to-recruit-trump-supporters-for-wh-positions/

  2. According to 2 reports, one from AOL and the other from NBC and both written by Russiagate pushing leftist reporters (4 in all), the FBI now seeks to “interview” the “whistleblower” known as Eric Ciaramella. Dunno whether these reports can be believed, but assume for a moment they’re true: interesting turn of events, no?

  3. Their hiring database denied them, the Trump Administration had to rely for personnel to staff key positions in his new Presidency on the very Obama holdovers who were intent on doing their best to “resist” and sabotage President Trump, the Trump Administration, and its policies.

This sounds like an urban legend.

  4. I have never seen a REAL example of judge, jury, prosecution in one person!!!
yes, we have a term that is commonly used, but in schiff, he gives himself time, takes time to ask questions, steers the questioning, and insists on doing that BEFORE anyone gets to ask questions… he blocks testimony, he emphasises and ignores the total, or if the opposite serves, does that. he is one of the most forward people confusing everyone in this…

he just talked about putting two and two together
but also testified that trump said he just wants them to do the right thing
and its a matter of selection, and confusion..

its a complete joke in terms of getting anywhere…
its also caused a nice sell off in the market when that hit the faux news..

if you dont think America can be the next Venezuela, you better get ready
and better get ready because that is exactly what they intend to do..

they would rather rule in a hell of their own making
than serve in a heaven someone else created…

  5. Interfax Ukraine: MPs demand Zelensky, Trump investigate suspicion of U.S.-Ukraine corruption involving $7.4 bln

    https://en.interfax.com.ua/news/press-conference/625831-amp.html?__twitter_impression=true

KYIV. Nov 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian members of parliament have demanded the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, investigate suspicions of the legalization of $7.4 billion by the “family” of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych through the American investment fund Franklin Templeton Investments, which they said has ties to the U.S. Democratic Party.

At a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency on Wednesday, MP Andriy Derkach announced that deputies have received new materials from investigative journalists about international corruption and the participation of Ukrainian officials in it.

“Last week, November 14, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), unnoticed by the media, announced a new suspicion to the notorious owner of Burisma, ex-Ecology Minister Zlochevsky. According to the suspicion, the Yanukovych family is suspected, in particular, with legalizing (laundering) of criminally obtained income through Franklin Templeton Investments, an investment fund carrying out purchases of external government loan bonds totaling $7.4 billion,” Derkach said.

I’m seeing reports that Zlochevsky has been arrested in Ukraine today, but that claim does not appear in the above. Looking for confirmation elsewhere.

  6. Knowing that Ukraine was currently being governed by a Jewish comedian should surely have been more than enough reason for Schiff to have been super cautious before deciding so rashly to let slip the chihuahuas of impeachment.

Me? I blame Nancy (because it’s never, ever Adam’s fault…,)

File under: “The woman made me eat it.

  7. Art Deco–Merely offering this as one possible explanation, but one which–if the hiring pool of self-selected Trump supporters wasn’t available to them, and they had only a limited amount of time to get their new Administration up and running and key positions staffed with “experienced” personnel–seems like a logical one.

BTW, do you know how long it takes to get a security clearance? It can take months, and drag out seemingly forever.

Moreover, if those who are doing these security clearances are not exactly friendly to you, I’d imagine that these clearance investigations can drag on and on for many months.

  8. sondland just clobbered castro and others saying he didnt think anything was wrong as they were operating in the center of what is normal (cant get the exact words right, but you can bet they will before tomorrow)

  9. “sondland just clobbered castro and others saying he didnt think anything was wrong as they were operating in the center of what is normal (cant get the exact words right, but you can bet they will before tomorrow)”

And yet Ken Starr claims the bombshell just exploded and shows Trump committed obstruction by not allowing Sondland to view documents: https://www.foxnews.com/media/ken-starr-gordon-sondland-quid-pro-quo-bombshell.

    Who to believe? 😉

  10. And yet Ken Starr claims the bombshell just exploded and shows Trump committed obstruction by not allowing Sondland to view documents:

This is the same guy who secured an indictment of Julie Hiatt Steele in a madcap bit of obsessive-compulsive lawyering. Hunk of rock salt there.

  11. They don’t ever back up their data or print out anything?

  12. Yesterday I happened to be looking at an old reference book on identifying Roman Imperial Coins, which beside the picture of a typical coin, included a one or two sentence listing for each Roman Emperor, and the dates of his reign.

After reading through this short book, what made a big impression of me was how very few Emperors (there were 87 Emperors and co-regents from Augustus to Romulus Augustulus in 476 A.D.) died a natural death or reigned for very long–some were Emperor for just a few weeks, a month, or couple of months before being cut down (Emperor Galba, for instance, reigned for only 7 months during 68-69 A.D, Emperor Otho reigned for just 3 months of 69 A.D., Emperor Marius ruled for just a few days before being killed in 268 A.D., the Emperor Jovian reigned for just one year in 363-364 A.D.); impressed at just how frequent, brutal, and bloody the scramble for ultimate power in the Roman state was, and the chaos and uncertainty you can imagine this created.

With a few major exceptions, and except for a couple of these Emperors who died on the field of battle against the enemies of Rome, the large majority of these Emperors were pulled down, were killed by their enemies within the Roman state—executed at the order of another Emperor, assassinated by their troops, poisoned, etc.

And I started to think about how lucky we have been, that our Framers—who knew their Roman and Greek history, and who did use some elements of the government of Rome as a model for the government they created—were able to devise a system to avoid such chaos, uncertainty, and bloodshed—and for the orderly and peaceful transfer of power; a system which we in this country have peacefully used and abided by for close to 250 years.

Given our current political situation/atmosphere, though, what I can’t help wondering is, if we here in the U.S. are now entering an era in which that peaceful “comity,”—that acceptance, cooperation, and peaceful, lawful transfer of power—will no longer be the rule.

That the naked scramble for power will mean contenders for that power who are not content to abide by the results of peaceful, legitimate elections, but who will try to wrench—by whatever means come to hand—the power of the Presidency from the current legitimate holder of that power, and that such a lawless, naked, and perhaps ultimately violent scramble for power will now become the norm, which would obviously mean the end of our Republic.

  13. The Ukraine comedy continues…. (Excellent writing. Soon, they’ll no doubt be serializing it, as there’s enough material here for years and years of laughs.)
    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/ukrainian-indictment-reveals-hunter-biden-group-made-165-million-mp

    Comedy of errors, mind you.

    Oh, and misunderstandings….

(No scandals, though, according to the Official Existing Definition. Move along now little dogies, nothing to bark at here….)

  14. Art Deco—Who knows.

I’d assume that, if this loss of the Trump Administration’s job application database was deliberate, whoever arranged to “disappear” the database made sure there were no backups—electronic or paper.

(I was actually a (young and misguided) volunteer for the Carter Administration, working to help in the initial staffing for that Administration, and sitting in a large office with a lot of other volunteers, and reading though the enormous numbers of SF-171s—constantly refilled boxes of them—that poured in from people wanting jobs in that Administration. Working with that much—or likely more— of a volume of actual paperwork would be a huge problem.)

However, I also do remember that study that came out, quite a few years ago, that found that somewhere around 50% or more of the Federal employees surveyed were using “password” as the password for their government computers.

  15. I’d assume that, if this loss of the Trump Administration’s job application database was deliberate, whoever arranged to “disappear” the database made sure there were no backups—electronic or paper.

Keep backing and filling. It’s cute.

PS: It looks like Vindman’s perjured himself so often that he’s succeeded in placing himself in danger—from himself; forcing Schiff to step in to defend him—and complain to the nation(!) that Vindman’s heroic histrionics have made him a potential target…. (Ah those experts in circularity….)

  17. fun fun fun…

turns out those documents that i put up links to were real and just a start

Joe Biden’s son and his partners received $16.5 million from Burisma — Ukrainian MP

The Ukrainian Office of the Prosecutor General has drawn up an indictment against the owner of the Burisma Holdings energy company, ex-Ecology Minister Nikolai Zlochevsky, that contains information that the son of former US Vice President Joe Biden, Hunter, as a Burisma board member along with his partners received $16.5 million for their services, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada MP from the ruling Servant of the People party Alexander Dubinsky told a press conference on Wednesday, citing the investigation’s materials. According to him, the money came from duplicitous criminal activity.

“Zlochevsky was charged with this new accusation by the Office of the Prosecutor General but the press ignored it,” the MP said. “It was issued on November 14.”

According to the politician, “the son of Vice-President Joe Biden was receiving payment for his services, with money raised through criminal means and money laundering.” He also clarified that “Biden received money that did not come from the company’s successful operation but rather from money stolen from citizens.”

Dubinsky stressed that the information on Hunter Biden’s income under his contract with Burisma is a “link that reveals how money is siphoned [from Ukraine].”

    [snip]
“We will reveal the information about the financial pyramid scheme that was created in Ukraine and developed by everyone beginning with Yanukovich and later by Poroshenko. This system is still working under the guidance of the current managerial board of the National Bank, ensuring that money flows in the interest of people who stole millions of dollars, took it offshore and bought Ukrainian public bonds turning them into the Ukrainian sovereign debt,” Dubinksy claimed. He then added that “in both cases of Yanukovich and Poroshenko, Ms. Gontareva and companies she controls were investing the stolen funds.”

Another Verkhovna Rada MP, Andrei Derkach, claimed that the US Franklin Templeton Investments management company was also involved in the scheme. “The investigation suggests that the Yanukovichs illegally obtained $7.4 billion and laundered it through an investment fund close to the US Democratic Party as government domestic loan bonds,” he pointed out.

and the eye is turning as Nancy Pelosi, and others are involved in other areas
her son was at another company… and some of that money above went to Kerry family as well…

  18. House intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff has come under scrutiny for reportedly having his own connection to a Ukrainian businessman.

Schiff, who has a leading role in Congress’ impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, is now facing questions about his link to businessman, Igor Pasternak.

Pasternak is the founder of Worldwide Aeros Corp, a manufacturer of airships aimed at both the military and commercial markets.

According to Fox News, Pasternak, who immigrated to American from Ukraine, has also been involved in weapons manufacturing.

Pasternak’s company has reportedly worked with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to produce a modified version of the M4 and M16 rifles.

The businessman has also hosted fundraisers in Washington, DC, for Schiff.

One such fundraiser occurred on July 18, 2013, at Pasternak’s DC home, according to PoliticalPartyTime.org.

At that time, Schiff was running for California’s 28th Congressional District.

The news of Schiff connection to Pasternak comes just a week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry into Trump.

  19. Can Trump be impeached for causing the Democrats to make complete arses of themselves?

I would think that that has got to be an impeachable offense—hey, maybe that was the strategy all along.

  20. Reuters: Ukraine widens probe against Burisma founder to embezzlement of state funds

    https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1XU2N7?__twitter_impression=true

A more complete story on the Burisma investigation.

Ukraine has widened its investigation into the founder of energy company Burisma to include suspicion of embezzling state funds, Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka said on Wednesday. […]
After he took office in late August, Ryaboshapka launched a wide-ranging audit of criminal cases to see whether they had been conducted properly. Thirteen of them relate to Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky, Ryaboshapka told reporters at a briefing on Wednesday.

Burisma did not respond to a request for comment.

Ryaboshapka’s predecessors oversaw a series of investigations into Zlochevsky, a multimillionaire former minister of ecology and natural resources. The allegations concern tax violations, money-laundering and licences given to Burisma during the period where Zlochevsky was a minister.

Ryaboshapka said Zlochevsky was now suspected of the “theft of government funds on an especially large scale,” but did not provide evidence or details. […]
The document, only part of which was visible, showed Kulyk suspected Zlochevsky of offences including using his official position to embezzle 800 million hryvnias ($33 million) of money belonging to the central bank.

The investigation is effectively on hold, however, because the Ukrainian authorities cannot determine Zlochevsky’s whereabouts.

  21. Read The Federalist articles about the day’s impeachment events and then read the articles by CNN. You will swear that they are talking about alternate universes.

  22. Dr Hill is an incredible woman…
if it weren’t for feminism, she would be a giant.. (she referred to how women are x or y, which when its a woman like this, i dont think it applies!!)
wow… she knows her stuff, and knows not to give supposition
it has been a great thing to hear her speak, and hear how completely aware and dedicated she is…

    wow.. a joy…
    made my day…

  23. Well how about that!

Rudi “Ninja” Giuliani is now joining the party big-tme, having concluded no doubt that if Schiff and Co. are going to finger him as the Sultan of Sleaze, then he’s going to get himself a place at the table, turn the tables on those impious impeachers and, while he’s at it, take down that “Man of Constant Meddling”—who has this uncanny talent of turning up…in all the places you’d expect him to…and then some.
    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/giuliani-explains-massive-pay-play-soros-ukraine-scheme-facilitated-us-diplomats

(Since all this involves Democrats then we’re NOT talking about “scandals”, of course; but it does look promising as far as the entertainment angle goes—stay tuned!)

  24. With all of the apparent “resistors” who apparently exist throughout the Federal bureaucracy, it’s not surprising that the Democrats who are part of the coup attempts trying to remove President Trump from office might have some idea—perhaps a pretty good idea—of what’s coming in Horowitz’ Report.

Now that its going to be the Trump Administration’s turn, the Horowitz Report is supposedly to be made public on December, 9—and it’s reportedly going to be very bad for the Democrats, for many key actors, and their interests—the Democrats and their virtually wholly owned MSM are apparently trying to get ahead of the bad news—to do some spin and damage control—downplaying the significance of what happened by leaking information they can point to and say, “whatever wrongdoing might have happened, it wasn’t of any real significance, and it wasn’t carried out by anyone of major importance.”

Thus, CNN, of all sources, is reporting, with fake “grave concern” that a “low-level” FBI lawyer—since gone from the government—is suspected of having made significant alterations to some of the documents used to obtain the FISA warrants.

This story has also been carried on several other news outlets today, and there have already been several updates/changes made to this story—at first it was just someone in the FBI, then is was an FBI lawyer, then someone “low-level,” and, along the way, a major fact that had been mentioned, that this “low-level lawyer” was reporting to Peter Strzok, somehow mysteriously vanished from some of the reporting on this story. *

Later stories said that the person who made the alterations to documents had already confessed to having done so, and even gave his name.

So, it looks like the coup plotters have found their first fall guy—apparently some spear carrier, way in the back of the chorus, left holding the bag, while the lead singers, way out in front, hope to continue to sing on.
