  1. She’s nurtured her amazing gifts…quite a powerful inspiration.
God grant the rest of us half her stamina & persistence.

  2. Remarkable! A good lesson on what can be done if you take very good care of your body.

LaLanne once said, “If something tastes good, spit it out”. There are benefits and costs to everything you do.

(BTW, Jim Fixx died at 52).

  4. Neo,
OK, then. If I break my neck trying to get an Axel, it’s going to be All. Your. Fault.

  5. I started lifting weights and doing Pilates in my mid-fifties. The weights I use are pathetic, of course, compared to what any male can do, but still, I look and feel a lot better at seventy than I did at fifty. For those who are able, some kind of weight-bearing or resistance exercise will help fend off aging. I have definitely reached use it or lose it age.

  6. Hers is a most rare blessing, with only her face showing rather modestly the ravages of time. She has no arthritis, no essential tremor, no evident varicose veins despite having borne three children. She remains remarkably flexible.

Put it down to DNA. She must have extraordinary cartilage in joints such as knees.

Floor exercises are the gentlest form of gymnastics, it must be noted.

  7. Cicero, it’s gentler than others. And she’s probably a small woman, since she’s done gymnastics all her life. However, I could not support my entire body on my hands, wrists bent, as she does. Nor could I do routines on the other gymnastic equipment she does.

  8. What I want to know is: how does she keep her glasses on and her hair unmussed?
    Human beings are incredible.

  9. Think I found the secret: “Her favourite pastime, true to her German roots, is whipping up dishes of pork knuckle and sauerkraut”. 🙂

  10. “pork knuckle and sauerkraut”
and I bet she still has a beer now and again!

That’d be enough to keep me alive for another 35 years.
