Will Hillary drop out of the race? — 46 Comments

  1. I think your analysis is correct, Neo. Hillary would solidify all the changes that Obama has made so he won’t allow any prosecution of Hillary to take place.

  2. A fourth possibility is that a just and righteous God makes a little vein in her brain go “pop” and its a semi-state funeral all around as we share Bill Clinton’s pain.

  3. Neo,

While I agree with your thoughts, I take a broader approach. Regardless of the specifics and the details, I think Hillary would withdraw at any point where she believes she can not (not could not) win.

For as much as she lusts after the oval office, I believe that her perception of the ignominy of a defeat would haunt her to her dying days.

Withdrawal she can always reconcile as “circumstances beyond her control.” Electoral defeat (as distinct from primary defeat), OTOH, is fundamentally destructive to her self-image.

  4. vanderleun, a just and righteous God has yet to take out Bill Clinton, why would He bother with the Mrs?

  5. Obama can now playing that this is a criminal investigation and make sure the contents of the server stay out of public in Congressional Republicans hands. He has the goods on her so he can indict her and force her out of the race anytime he. wants to. Suppose he waits until after she’s locked up the nomination but before the convention . Her delegates with and be free to choose any Kennedy to support even one that has not gone through any vetting. Since they know they cannot win the general election without a candidate that will get 90% of the black vote at the same intensity, Michelle Obama gets the nomination.

  6. Some things merit only a couple of remarks. The dem/popular support for this woman merits considerable remark, and a good deal of wondering what’s wrong with those people–her supporters.
    Are they not Americans?

  7. I also don’t see her dropping out absent a disaster (to her campaign) of biblical proportions. Questions about the email server are likely to follow her the rest of the way but I doubt they will actually cause her to drop out. I think it’s also useful to look at 2008. She fought Obama all the way to the convention and only capitulated when it was obvious that the superdelegates were not going to go nuclear and override the popular consensus behind BHO.

  8. Hillary is the personification of the left. All she has cared about her whole life is the acquisition and maintenance of power. Thus she will not easily drop out of the race.

Rodham and Bill damaged the US polity and need to be out of politics forever more along with an even worse successor, Hussein.

Since Hussein has pushed the country far into third world politics where only power and corruption matter, it is hard to know if he will push Rodham out. Let’ hope so. A Biden / Pocahontas ticket would not be as corrupt as the Clintons.

Let’s hope that God Blesses America in 2016.

  9. Cochrane

Ayers is still around too. Carter too. So are all those people who helped sabotage Afghanistan and Iraq, killing more Americans and civilians.

The soldier that fragged his own officers at the start of 2003 invasion of Iraq because of Islam and Muslims? He’s still alive, although his sentence was given out recently.

The Throne of God is either empty or God is giving us a gift. The gift of suffering and pain. Once we suffer enough, we will become enlightened due to mortification of the flesh and finally gain the Willpower to kill evil.

  10. Since Hussein has pushed the country far into third world politics where only power and corruption matter, it is hard to know if he will push Rodham out.

What happens when two mafia families fight it out? They both weaken. What happens when one mafia family wins and consolidates power?

  11. That isn’t to say the emails haven’t had an impact. As of right now I’d give no more than even money that Hillary will be the Dem’s nominee. I was much more certain earlier this year. She remains the front runner but there are certainly some candidates (Biden, Sanders) that look at least plausible. Against them I think she would go all the way to a convention floor flight. I’m pretty sure she feels entitled to the same ‘first woman’ acclimation that BHO received as ‘first non-white’.

  12. Some appropriately pithy alteration of William Tecumseh Sherman is in order on Hillary’s behalf (though I believe others can do better than I).

Say: ** If indicted I will not cease successfully campaigning for nomination; if tried I will win election; if convicted I will use my plenary powers of pardon. I am yours America and you are mine. There is no parting us. **

  13. Why is bho willing to provide damaging talk points to her eventual opponent if he wants her in the Oval Office come 2017? He can turn off this continual drip drip of damaging info with his famous phone and pen.

  14. Yeah, I don’t see Hillary dropping out until she is forced too. Her family’s wealth and power depend on this, in addition to her life-long dream of being the first woman president.

Another wrinkle today may just be the nudge required: a hacker claimed to have all of the emails that Hillary sent – 30K + of them – up for sale, but then was persuaded to turn them over to the FBI. Safe to assume that this set contain numerous communications Hillary did not include in her doc drop to State (and what was on her lawyer’s thumb drive).

If this batch includes her off the books SoS activities, such as discussions between her and the foundation re: favors requested by donors, look out!

  15. Transparency in politics brought to you by 4th gen crackers and hackers. Planned Profit needs a little bit of that treatment, and so does the rest of the treason crowd.

  16. Regarding Obama’s alleged hatred of the Clintons, I keep thinking about the fact that they partied together at Martha’s Vineyard just last month (see this story). If Obama is capable of partying with the Clintons on the one hand (and playing golf with Bill), only to ‘pivot’ and prosecute Hillary on the other, my God, that would truly be some Stalin level bad-assery on his part.

My guess is that the Clintons have kissed and made up with the Obamas and that the president will end up protecting her, even if it takes a pardon.

  17. Although it appears that Hillary has democrat voter support right now, I can’t imagine that these will be enthusiastic voters who will show up in droves for the primaries. I think Bernie Sanders has more of a ‘cult following’ and will likely gin up a lot of younger voters.

Did you see the meme going around about democrats who wouldn’t be voting for Hillary? Individual democrats (mostly women) were creating their own meme about Hillary and why they couldn’t vote for her.

As time drags on, I don’t see Hillary able to make it through the fire. I think many democrats will look at the email scandal, her handling of classified info, and start to think they don’t want a person like that as president.

  18. The only way she will stay in is if the republicans can get Trump thrown out… otherwise, her staying in will be a null and void operation as he will open his mouth on the facts unlike a republican member of the democrat club.

  19. Pablo panadero Says: Obama can now playing that this is a criminal investigation and make sure the contents of the server stay out of public in Congressional Republicans hands.

there is a hacker offering to give ALL the emails he has to the people that pay him a half million. they put out the email subject headers to show that they have them… after all, ms i cant handle technology didnt delete the outgoing emails and someone has copies for sale.

this hacker also kind of may end up having her put in jail, for if he/she has them, then who else may have them too?

  20. Politicians and those who crave power do not in general act like us or see things as we do. This is even more deeply true of Hillary Clinton. They live in bubbles where people deny reality, so projecting what a reasonable person might do is not relevant.

I have no doubt she thinks she can outrun this, however bad it looks, because she always has before. Barack Obama believes he can stonewall FOIA requests indefinitely because so far, it’s true. He can announce rather than negotiate policy because so far, it has worked.

I don’t like to use hyperbole like “tyranny,” in deference to my Eastern European friends who have seen the real deal. I don’t doubt that some of ours would be tyrants if given the chance, but power is still considerably dispersed in America. Obama and Clinton are tyrants by American standards, but that is still a mild form. Unfortunately, America’s power is a multiplier of the damage they can do.

Yet thinking in those terms does help us see what sometimes does happen. Tyrants look invincible until they day they are thrown out, at which point their vulnerabilities looks to have been obvious in retrospect.

  21. on another note:
Rand Paul: ‘It’s Absurd’ That Kentucky Clerk Was Taken Into Federal Custody

ah, but now she has the right to bring the action up to the supreme court!!! ie. she has been harmed by the policy and so on and so forth… so she CAN now proceed… without that, there would be no way to bring it forth as there is no way to directly show what is required before appearing.

  22. All indications are that Obama does not favor Hillary as his successor. Partying with the Clintons is the perfect means to distract the ‘ally of convenience’ from the coming shiv in the back.

There is considerable circumstantial evidence that he favors Biden/Warren. 300 ‘former’ Obama staffers writing Warren to ask her to run. Biden asking and getting Obama’s blessing. Biden visiting Warren.

Once is happenstance, twice coincidence, three times… enemy action.

A Biden-Warren ticket will be far more beholden to Obama, whereas Hillary would owe Obama nothing. Chicago politics is all about the relationship, favors rendered and favors owed.

As the evidence of Hillary’s incompetence, lawbreaking and lying continues to emerge her support declines. A majority of Americans now view her as untrustworthy and manipulative.

“If once you forfeit the confidence of your fellow-citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem.” A. Lincoln

The writing is on the wall. She will be forced out and an “October surprise” seems likely.

  23. I guess the state had a word with him… and he took back the financial offer and handed the records over to the feds…

Hacker Removes Hillary’s UNRELEASED Emails From Sale, Turns Over To FBI

The person who hacked into Hillary Clinton‘s email server has pulled the emails off the block and turned them over to the FBI, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

“After speaking with my lawyers” the hacker told Radar exclusively, “I was advised I could not legally sell these, and to get rid of them and turn in everything I had to FBI.”

As Radar previously reported, the hacker had initially requested $500,000 for a collection of more than 32,000 emails of the presidential candidate’s that they had claimed to possess.

Radar confirmed that Clinton had privately used the AOL-based account, and had chatted about everything from serious international subjects such as situations in Benghazi and Algeria, to lighter topics such as Valentine’s Day.
Clinton’s emails were prone to hackers after she “or someone from her camp erased the outbox containing her emails, but forgot to erase the emails that were in her sent box,” insiders told Radar.

“If these emails get out to the public domain, not only is Hillary finished as a potential Presidential nominee, she could put our country’s national security at risk.”

  24. I think Neo is right. Hillary is too far gone to ever concede defeat. And no one around her will explain how the general election campaign might go. And I think this is part of Obama’s calculus, too. If the right republican gets the nomination and goes totally negative, Hillary will lose and wish she had dropped out. In campaign terms, not much has really happened yet. My only fear is that the stupid party will once again nominate someone with no backbone.

  25. K-E, 2:31 pm — “I think many democrats will look at the email scandal, her handling of classified info, and start to think they don’t want a person like that as president.”

I see *no* evidence that *most* Democrats give a g#dd#mn. (There are an occasional few whose conscience pricks them every now and then.) As long as it’s someone who’ll further the left-wing / statist agenda, it’s perfectly fine with most Democrats. Don’t forget that many if not most Democrats are okay with Hillary and believe, along with Hillary — though I question the extent to which even she genuinely believes it — that it’s all partisan propaganda from the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

I’ll grant that many Democrats would prefer someone whose morals are tenth percentile instead of zeroth percentile (i.e., Hillary), but as long as there’s no consensus, most Democrats will settle for the acclamation of Hillary.

Remember, for many if not most Democrats, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are statesmen whose pronouncements are to be regarded Very Seriously, and who serve as the Conscience of the Party.

  26. I am surprised that so many people are overlooking one other possibility. Obama may have known all about Hildebeast’s secret email and may have ordered/winked at it himself.

Recall how many other Obama flunkies have done the same thing–IRS, EPA, Lois Lerner. How may others that we don’t know about? Did all these people do this all on their own or did O know all about it and even order it?

Other possibility…Even if O did not know, there may be mountains of secret information in there that could incriminate him as well.

H: I am sorry Ambassador Stevens, Barry has declined your request for more security in Libya.
Ambassador Stevens: Ok, thanks for trying. I am still loyal to the cause.
    H: Ok hang in there.

He could be in this as deep as she is and he will not be investigating or antagonizing her in any way. In this scenario, they are right now in the highest stakes prisoner’s dilemma but one in which the prisoners can talk to each other to select strategies.

  27. She will stay in.

Right now, she is considering her possible options and futures. One of those very possible and ever-more-likely futures is a term in jail. Her best protections against this are 1. She is a former First Lady, 2. She is a major Presidential candidate.

The PR blowback from jailing a First Lady/major Presidential contender would be prohibitive. By staying in the race, she will more adequately protect herself from jail time.

Dropping out of the race lowers her PR shield, and effectively sets the precedent for her trial that her royal status is trumped by this crime. This is not what she wants to do. She will stay in the race.

I’m more interested in President Obama’s reaction. He can’t pardon her, because in so doing he would admit her guilt and tie himself to her as a co-conspirator (e.g. Gerald Ford). On the other hand, he can’t let her go to trial either. He will work to get the charges dropped, and failing that will go for a settlement.

  28. VL, 8:06 pm — “I’m more interested in President Obama’s reaction. He can’t pardon her, because in so doing he would admit her guilt and tie himself to her as a co-conspirator (e.g. Gerald Ford).”

Gerald Ford had a conscience and loved his country.

I completely fail to see that President Hopenchange gives a d#mn about any guilt: hers, his, or the man-in-the-moon’s. Guilt, shmilt, as Jewish dudes might exclaim. If USA is undermined, that’s all that matters — all for the better, actually — and the only other thing that matters is his retirement perks upon leaving office.

  29. Bho, needless to say but many seem to forget, is a prodigy of the chicago way. Embrace your friends, but hold your enemy closer.

There is nothing president hrc can give ex-president bho. Conversely, in a biden-warren White House he can have an extremely strong hold on the exercising of executive power and control the 2020 selection by giving the crown to the first Native American female president. In his mind it will be the dawning of the thousand year obama reich.

  30. I think Neo hit all the right points. I do think Biden is going to enter the race before the end of September, and I think her support will melt away rapidly. I think as Iowa approaches, there will be a leak from the DOJ that an indictment is being considered. After she loses Iowa and New Hampshire, whether she withdraws or not will be irrelevant.

  31. Bho doesn’t see replacing hrc as a risk, he believes he can lift a biden-warren ticket across the finish line. He is the smartest person in any room in all of human history and knows more about everything under the sun than everyone else that has ever walked the planet. He is a true believer, and why should he not believe?

In 2008 young women fainted at the mere sound of his voice, pretend conservatives marveled at the crease of his pants, while idiots got a tingle up the leg, and millions annoited this king of the 57 states with a second term. He believes the mirror on the wall, any wall, is telling him he is the fairest of them all. Nothing he has encountered gives him reason to believe otherwise.

  32. HRC emails currently in the hands of the FBI — just received — may destroy her ring fence.

All that would be necessary: emails that she deleted that were plainly not of a personal nature — and damning of her official performance.

This could take the form of embarrassing assumptions// predictions or silly and foolish argumentation.

From what little I’ve seen, her writing style is that of a high school sophomore dashing off a tweet.

This sage pol may prove out to be a logical ditz, and undeniably so.

Like the President, HRC needs prepared text to talk. She’s no Cruz, no Fiorina. Ums and ahs are riven through her oral delivery.

  33. Re the previous post by blert: it appears the FBI took possession this morning of some 32,000 emails that a hacker stole from her server. Talk about blind justice! some hacker was able to download these messages from her server. No matter what Obama wants to do, he probably just lost some maneuvering space. And so did Hillary. Perhaps she’ll decide it would be better to quit now rather than try to explain all the lies that will show up following this latest release. Or perhaps the Director of the FBI will lose these emails. Popcorn, please!

  34. I suspect, but of course can not prove , ‘some hacker’ is a team obama operative who has been monitoring hrc’s closet server from the get go. As GB noted, the 3rd time is enemy action. Bringing down the clintons is the choom gang boy’s wet dream. And given the failure of team obama to end the doj investigation and stem the ‘leaks’ to protect hrc, it looks like the night of the long knives will descend upon team clinton.

This is a feud, and there will be blood.

  35. It is fairly obvious that Obama has it in for Hillary. Bill’s recent golf game with Pres. Hussein was a negotiation. Who knows what he brought to the golf cart? This chess game is being played entirely out of public view, as usual and as necessary.

But I also think Pres. Hussein has done a deal with Biden, who is as low a snake as exists in DC, aside from Hussein. I think he will be the Dem nominee. If Hussein decides not to call a national emergency the day before the election and declare martial law, that is.

  36. She already takes blood thinners. The health issue is a very real one. She is too heavy, under a lot of stress, and her campaigning is sluggish probably due to energy and health problems. She is not the same person she was in 2008 and it shows in everything she does. I think she goes out with a real health scare or issue.

  37. She’s going to drop out but first she’s going to make us all so sick of her BS story that we don’t have the energy left to pursue her through the courts. Well, we will but the people in authority will have been bought off or scared off or wearied off and the nasty old bag will live out her life in unearned luxury.

I think you are right in saying that BHO believes this but the proof that he can actually do it is lacking. The Democrats wouldn’t be at an ebb not seen since in almost a century if his electoral ability were even somewhat transferable.

  39. The ONLY way she will drop out is a conviction. That is not going to happen anytime soon if at all because it would take Obama to give the green light and Bill and Hillary is sitting there with who knows what on Obama.

  40. It should be noted that if she drops out, she’s allowed by law to keep her campaign donations. Not officially for herself, of course, but she could donate them to a “charity” that just happens to employ family and friends and cronies….

  41. Don’t underestimate the power of the Left or else you might regret it.

What proof is there that the Left’s God King has had his authority over the zombie army decreased? Are they going to disobey their God King now when they obeyed before?

  42. Elliott. You stole my thunder. I agree with you. It’s going to be not JUST a health scare. It will be one that elicits gobs of syrup and sympathy and cheers of her “Courage” as she bows out “reluctantly”. This way she will also try to escape the debts she owes to every Govt and Busuness that bought this prostitute that sold out her country. Look for an emergency hospitalization and weeks of speculating and clutching of pearls at CNN, NBC, CBS, PBS.
