IRS, Obamacare. What could possibly go wrong? — 15 Comments

  1. Just another attempt at damage control. A fish rots from the head down. Though he’ll never admit it, Obama knew. All the false indignation and protestations of innocence but attempts at establishing plausible deniability.

  2. “IRS, Obamacare. What could possibly go wrong?”

Oh my, it was a really bad law on so many levels, but now these IRS revelations. May be the nail in the coffin. Another good TEA Party issue. To the streets, I say!

  3. As to the addendum – are they reporting that the reason this administration obtained the AP phone records was because AP wouldn’t sit on a story long enough to allow the administration to achieve the greatest possible political damage control before it was released?

  4. “Though he’ll never admit it, Obama knew.”

IMO it doesn’t matter. His job is to manage and control the executive branch; he is not doing so. It is his job to set the tenor of his administration. Whether he has actively set this as its tenor or whether his underlings are doing so without his interference, he is responsible. His protestations aside, the buck does stop at his Resolute desk.

  5. Surprise, surprise we discover Team Obama is using the heavy hand of bureaucracy to intimidate and isolate political opponents and is co-opting the 4th estate to deflect criticism. This is 100% out of the Chicago playbook. Perhaps enough shit has hit the fan to stick on BO, Holder, Hillary, and their lackeys. Even the Chicago papers are piling on.

The phrase “chickens coming home to roost” should be familiar to BO. 😉

  6. Only white supremists should fear this news. Our dear leader has foreseen that they would attempt to thwart his transformation of the inequitable capitalist society and graciously provided the solution with his prophetic foresight. All hail the Leader.

  7. I’ve never been a chief executive myself — never ever been close. But I know a thing or two.

A chief executive sets a tone. S/he does this via direct talks, directives, example, and *mindset*. His/her lieutenants communicate all those to their underlings, who communicate to their underlings, and the example and mindset filter down to the trenches.

Most employees wish to please their superiors, who in turn wish to please their superiors, all the way back to the chief executive — and they are generally very motivated to implement what the chief executive wants done.

No, the incumbent dirtbag possibly did not have *specific* knowledge of what his underlings’ underlings were doing. It would not be surprising. What *would* be surprising, surprising in the extreme, is if the underlings believed deep down that they were doing the opposite of what their chief executive wished.

Newsflash: they were doing very much *as* their chief executive wished, and with plausible deniability on the part of the chief, EXCEPT —

Except in this instance, for anyone whose IQ is at least room temperature and who is not a hopeless cult worshipper or leftward ideologue, it’s not even plausible.

    Not even close . . .

  8. MJR,

All true and everyone with that room temperature IQ knows it. Doesn’t matter if more evidence of wrongdoing doesn’t keep emerging.

Obama and his minions will continue to deflect, distort, obstruct and obfuscate as much as possible, as long as possible. They’ll throw as many sacrificial sheep upon the altar of public censure as needed.

The best that can be hoped for is that all of this derails the left’s agenda in 2014 and 2016.

None of this however will change the low-information voter’s belief in the left’s narrative.

sharpie is apparently trying out for the role of Chris Mathews clone, who recently said this:

The problem is there are people in this country, maybe ten percent, I don’t know what the number, maybe twenty percent on a bad day, who want this president to have an asterisk next to his name in the history books, that he really wasn’t president. … They want to be able to say, well, he didn’t really have that batting average; he really wasn’t the first African American president; he really didn’t do health care; he really didn’t kill bin Laden. There’s an asterisk, and they have been fighting for that, the people like Donald Trump, since day one. They can’t stand the idea that he’s president, and a piece of it is racism. Not that somebody in one racial group doesn’t like somebody in another racial group, so what? It’s the sense that the white race must rule, that’s what racism is, and they can’t stand the idea that a man who’s not white is president. That is real, that sense of racial superiority and rule is in the hearts of some people in this country. Not all conservatives, not even all right-wingers, but it always comes through with this birther crap and these other references and somehow trying to erase ObamaCare, erase his record in history, and a big part of it is bought into by people like John Boehner, who’s not a bad guy, but he knows the only way he can talk to the hard right is talk their language.

As has been apparent for quite some time, any parody of lib-speak usually turns out to be a repetition of what some lib has already said. Any attempted parody of lib-speak turns out to be mere paraphrase. You cannot ridicule them- they have already said it.

  10. And of course there is little to no coverage of any of these scandals in the newspapers. When you read the “conservative” blogs you think that there is a lot of talk about the various scandals -then click through to even the WSj or read your local paper(in my case a Gannett paper)and there is not much. Again the “average” person i am sure is totally unaware or believes whatever yahoo headline shows up.I used to think that it would take us 20 years to hit 3rd world status.Clearly we have arrived.

  11. This is the President that referred to the citizens that disagree with him as “enemies”. His supporters and the press (but I repeat myself) are merely living out the natural course of action that accompanies that reality. It began with ramming Obamacare through Congress, a bill by its massive size could not have even been read in entirety by those voting for it let alone properly examined, and unwanted by a sizable number of the constituents. So no surprises here, as to what the ideologues among us have wrought.

  12. Sharpie, that should be racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, climate denialists

    Gringo, lighten up.

  13. My wife is a fairly low level IRS employee, and they are all laughing their heads off at the idea that anyone as low on the totem pole as is being suggested could do anything without a Federal Marshal at that employee’s desk before coffee break.

Notice, also, how there is an attempt to say that the political persecution was confined to that one local office in Cincinnati. That is not a local office. That is the office designated to determine tax-exempt status. Other centers around the country have other tasks, like issuing Taxpayer ID numbers to the children of illegals so that they can get Extra Child Credit, which can exceed the tax paid many times over. The obvious, utterly blatant lie should get our attention and hold it. This is not behavior characteristic of someone who wants to tell the whole truth, not in the least.
