And this one from Obama seems positively bizarre. It accuses Romney of making a false accusation, and then gives evidence that his accusation is true. To whom is it targeted, and who would it convince that it’s Romney who’s at fault and not Obama? Only the already-convinced—and it might even lose some of them:

As neo pointed out yesterday, it’s not a matter of logic, or reasoning, or even of understanding and/or parsing the words that were spoken — it’s a matter of appealing to the terminally unthinking and uncritical.

Romney and his surrogates need to make this a major issue from now until November. Keep hammering this nail that BHO has left standing up. I am a bit dismayed by the negative, self-defeating attitude of many on the right concerning the ‘wisdom’ of the American public. BHO & MSM fooled many once, they will fool far, far fewer this time around. I love the smell of victory on election day. Inside the voting booth there are no racists.
Trying to set aside my recreational Romney-bashing, the Obama ad is actually well-cut. It makes the lefty, communalist case that Obama probably wishes he would have articulated.
The Romney one, particularly juxtaposed with the Obama one, shows that Mitt is attacking a strawman. It’s getting to be much like Palin saying she can see Russia from her house. The repeated misrepresentation takes precedence over the actual words.
To engage in my recreational Rmoney-bashing, my first thought at seeing “Gilchrist Metal Fabricating” was to wonder if that was one of the companies that Bain gutted.
That is the emotional reaction Obama’s campaign is setting up. M J R is right, it ain’t about logic. Every success the Romney campaign will use as an example can (will?) be tainted (replaced?) by Obama making vague claims about outsourcing and closing factories.
Since I haven’t been around here much, let me remind my usual antagonists that by logic, I agree completely that Obama sux and Romney is way better. Too bad that Romney isn’t good enough for the problems at hand…

Interest in..ohhh, say…History, Biography, Scholarly Journals, the Founding Fathers, Federalist Papers, Mideast ANYTHING…? His predecessor had a voracious appetite for reading–ya know, books? Not so, The Boy King. But, hey, his predecessor had tremendous strength of character, grit, honor, practical intelligence, follow-through, ease of leadership and love of country.
