  1. The women would get a kick out of the shrinkage.

FWIU, nudists are an aging bunch. Who really wants to see a gaggle of 60-70 year old Europeans and California wannabees?

  2. FYI there are two types of people in this world, dedicated nude swimmers and those who have not tried it yet.

Next time you are at the beach and can’t find a place to change into a swim suit remember we nudists are laughing at you.

As for nude Antarctica tours, I hope they include dog sledging; it will toughen the spirit.

  3. Not my cuppa, that’s for sure. But it’s nice to know these people are not being discriminated against

I wonder how they handle the formal dining aspect of it? Maybe men wear bow ties and women wear big jewels? Or is all dining “resort casual?” Maybe they bring a “formal” or “dress-up” towel to sit on for formal nights and a “casual” towel on the other nights? Ah, the questions that spring to mind.

  4. I’ve never found clothing to be a “social or physical burden,” but then I grew up in the Midwest, where winters are shockingly cold, and the right clothing can literally save your life.

NJcon, I was wondering if they staff these cruises with nudists too. Of course, in an emergency it might be a tad difficult to respond quickly to orders from someone–say a First Officer, or Captain–who was stark naked. Maybe they’d let the staff at least wear their hats.

  5. I’ve never been to a nude beach, much less a nude cruise, but I’ve been around various (European, always European) women who insist on going topless, on beaches from Elat to Bali, even on mostly-Muslim Lombok. While they may have enjoyed the “freedom”, it’s a fair bet that most onlookers would have been happier if most-not all-of them had covered up. And just to show that I’m “fair” about it, their hangbellied husbands with the skimpy Speedos didn’t help the ambiance any. Nude cruise? I’ll pass.
