What’s going on with the feds… — 7 Comments

  1. Obama wants this to be a major ongoing event with lasting environmental damage that can be pointed to in the fall.

See? Bush and the Republicans did this. Do you want more of this?

    The fact that the

We Just Got Here and are Working To Fix Their Mess

narrative is going on so long as to be risible hasn’t penetrated those progressive noggins, as witness Pelosi’s answer to the question of just when they’re going to start taking responsibility for their actions and stop blaming George W. Bush:

    When the problems stop happening

and there you have it. A problem is, by definition, something caused by George W. Bush.

It was Laura who picked that apple, don’t you know?

  2. I used to think this would be called The Age of Compromise; now I think it will definitely be called The Age of Hypocrisy….

  3. It’s a good thing ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, the New York Times, and The Associated Press have their top investigative reporters looking into every angle of this story, and their anchors and editors are eager to report to all Americans whatever incompetence, negligence, and other malfeasance on the part of the federal government is uncovered.

(Yes, that’s an old observation, which expired 01/20/2009, and won’t be revived any sooner than 01/20/2013.)

  4. Eh, those reporters are helping Obama figure out whose ass to kick – they are probably out amongst the fisherman studiously taking notes.

  5. I’m guessing they’re sitting on this (and all other reasonable suggested moves) so that when they take control of all efforts away from BP and any other private sector movers (which they will probably do soon), they can move quickly to do what they wouldn’t let anyone else do, and try to reap political/PR benefits from being the Johnny-on-the-Spot federal rescue squad/government. Plus it will make BP look even worse = good for Obama.

  6. The reason those booms weren’t immediately put to use by the government is that they were recommended by two Republican senators. And anybody want to make a small bet on what party the owner of the company belongs to?
