A psychiatrist for Chavez: ¡Mé¡s ré¡pidamente, por favor! — 49 Comments

  1. I just found your blog and I just watched the United Nations speech by the wacko…wow…you really summed up nicely what I am thinking…these folks are insane…
I will add you to my daily list…good blog!

  2. Was this the ‘lesser Satan’ (Chavez, or Small Stuff) echoing the “Greater Satan?” (Ahmadinejad)
Or the Father and son of LIES.

The UN has has hosted its share of vile creatures over the decades. These are two of the most despised. And the MSM will love them.

“It was so breathtakingly duplicitous, that I could barely listen to the translation and 45 minutes into it had to turn it off. I would have sooner looked at a piece of vile pornography than continue to listen to him.” (Dr. Sanity 9/20/06)
    http://drsanity.blogspot.com/2006/09/spectrum-of-stupidity_20.html

  3. So much bombast, so little substance. I’m sort of shocked that I’m making this admission, but even I expected more of Chavez than what he ultimately gave. And I generally have a dim view of him to begin with.

Why do so many confuse braggadocio with eloquence? If this is what Chavez has to offer, he’s a pretty one dimensional, shallow being.

  4. Here is the problem these little dictators like Chavez and Ahmadinejad are having–they think they can take their hokey little small town hysterics that got them into power in their little backwaters–they think they can take this circus act to the world stage and make it work out for them.

They don’t seem to understand that the idiots who helped them grab power and stay in power back home wouldn’t last a day in any position of responsibility or importance. In other words, they’re smalltime and theyre going to stay small time because their little dictator acts don’t scale up very well.

  5. It was Kofi Annan I saw on the t.v. yesterday, saying that he had “the most exalted job in the world”

  6. Good fun for us leftists. The crowd of international diplomats seemed to enjoy it, judging by the laughter and applause.

  7. The speach was not surprising, but the applause was a little strange. He may be used to backwater audiences at home, as Mansur pointed out, but apparently he got the same audience at the UN.

  8. Well, from a devil’s advocate position, the dictators watch our media closer than we do (as a population), and the media sure seems to take the U.N. seriously.

We, who pay for it… not so much.

Chavez and Iran’s whackjob (nope, don’t have his name stored for cut ‘n paste) could probably get a show on the Comedy Channel, though.

Or do campaign consulting with Carville, Blumenthal, and Begalla.

It would be a lot funnier if millions of people weren’t living in dictatorship and millions more weren’t marking the days until one or the other of these clowns gets serious about ending western civ. Chavez will be racing Zimbabwe for worst economy within a year or three; the killing will come from the 12th Imam’s road builder.

And we’ll just wait and watch until enough people die.

  9.
The 3 speeches, Bush then Ahmadinejad and Chavez are a metaphor for a conversation between the 3 representatives of their political cultures. Bush, with his conciliatory tone – followed by pompous arrogance and name-calling. Yes, there were many in the audience who cheered Ahmadinejad’s lies and Chavez’s ‘Satan’ remarks. Good. If the ones who cheered don’t like the US it means that the US is doing the right thing. If they start liking the US it means we are on the way down as a civilization.

  10. Wadsworth: Professor Plum, you were once a professor of psychiatry specializing in helping paranoid and homicidal lunatics suffering from delusions of grandeur.

Professor Plum: Yes, but now I work for the United Nations.

Wadsworth: So your work has not changed.

The movie “Clue” – 20 years ahead of its time?

  11. CNN: 6,600 Iraqis killed in two months

If one scales according to our relative populations that would be equivalent to approximately 70,000 americans killed in two months.

  12. “Here is the problem these little dictators like Chavez”

Man is this the height of ignorance or what!

  13. Did anybody else get the sense that Chavez and Ahmadamnutjob were really speaking to the American left? They were certainly pushing all the right buttons. Ahmadamnutjob sounded vaguely New Age-ish with his pleas for justice and equality, and condemnation of nuclear weapons; while Chavez waved a Chomsky book around and called Bush “the Devil”.

  14. And victimhood! I completely forgot about that. I was just over at Dr. Sanity’s and remembered that Ahmadamnutjob went on and on about victimhood at the hands of the West.

    Boo! The evil West.

The libs will eat it up.

  15. I’m sure that all over America today, leftists are marveling at how caring and compassionate Chavez and Ahmadamnutjob are; and how evil Bush still is.

  16. There is some problem pertinent to the whole Latino culture: admiration of melodramatic gestures and poses, that is so typical of Castro’s Castille retoric, makes almost every public figure from South America look like maniac or Mexican soap opera hero. What is even worse, this style of speech and thought tends to isolate these lads from reality.

  17. My favorite of all time was Nikita Kruschev pounding his shoe on the table at the UN. Any man who pounds his shoe on a table at the UN and says things like “we will bury you” is A-Ok in my books. God I loved that! Then of course there was the time greasy old arafat showed up at the UN with an AK and olive branch. When we get stung by the antics of an opponent, we tend to forget history. Of course back then we could predict our enemies and didn’t have to worry about them blowing up our children and beheading aid workers. Our enemies only wanted our soldiers dead back then.

  18. I wish I had a time machine to drop in on our troll class in 10 years or so and see how things are going for them. I suspect not well. They think they can declare themselves limmaculately neutral and the brutal armies will pass them by unscathed. They’re mistaken.

  19. Who could forget Noreiga of Panama waving that machete around, huffing and puffing like a buffoon. Who could forget him looking so diminished, cuffed and on a plane headed for the US surrounded by US Marshals? Remember when he holed up in that church or was it an embassy and how our troops blasted him non-stop with loud rock n’ roll music until he came out? OMG! For hilarious!

  20. Pete, you used to give us a long list of numbers. What’s wrong? It seems even the Dems are saying bring the troops him when Iraqis are able to take care of themselves. We’re staying, we’re staying! Nyah! Nyah! Neener neener neener! Rolling in the blood, Pete’s a stick in the mud, Bush’s our bud – nyah! Nyah!

  21. Let us see, at the U.N. Chavez says the United States will be defeated soon, Ahmadinejad says a prayer for the 12th Imam to rule the earth, and leftists rejoice.

What happened to the American left? They seem to desire suicide, just like our enemies.

  22. Chavez says the United States will be defeated soon

Chavez is quite careful to differentiate between American citizens and the administration.

  23. J.H.,

I’ve said it before and I imagine many have, including the hostess: the left desires an ideal state of being, and the present is anything but ideal (and always has been); therefore, any change, even (self-) destructive change, is seen as potential for “progress.” There is this view that the one can “tear the %$&*@#$ thing down” and not have it fall on one’s own head.

  24. “The imperialists see extremists everywhere.”.. Short Stuff Chavez!

Having just read about the rise of Napoleon, it seems to me this comment above describes Hugo’s ambitions well.

He WANTS to be imperial; dictators/Left ALWAYS blame others for their personal ambitions. The big question for the US is: are Peru, Colombia, Mexico (anti Chavez) and Argentina, Brasil, and others (not yet committed) resistant?
Chavez has toadies in place already in several SA countries (Bolivia). Will other SA neighbors feel threatened by his megalomania?
Or will they instead be willing to submit to his empire? That’s the power behind read his speech. Here’s hoping Hugo’s overreach will topple the little tin god.

  25. If Bush was a Devil, why didn’t Bush send in the US Marines to take Chavez out of the New York building and execute him on the spot? Chavez understands that he is surrounded by US forces right? Chavez understands that he is on US soil, right?

Or maybe Chavez understands that propaganda doesn’t have to bear any resemblance to real consequences…

  26. Chavez is the hero of the moonbat left, like Castro, Obrador, Ortega, and now Ahmadinejad.

Insane? Sure he’s insane—but so are they!
    ;=)

  27. Anonymous says,
“Good fun for us leftists. The crowd of international diplomats seemed to enjoy it, judging by the laughter and applause.”

That’s because they’re idiots. They loved it the Hutus were murdering the Tutsis and laugh it up when the Arabs massacre the blacks in Darfur. Yeah a real riot.

  28. I do have to say, ‘The devil’ isn’t as good as ‘Mr. Danger’.

“Have I invaded a country? Have Venezuelans invaded somewhere? Are we bombing some city? Are we promoting coup d’etats? Are we using the CIA to kill presidents? Are we harboring terrorists in Venezuela? That is Bush!”

    – Hugo Chavez

Hard to argue with that. And, believe it or not, some people judge you by what you do rather than what you say.

  29. Then what about judging people by what they won’t do? They refuse to intervene to protect the innocent yet applaud the leftists kooks who chose to pursue a violent overthrow? Interesting…

  30. Oh and I love the idea that we harbor terrorists when FARC is Chavez’s best friend. And the CIA can’t keep secrets from the New York Times so the notion that they’re out there trying to kill Chavez is weak indeed.

  31. ‘Intervene to protect the innocent’? What on earth are you talking about? It can’t be Iraq, because then I’ll KNOW you’re crazy.

  32. TALKING BACK TO HUGO clown :”Have I invaded a country?
Answer: “Yes (see below) and you are massing a large army for some reason other than ‘self defense. You have employed economic blackmail freely (Bolivian energy supplies to Brasil, for one). There are many ways of invasion.”

    Have Venezuelans invaded somewhere?
A: “Yes, from Ecuador to Bolivia (successful) to Peru (not successful) and Mexico (not successful) pro Chavez forces have attempted to seize control of autonomous nations.”

    Are we bombing some city?
A: “OUR SECRET: We are planning that. Please see our build up of arms (above). And our (stupid!) purchase of warplanes from Iran.”

    Are we promoting coup d’etats?
A: “(Why doth Hugo protest so much??!) Actually that’s in the cards, too! (see Mexico; please stay tuned)”

Are we using the CIA to kill presidents?
A: “PERTINENT question. Let’s investigate ALL recent assassination attempts through Central/SAmerica. Can any of them be tied to Chavez Intelligence/symphathizers?”

Are we harboring terrorists in Venezuela?
A: “As many as we can get. From drugs to illegal arms, come and get ’em. Our ties to Iranian fanaticism PROMISE more Muslim terrorist groups setting up shop.”

    That is Bush!”

A: “Well, It’s ME– Hugo Megalomaniac. The American MSM says you twits are too stupid to worry (and I am sociopathic enough to believe that, too!)”

Concluding: “believe it or not, some people judge you by what you do rather than what you say.”

A: HLVS: Please JUDGE the US by what the US 7th Fleet did recently, when it conducted ‘exercises’ near Caracas. Hugo ran barking.
May I recommend your reading up on Theodore Roosevelt? And.. oh, it’s not just a big stick anymore.

  33. 09/21/06 AP: Torture reaches new depths in Iraq. Torture in Iraq is reportedly worse now than it was under deposed president Saddam Hussein, the United Nations’ chief anti-torture expert said Thursday.

  34. HLVS says,
“‘Intervene to protect the innocent’? What on earth are you talking about? It can’t be Iraq, because then I’ll KNOW you’re crazy.”

What on earth are YOU talking about? Exactly what are your friends in the UN doing about Darfur? After all, they worked so well at curbing that genocide in Rwanda. Believing in the UN to actually stop violence, only the insane think so. lol

  35. And I don’t recall much beyond token protest from the UN during Saddam’s reign when he butchered his own people. Hmmm, a problem that.

  36. 09/21/06 AP: “Nowak has yet to make an official visit to Iraq, and said such a mission would not be feasible as long as the security situation was so dangerous. He based his comments on interviews with people during a visit to Amman, Jordan and other sources.”

    Pete, that was so lame.

  37. Cluck cluck cluck how inappropriate! Why, how dare he? how brash cluck, such bad form, cluck improper and unseemly. Unlike Chavez you are all so totally predictable, which is what draws me back. Challenge any of the points in the speech? No, here they only swoon over how un-PC he was.Does anyone here even know what hegemonic means? Pick up some Chomsky.Should the Superpowers have vetoe power? Is the US acting as an empire? Would the movement of the nonaligned provide a valuable countervailing force? Cluck

  38. To kill Chaves is a good idea. But to charge with it CIA would be a blunder. They never were able to do such things properly, and now, when they leak at every opportunity to play dirty tricks on Bush, it is absolutely inappropriate. But if I were at Board of Directors of British Petroleum, for example, I would seriously considered to hire a professional killer amongst local bandits (there lots of them in Venezuela, of course). It certainly would be much cheaper than expected losses due to nationalization. Private initiative is always more effective than governmental bodies.

  39. “Challenge any of the points in the speech? No, here they only swoon over how un-PC he was…”

    He made points? Where?

    Excerpts:
“The devil is right at home. The devil, the devil himself, is right in the house.

“And the devil came here yesterday. Yesterday the devil came here. Right here.” [crosses himself] “And it smells of sulfur still today.” .

“Yesterday, ladies and gentlemen, from this rostrum, the president of the United States, the gentleman to whom I refer as the devil, came here, talking as if he owned the world. Truly. As the owner of the world.
I think we could call a psychiatrist to analyze yesterday’s statement made by the president of the United States. As the spokesman of imperialism, he came to share his nostrums, to try to preserve the current pattern of domination, exploitation and pillage of the peoples of the world.”

“An Alfred Hitchcock movie could use it as a scenario. I would even propose a title: “The Devil’s Recipe.”

“As Chomsky says here, clearly and in depth, the American empire is doing all it can to consolidate its system of domination.”

“Yes, you can call us extremists, but we are rising up against the empire, against the model of domination. “

Sounds more like bombast than “points”.

  40. Trousky is so dense, I don’t know why still comes here. is it for the benefit of a hot patch to his neuron infrastructure?

Chavez’s points are true if Chavez is dead, and since Chavez ain’t dead, what Chavez said isn’t true. It can’t get any simpler than that, so I don’t know what all the Leftists keep not getting it.

  41. troutsky says,
“Should the Superpowers have vetoe power? Is the US acting as an empire? Would the movement of the nonaligned provide a valuable countervailing force? Cluck”

This character should learn how to spell ‘veto’ before mouthing off his usual nonsense. I don’t mind him using the plural for superpower but ‘veto’ is four letters man. lol

  42. According to the New York Times, the UN organizers of the event had to quiet the crowd down, that the applause had gone on for so long that he received the longest ovation of any other speech at the event.

  43. Anonymous says,

“According to the New York Times, the UN organizers of the event had to quiet the crowd down,”

Well I think that proves our point about the farce called the UN doesn’t it? If they enjoy the parroted slogans of a hack leftist dictator then it doesn’t speak well of that crowd.
