What’s Obama’s problem? — 18 Comments

  1. Why shouldn’t he be proud of his intentions, whether they produce results or not? Isn’t that what he won a Nobel Peace Prize for?

  2. I’m not sure if it would be more disturbing to discover Psaki believes this, or if she believes other people are stupid enough to accept this pathetic spin.

For some reason, it reminds me of this awesome take down of Obama diplomacy by a Danish journalist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erYpXzE9Pxs

  3. She should hold #hastag# signs instead of speaking. Can’t they find anyone more vapid?

  4. Unfortunately, our anti-American regime mean what they say. In their perverse logic, the loss of respect, prestige and fear enables America to be better, to be good, to forsake power over other countries. Obama accomplished that. while increasing federal power against American citizens.

Obama, of course, can’t say he accomplished that, but it was his real goal resulting from his Weltanschauung. So we our elite self-declared masters and spokespersons for the regime claim Obama hasn’t taken enough credit, they aren’t being tongue in cheek or even self-deluding.

And after a long period of decline, if we are sincere and apologetic, maybe we too can claim a place at the table with our moral and noble masters.

    But I doubt it.

What a great piece of Danish work.
    2,500,000 views and counting.
    Thanks.

  6. Psaki’s body language indicates that she actually believes that about Obama. Ideological idealists frequently engage in rhetorical denial, when reality fails to support their ideology.

At Lizzy’s Danish link, Obama’s repetitive lack of originality is amusing but I was equally struck by the various leader’s lack of engagement, most realized it was a wasted trip with nothing to show for it but empty platitudes and a photo op.

  7. Cornhead, that assumes Obama sees any failures that happen to him as actually being caused by him – which has never occurred (yes, passive voice is intentional).

The Danish clip demonstrates just how transparently awful Obama is at diplomacy. He fails to charm or connect with even the friendliest, low-maintenance allies. This should be easy given how the MSM has portrayed our charismatic and eloquent, smartest president ever, no?. Russia and Iran have demonstrated what a failure he is with challenging diplomatic relationships.

  8. The best policy, related by a genius becomes doctrine for decades. (e.g. George Kennan, George Washington)

The best policy, related by a nitwit leaves one with doubts about whether they can enact the strategy. (no examples, because nitwits don’t come up with best policies)

The worst policy, related by a genius will be tried because maybe they see something we don’t. (Nixon/Kissinger to China, Keynesianism)

The worst policy, related by a nitwit stuns the audience with disbelief. (Obama, Psaki, the whole Obama administration, Carter)

Obama chose C- and D-level representatives, mainly for their political loyalty. It’s very hard to project sincerity or competence with spokespeople like Jen Psaki, even assuming that you think the doctrine is sound.

  9. Oh, and not only is Psaki a nitwit, she looks like she just graduated from college. She speaks like it, too. The only person with less gravitas is Tommy Vietor.

  10. Psaki is an arrogant nitwit. You can just tell that she always got A-plusses from her Ivy League professors, and regards the reporters as shambolic and impertinent. Note the birdlike dip of the head, and the firm closure of the lips: she’s pretty now, but imagine her in purse-lipped, disapproving middle age. Oh, and that is a classic Vassarette bob, isn’t it?

  11. Psaki is a highschool class president trying to imagine “What would Madeleine Albright do in this situation?”
