Separated at birth? — 29 Comments

  1. It may be quite a stretch — but it certainly is funny. Thanks for the laugh, Neo.

  2. One is dead and the other not so much however the lady has a face that looks like a bit of nip-n-tuck smooth compared to the turkey neck.

  3. OdTexan, you wrote “one is dead and the other not so much.” I would agree: one is dead, and the other deader. Or better: O’Toole’s soul lives on whereas Sebelius is soul-dead.

  4. It’s really not fair to compare O’Toole with any ordinary mortal.

In his prime, he was one of those sublimely gorgeous men with an almost pretty face. I think the actor who comes closest today is Simon Baker, the guy in The Mentalist TV series.

  5. Another demonstration of the little known fact that natural diversity is quite limited and restricted to enumerable set of distinct types. Not much for natural selection to do, only to chose from a preordained menu.

  6. That’s spooky. I was just last night watching this fascinating, thought-provoking video of Peter O’Toole, Orson Welles, Huw Weldon (host), and veteran actor Ernest Milton.

    Subject? Shakespeare and Hamlet.

    Enjoy:

(turn it up; the sound is bad, and the video is all that remains of this episode of the Beeb’s ‘Monitor’)

  7. O’Toole was really brilliant, apart from his acting; and a fine writer as well. It’s a pity his drinking ravaged him so badly. I saw him live in Pygmalion on Broadway – a very eloooongated performance it was, too.

  8. NOPE. Nyet. Nada. Nein. No ****ing Way.

Neo: Put the beaker down. Now, step away from the glass. Gooooood. ((-:

  9. Just thinking how irritated O’Toole would be about this, and the harridan’s statement, that: “Some people live, and some people die”

  10. It is good to see she is not on ERT. With any justice, the rest of her body is in the same shape as her neck. Yeah, I really like her.

  11. Is Sebelius in a remake of ” Lawrence of Arabia ” coming to a theatre near you?
a few months on a camel might be good for her.

  12. OlderandWheezier, I like that comparison between Senator Reid and Granny Clampett [Irene Ryan]. In that photo, Senator Reid definitely has a 19th century appearance.

Thread winner, as they say over at Ace of Spades.
