What the January 6th surveillance tapes show — 32 Comments

  1. I met Chansley. Once. He used to show up for different events in his outfit. Most people tried not to engage with him but I thought he looked a little like a kid in a Halloween costume eager for adult attention so I spoke with him. He was surprisingly mellow in his speech and didn’t seem quite as nuts as I expected. I asked if I could take his picture and he struck a pose for me. Unfortunately I deleted the picture later thinking I would never see or hear about him again. Overall my impression was that he was harmless. On the other hand, it seems he garnered too much attention from our far-from-harmless government looking for a human tool to advance a false agenda.

  2. You’re not wrong. The Insurrection narrative is now as ingrained as the Russian Collusion narrative is. No amount of video evidence will change that for the Leftists.

  3. ‘…they claim because it’s “too sensitive” and would compromise “national security.”’

    WARNING: COVER-UP ALERT!!

Hmmm. Now where might one have heard that before…?

Most recently, it seems, at the Maricopa County AZ audit/recount (so-called).

And this scintillating “argument” was also hauled out, when the alphabet agencies (and Democrats)—echoed loyally by the corrupt media—tried to prevent the Republicans from trying to figure out how Russiagate ever got off the ground.

It’s a useful gambit. It has the aura of PATRIOTISM about it; of extreme concern that the country’s security would be compromised if the Deplorables got their way…heh!

And like everything the Democrats do to try to cover up their extraordinary criminality, it’s utter balderdash.

(It’s also very suggestive, projection being what it is.)

  4. “Now, that doesn’t excuse the relatively few — like 15-20 people — who were attacking cops. No cop gave permission to be attacked, and anyway, you can’t assent to assault.”

Whoa. Back the truck up. “Right-wing” protesters don’t attack cops. At most, they defend themselves against police attacking them. Whereas, “mostly peaceful” left-wing protesters routinely attack police. There’s also plenty of circumstantial evidence that antifa and BLM operatives were there and acting violently.

  5. The Federal government is lost, at least for now. If “they” succeed it will be permanent. It is up to the states to push back. Hard. (I live in California so there is no hope.)

Unfortunately, state resistance initiatives will be challenged in the Courts. That has begun. Given the craven nature of the current SCOTUS there is little cause for optimism there.

If the Courts allow the Feds to snatch all power from the states, what will happen? Things could get very messy. Not 19th century messy, because the Federal government now has overwhelming military force, but messy in unpredictable ways.

  6. Question: Will it have any impact and make a difference in public opinion?

Answer: Ask those anti-Trump friends of yours, or the 56% of young white progressive females who admit to having been clinically diagnosed with a psychological disturbance.

Question: Does the piece of attention seeking and chaos sowing shit Chansley deserve to be in jail on the grounds he is being held on?

    Answer: No.

Question: When will grizzled potbellied assholes in buckskins, and other similar retards who enjoy dressing up, stop attending serious events and undermining them with their attention seeking displays?

Answer: Not until the others throw hot coffee in their faces and tell them to go to hell.

  7. The progressives have used every trick in the book against Trump. Russiagate, Ukrainegate, Electiongate, Insurrectiongate. All used by the left to try to destroy him. The intent has always been to brand Trump as some combination of anti-American, treasonous, incompetent, self-dealing, fascist. They have failed to change many minds. In fact, Trump is as popular as ever. Which is why they have redoubled their efforts against his supporters. They intend to use government power against the deplorables just as they did against the TEA Party. Except with more vigor and openly. When government power comes down on regular citizens, it is no longer a democracy. According to Angelo Codevilla we’ve become an oligarchy. It took Trump to expose the oligarchs. The question now is how do we recover?

  8. Mike+K, I completely agree. I think the Enabling Act will come from Nancy Pelosi, whom I believe is behind the Fire. The better to enhance her power.

  9. Hundreds of thousands assembled. Hundreds at the capitol. Dozens who were and were not “Trump supporters” inside. A congressional and municipal denial of federal aid to provide crowd control.

President Trump thanks the People and asks them to return to their homes peacefully. Did they forget to leave the place cleaner than when they arrived as per conservative practice?

Another Katrina controversy. A Democrat administration and military junta occupying the capital.

Did the murder of an unarmed woman, Ashli Babbitt, trigger the progression/aggression?

    They’re playing with a double-edged scalpel.

  10. We have witnessed a full blown coup.
Our nation has been stolen and our treasury is being looted.
If the administration is indeed illegitimate (and it is) any means to remove it and restore the proper authority would be legitimate.

That is not what happened on Jan 6th.

  11. Neo:
Hope never triumphs over reality. Never.

We have incontrovertible evidence of a police state in action, incarcerating some 400 peaceful political protesters in solitary for more than 4 months while Antifa arsonists out West are simply processed and released, and BLM logos are painted on urban streets in NYC and DC, never mind the black thugs smashing, looting and burning without any arrests. And the NG still “protecting” the US Capitol.

The major criminals go uncharged: Clinton, Brennan, Comey among them. Special Attorney Durham snoozes like he was Van Winkle.

We have no Weimar Republic political naivete excuse to fall back on. We are however, like Weimar, facing massive inflation consequent to Fed money-printing in response to Biden/Schumer/Pelosi’s helicopter money schemes. Plus the “Infrastructure” trillions AND the Green New Deal of many trillions. PLUS millions upon millions of unwashed migrants who will live off the land (our billions) like locusts.

America is dead. Stage I cancers are often curable (90+% for breast cancers), Stage IV cancers never are, and we are Stage III+ at this point, in which most eventually die of, or with, their cancers.

The MSM has become the Institute of Propaganda, as we’ve previously noted. The Asst AG for Civil Rights(!) has written that blacks are superior because…melanin! CEOs of most major corporations are aboard the CRT train…they see which way the wind is blowing.

  12. Cicero, there may be something deeper than that going on here.
I will not paste my recent blog post here along those lines.
But this has been a heist worthy of a James Bond movie gone wrong.

  13. @Cicero:

Looming financial system collapse is a worry, too. There won’t be too many government pointy end enforcers (still overwhelmingly of BadWhite ™ ethnicity) inclined to sit it out or flip sides if the alternative is destitution and starvation for them and their families.

  14. The federal magistrates and judges who are holding these people without allowing them to post a bond are a complete disgrace. They should all be impeached. Every one of them.

  15. Oldflyer,

“If the Courts allow the Feds to snatch all power from the states, what will happen? Things could get very messy. Not 19th century messy, because the Federal government now has overwhelming military force, but messy in unpredictable ways.”

It would be far worse than 19th century messy. The military is 80% conservative. They’re not going to enthusiastically put down the messiness. And if it gets really messy, i.e. slaughter in the streets, watch for friendly fire incidents to take out over enthusiastic officers and NCOs. It’s not just the Taliban who know how to make IEDs, there are millions of military veterans in this country and the vast majority are conservative.

Nor even if the military were entirely supportive of the left are there anywhere near enough to prevent infrastructural ‘damage’. The left’s enclaves are entirely dependent upon the importage of everything needed to sustain life. Logistical supply to the major cities would evaporate.

Hopefully none of this will come to pass but the only way it doesn’t is if the democrat leadership realizes that sooner or later… playing with fire is hazerdous to the arsonist’s life. That or as so often happens, a military coup displaces the extra legal coup that has stolen the constitution.

  16. Geoffrey Britain:
Pinochet and his military coup saved Chile from going full communist under the newly elected president, who, like Biden, campaigned and won as a “moderate socialist”. It cost the lives of about 2000 or so radicals, but that was a low societal cost compared to the alternative.

Senior officers usually engineer coups, and too many of the right Admirals and Generals were weeded out by Barack, leaving weenies in charge. A coup will have to come from the lower ranks, and I rather prefer a military coup to a messy messy.

  17. Re Pinochet:

You can’t Run. You can’t Hide. You go for Helicopter Ride.(*)

I could get on board with that…. Err… let me rephrase: It has a nice Ring to it.

    * Been a popular meme amongst the Deplorable Dissidents for some years now.

At the American Thinker site, one of the articles was about Chile voting on creating a new constitution.

    https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/05/chile_votes_itself_a_oneway_ticket_to_communist_hell.html

Most of the people don’t remember the days under Allende and despise the name of Pinochet so the have to remake “Pinochet’s constitution.”

The writer believes this will destroy Chile’s freedoms and economy as most look to Castro and Cuba to emulate.

Certainly a concern for one of the few free-market economies in South America and their citizens.

  19. The federal magistrates and judges who are holding these people without allowing them to post a bond are a complete disgrace. They should all be impeached. Every one of them.

I’m sure Nancy Pelosi will get right on that.

  20. Looking at various sites; the libs commenting on this HATE the folks who attended the rally. HATE. Nothing’s too awful for them. No shortcut in due process is off the table.
There’s no discussing right, wrong, relative to antifa riots, cops being hurt in riots,….nothing.
If they have the slightest rationality, it looks to be a fear that Congress might have been induced to recheck the election.
    But mostly, it’s unreasoning hate.

  21. More than 9 years ago I discovered that the progressive-left was working on ways to automate comments on, at least, Twitter/Facebook/blogs. Hundreds of smartphones would be linked to a single computer setup that could blast variations of basic themes into comments and look as though hundreds-thousands of people were “thinking,” feeling along the same left lines.

Just as our speech is violence and their violence is speech so too our actual people are declared in social media to be ‘bots and their ‘bots are allowed in and considered to be actual people. The idea is to make a small group appear to be the majority. The have always been Mensheviks who call themselves Bolsheviks and use that pretense to make others believe the lie to be truth.

  22. Several years ago Scott Adams told us that facts don’t matter — and while statements like that are always a little but hyperbole, his point has only become stronger.

  23. For geoff b – in re fake bots being a Democrat specialty.

    http://www.danielgreenfield.org/2019/01/the-biggest-democrat-expert-on-russian.html

Every time there was a story on Russian election interference, Morgan would show up on CNN or NBC. And his message was the same, the Russian bots were everywhere and they were a major threat.

The New York Times, which frequently promoted and published New Knowledge conspiracy theories, all but credited DiResta for having exposed the whole Russian-Republican troll conspiracy, and wrote that, “Senate and House staff members, who knew of DiResta’s expertise through her public reports and her previous work advising the Obama administration on disinformation campaigns, had reached out to her and others to help them prepare for the hearings.” They seemingly included Senator Warner’s office.

And it wasn’t just the 2016 election. Morgan, who made no secret of his loathing for conservatives, claimed that the Russian bots were everything and aiding Republicans.

When the #ReleasetheMemo hashtag went viral, Morgan, now running his own company, New Knowledge, was there suggesting it might be Russian bots. The debates about gun control after the Parkland school massacre? More Russian bots. The migrant caravan? Obviously a fake news conspiracy.

“Russians Meddling in the Midterms? Here’s the Data,” Morgan and Ryan Fox, a New Knowledge employee, warned. “Our company is currently detecting more overall activity in real time from continuing Russian online influence operations targeting the midterm elections than has been disclosed by social media platforms or detected by researchers during the same period before the election in 2016.”

The Russians were even going all the way into Alabama. “Russian trolls tracked by #Hamilton68 are taking an interest in the AL Senate race. What a surprise,” Morgan tweeted.

It wouldn’t have been much of a surprise to him because the “Russian trolls” supporting Roy Moore in Alabama were actually his trolls.

A New York Times story was forced to reveal that Morgan had participated in what a report described as, “an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet” thereby “radicalizing Democrats with a Russian bot scandal”

The goal was to “enrage and energize Democrats” and “depress turnout” among Republicans.

The bots used Cyrillic letters and pictures of celebrities. Just in case anyone still didn’t get the message, they included, “I love Russia” in their profiles. When the Moore campaign accused the Democrats of being behind the dirty trick, the Jones campaign doubled down on the Russia smear, declaring, “Maybe Moore should check with Vladimir Putin, who shares his views on depriving people of their civil rights.”

But Moore had been telling the truth. It had been a Democrat operation. The media’s greatest expert on Russian trolling had not only falsely claimed that Russian trolls were backing Moore, he was involved.

Morgan, the New York Times and the Washington Post attempted to spin this as an experiment, but influencing an actual election is not an experiment. When Morgan’s people faked Russian bot support for a Republican candidate, and Morgan then helped spread the allegations, that’s not an experiment, it’s a dirty trick. And it raises serious questions about the Democrat’s entire Russian troll narrative.

How can we know that an Alabama special election was the only time that Democrats tried to frame Republicans with false flag operations meant to portray them as traitors and tools of foreign interests?

After the events since 2016, I think it is safe to assume that everything the Democrats do is a dirty trick, false flag, hoax, or frame-up.
When it’s not just outright lying.

“Election audit in small New Hampshire town could have implications for 2020 results statewide
In tiny Windham, a November hand recount in a state legislative race revealed vote count discrepancies up and down the ballot — all benefiting Democrats.”

  24. }}} No cop gave permission to be attacked, and anyway, you can’t assent to assault.

LOLZ. Pretty sure people into B&D would thoroughly disagree with this, but that is a side issue unrelated to the current discussion. 😛

  25. Yes, it’s too late – most people are incapable of change. The left and liberals have their trusted sources and they can’t and won’t hear anything different. I’ve tried over and over to get liberals to listen to some other source like Prager or RealClear or allsides.com or the Fox News broadcast with Brett Baier but they won’t do it. They’ll only listen to leftist news sources. It’s why they still say Trump is a racist (Charlottesville) even though it’s been shown to be false.

Prager says conservatives have to show courage (now is the time!) and say they’re conservative and draw their fire. He believes that you’ll lose some friends but find common ground with new friends.

    Good luck with that.

I make my opinion known sometimes but I live in the People’s Republic of Ann Arbor and I certainly cannot wear my politics on my car bumper or lawn.

  26. Today the judge dismissed the Michigan Antrim County machine case as moot. I can tell you that this is not going over well. People that were angry and determined are even more determined to effect change. Nothing like a motivated voter base to effect change. This isn’t just Trump voters too.

    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/05/breaking-breaking-video-antrim-co-mi-judge-makes-stunning-decision-voter-fraud-case/

Then there is Frau Whitmer’s flight. Even Democrats are not happy about it. But why is that trip being hyped? Most pundits say it is being orchestrated by the Harris/Obama camp to drive her out of any presidential contention. Boy are they ever deluded. She is even more unlikeable that Harris.

  27. Yawrate – check out Rescue Michigan. The leader is based in Ann Arbor and his focus is on election reform. I live in an affluent neighborhood and have a bunch of lefties around me. They know my position but they don’t hassle me because, one I am a helpful neighbor who lends tools to get the job done and two I don’t back down and make them examine their assumptions which they don’t like.

Example – I had a lady say “Black Lives Matter” and I quickly finished the sentence with “including unborn ones right?” You could see her mind go “tilt” as that reframed the whole argument. She babbled on and tried to deflect but I stayed on that point. Later on she had a load of gravel delivered and I gave her my coal shovel and wheelbarrow to make the job easier.

Change is a process and not a moment.

  28. Let me quickly note (re: the Jan 6 political prisoners) that Dems/Progs are evil.
And also that Repubs are both willing and eager to throw us under the bus. They hated us when we were Tea Party. More than they hated Dems. More than they hated foreign enemies. That hasn’t changed since we became Deplorables and then Neanderthals.
