Inauguration Day, 2021 — 20 Comments

  1. Democrats lied? You shock me!

As to Biden, as I did with Trump, I will look to what he does rather than what he says. Calling for unity and healing while appointing a hard-core racist to head the Civil Right Division doesn’t bode well.

  2. That Ben Franklin quote got me to thinking how far we’ve come from what the Founders had in mind – a limited government.

I think one of the reasons people hate Trump and see him as a total racist is because he refused to play ‘more regs from gov’t are needed’. Doing the opposite or even doing nothing is a big no-no if you’re a prog. To progs, gov’t is the solution.

  3. Biden’s speech (written by whom?) was execrable, with a strong emphasis on so-called “domestic terrorists” and “white supremacists” and “racism” as significant problems for the nation. It was clearly a clumsy attempt to demonize the tens of millions who voted for Trump, as well as to signal to his fanatical followers that there will be no mercy for those who dare to oppose his totalitarian agenda, or rather that of his handlers. It has been said, more than once, that when fascism arrives in America, it will be in the guise of “anti-fascism”. Perhaps today is indeed the day on which our republic began its inevitable decline and fall.

  4. Two notes–well three, counting the footnote that I did not listen to the speech.

First. Widely reported that Chris Wallace praised Biden’s speech as the best Inaugural Speech ever. Wallace once more affirmed my resolve to never listen to him again.

Second. I see reports that Biden’s people are suggesting that he may not actually get to Covid relief until March. If that is true, it will be interesting to see how the “old media” plays that; and how the greedy little Biden voters react. I take those reports with a healthy dose of salt because I cannot imagine that even “Slo Joe” would dare.

  5. Did not, will not, watch Biden’s inauguration. Biden appears to be a second coming of the Obama years, based on his appointees so far. I already know what’s coming. And it’s not good for the American middle class. Open borders = more drugs and crime along with less job opportunities for low skilled workers. War on fossil fuels = higher prices at the pump, higher heating bills, and higher costs for almost everything. (inflation anyone?) Law enforcement reform = les effective police forces and more crime. Fighting COVID-19 = more lockdowns, more economic pain, more big $$$$ bailouts, and less freedom for everyone (except the elites). More regulations = another stagnant economy ala Obama. If we get inflation, which I think we will, it will be a duplicate of Jimmy Carter’s stagflation.

Unfortunately, the MSM will not tell the LIVs the truth about what’s happening. Maybe the pain will become great enough that the LIVs will finally recognize the difference between what they’re being told and what’s really happening.

  6. That Ben Franklin quote would be appropriate if we weren’t talking about a situation where the government itself had simply shut down a large segment of the economy.

    Mike

  7. I just read the text of Biden’s speech. Absurd to think he can unite the country with that. He attacked half the country.

He said the Dems were against lawlessness. Ha! The Dems are lawless.

    Resist.

And I want to post here that I’m super happy that Steve Bannon got a pardon.

  8. I’m with Oldflyer who writes “Widely reported that Chris Wallace praised Biden’s speech as the best Inaugural Speech ever. Wallace once more affirmed my resolve to never listen to him again.”

The Obamunist full body tongue bath genuflected by the Marxist media is now in effect. War is peace. Ignorance Is strength. And RED is best!

Remember that the Marxist Media gave us 93% favourable Obama coverage and Trump 93% negative coverage. Neither is veridical with reality because no leader is that great or bad.

Therefore we are being lied to. Routinely.

  9. What “inauguration”?

    Coups don’t do inaugurations.

    They install permanent regimes.

Biden, Harris, a future President Kerry or Cuomo or Whitmer, same puppet tyrant, different face.

It’s the globalist oligarchy that now runs the country. The politicians act as their spokesmen and faithfully do their bidding.

We no longer have a government “of the people, for the people and by the people” because tens of millions of willfully blind fools enabled this perverting of the “consent of the governed”.

I perceive truth and objective reality to be inseperable.

The reality of Venezuela awaits and out of the coming “wailing and gnashing of teeth” will arise a new clarity of what truth consists and of what must be done to restore it.

  10. Cornhead,

“I just read the text of Biden’s speech. Absurd to think he can unite the country with that. He attacked half the country.”

Biden’s ‘unity’ involves and requires surrender and prostration by all who voted for Trump and all who don’t subscribe to the “Critical Race Theory” scam. To all who question the veracity of the Covid-19 scam. To all who disagree that 2+2=5…

To attain that, examples must be made that instill the proper amount of fear and terror among those who oppose Biden’s puppet masters. Biden’s attack upon half the country is not a warning but a promise of his cabal’s intentions.

Starting with Laura Loomer’s having now been banned from purchasing a gun by the FBI. Presumably under the authority of the Patriot Act. This despite her never advocating violence nor ever even getting a parking ticket. And having received multiple death threats. Clearly she has no right to the means for self-defense. Unconstitutional? Well, it used to be… and still is…if you support the left.

There is no rule of law if it doesn’t apply to everyone.

What we now have is ‘legally’ established tyranny. Most recently demonstrated by the FBI placing up bill boards around the country to encourage liberals to report suspicious activity by America’s foremost threat, “domestic terrorists” i.e. Trump voters.

  11. You had some questions of the ego variety, concerning the Prince of Peace aura I mentioned, GB.

    Well, take a look.

This serenity vs what others are feeling. The words themselves don’t mean anything. They are just a translation of a concept or power.

Look instead at the actual physical manifestation.

Sarah Hoyt once called it “insanity”.

If this is your human version of sanity, all the pain and doom and gloom… well that’s not something I desire.

Peace, serenity, and calm is my choice as a Son of God.

  12. That’s the Yammer ego thing alright, never admitting when fantasy conflicts with fact.

    QAnon kills.

    Ashli Babbit RIP.

  13. After the Democrat House approved their Articles of the Second Impeachment, they declined to send them over to the Senate for trial.
Some blamed McConnell’s surprisingly firm statement that he wouldn’t do anything before January 19 at the soonest.
Some believed Pelosi’s claim that they wanted to give Biden an uninterrupted “honeymoon” (which they denied Trump, of course).
Now, we know what both of them certainly knew: any sort of defense at a Senate trial would disclose what the Washington Post now admits.

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2021/01/20/now-the-washington-post-admits-trump-did-not-incite-the-capitol-riot-n1398722
    (quotes from WaPo story)

Self-styled militia members from Virginia, Ohio and other states made plans to storm the U.S. Capitol days in advance of the Jan. 6 attack, and then communicated in real time as they breached the building on opposite sides and talked about hunting for lawmakers, according to court documents filed Tuesday.

While authorities have charged more than 100 individuals in the riot, details in the new allegations against three U.S. military veterans offer a disturbing look at what they allegedly said to one another before, during and after the attack — statements that indicate a degree of preparation and determination to rush deep into the halls and tunnels of Congress to make “citizens’ arrests” of elected officials.

The arrests this weekend of several people with alleged ties to far-right extremist groups, including the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters, suggest that the riot was not an entirely impulsive outburst of violence but an event instigated or exploited by organized groups. Hours of video posted on social media and pored over by investigators have focused on individuals in military-style gear moving together.

Of course, they blame the Right-Wing for all of the rioting, and for all I know they might be correct (I only suspect otherwise; I don’t KNOW), but this was known to TPTB before the House vote, and most of the world learned it very soon afterwards.

Through the Leftist Press, in fact.

CNN acknowledged last week that the storming of the Capitol was planned prior to Trump’s speech, reporting that, “Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that has led investigators to believe the attack on the US Capitol was not just a protest that spiraled out of control, a federal law enforcement official says.”

The CNN report and the Washington Post article completely undermine the entire case Democrats made for impeaching Trump. As I previously noted, the riot at the Capitol was either planned in advance or inspired by President Trump’s speech. It simply cannot be both. That the media is starting to acknowledge the whole thing was planned in advance now, after the bogus impeachment, is no accident.

This is called Political Theater, and it addresses in some ways the topic of Neo’s other post today on whether the general host of Democrats are fools or knaves.

I say: Fools, because they allow the Leftist Press to be their sole source of information (or, “information”); Knaves, because they make no effort to follow up on any disquieting suggestions that they are Fools.

Second entry in the same argument:
    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2021/01/20/wow-politico-is-no-longer-covering-up-bidens-cognitive-decline-n1398160

There are many troubling things about this story. Biden forgetting part of a stump speech is bad enough, but this is an incident that took place last year, but has only come out now. Biden’s handlers kept it under wraps until now. How many other examples of Biden’s cognitive decline from the 2020 campaign have been covered up? If it was leaked to the media earlier, they didn’t report on it then. The obvious question is “why not?”

Obviously, Politico got the memo. The election is over. Trump is out of office. Biden’s cognitive decline is no longer taboo. It can be discussed ad nauseam by the media now because getting Biden into office wasn’t the primary objective of getting him elected.

Biden’s sole purpose was to play the role of an “electable” candidate who could appeal to independents and anti-Trump Republicans under the ruse of being a centrist just to get Trump out of office. For all intents and purposes, Biden’s job is complete, and a San Francisco liberal is now waiting in the wings to take his place at the appropriate time.

While conservative media outlets didn’t shy away from reporting on Biden’s deteriorating mental faculties, the mainstream media tried to pretend they didn’t exist. But the rules have changed now. Expect more anecdotes like the one above to make their way into mainstream media reports.

Shortly after the Election, my SiL in Virginia “commiserated” with me over Trump’s loss (that is, a thinly veiled gloating). I suggested, gently, that I was worried that Biden’s mental health was so frail he might not be able to serve.
“Oh, he’s fine,” she responded, in the particular Mom-voice usually directed toward toddlers with a minor booboo.

I wonder what she’s thinking now that the Leftists Press is revealing that the Democrat voters were scammed.
Probably: wow, he sure got sick quickly!

  14. I’m over on FreeRepublic.com. People are mad at Biden and excoriating his charade. The WH stream turned off comments, which live watchers suggest ran 95% hostile.

It is a thing of beauty! This outpouring of vengeance. You can check out a link to the MSM streams, now recorded, for the comments.

One stream was about two to one negative. But several are ten to one negative.

    A short sample:

Trump has almost 4 million views on his farewell speech this morning.

Look at thumbs up and thumbs down. Lmfao!! Biden got 80 million votes?? Lmfao!!

JUST LIKE THE ELECTION 5.3K HATE THIS AND 3.7K LIKE IT…..SICKENING DAY IN AMERICA…

Beijing Biden is the proverbial manchurian candidate in history. Besides twinkle toes barry.

Oh man alive… THIS IS COMEDY GOLD! HILARIOOOUUUSSS!

I feel like I was lied too when I was told cheaters never prosper, and good always wins. Sad day for America!

Compare to the energy of the crowds sending trump off and awaiting him in Florida, Biden’s inauguration was like a funeral where he delivered a eulogy. The mood was heavy and gloomy.

Like when a dictator needs the military to be installed as the president?

  15. AesopFan: “Of course, they blame the Right-Wing for all of the rioting, and for all I know they might be correct (I only suspect otherwise; I don’t KNOW), but this was known to TPTB before the House vote, and most of the world learned it very soon afterwards.”

But as someone, here I think, shared, Michael Yon – the several decades war correspondent — who’s spent 500 hours at demos and riots, including some seven months in Hong King covering their democracy movement in 2019 and Antifa — who was at the Capitol steps on the 6th, and recognises their hardcore techniques and practices from close observation , fingers Antifa in provoking and stoking moch or most of the violence.

See Antifa “ ‘Agent Provocateur’ Tactics Seen at Jan 6 US Capitol Protest—Interview With Michael Yon” here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bIeKj7fZ8U

False flag tactics ID”d again and again in video as also an eyewitness by Yon.

  16. I saw the Yon interview.
I have great respect for him, but even his opinion is still an opinion.
    An astute and informed opinion.
I happen to believe it is a correct one.

Still, the FBI is rounding up a lot of suspects on the Right, according to WaPo.
“The arrests this weekend of several people with alleged ties to far-right extremist groups, including the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters, suggest that the riot was not an entirely impulsive outburst of violence but an event instigated or exploited by organized groups.”

Caveat: “alleged” covers a lot of territory, ad if there have been any arrests or investigations of the Leftist groups or “ideas”, I do not expect to see those noted in any MSM outlet.

Lying by omission is still lying.

    Possibilities:
    (1) the FBI keeps tabs on the right-wing groups, and most of them don’t wear masks and hoods, so it is easy to grab them immediately, and since being present in DC on the Sixth is now officially equivalent to actively doing something criminal, they will throw those guys to the wolves first;
    (2) the FBI almost certainly has files on the left-wing groups, but they may or may not pursue leads there (I trust nothing the FBI does or says any more);
    (3) the right-wingers may have actually done some criminal trespass (through open doors?) and violence, both “in their own guise” AND with some of them also copying the Hong Konger tactics as pointed out by Yon, although those of us who have watched the “peaceful protestors” and their gentle ways recognize what he describes as being known tactics on the Left.

    It’s a mess.

  17. I concede that any right-wingers who did anything more than go in through the open doors and gawk at the Rotunda were out of line and counter-productive.

However, in order to present them as the sole perpetrators of mayhem at the Capitol, and absolve Antifa & Co, you have to believe that the “right-wing fringe” (such as the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters) disguised themselves as Antifa in order to disrupt the Senate hearings that they hoped would vindicate Their Hero PJDT by establishing grounds for a lawful investigation of the election anomalies.

IF their goal was to intimidate the anti-challengers in Congress by their physical presence, there was no point in that disguise.
So, Antifa was there, was active, and suckered the Trump supporters into following their mob, as there was no advantage for the Right in trespass and violence, which would only have tarnished their cause — as it did.
