Airstrike in Syria kills Iranian officials; — 19 Comments

  1. I also often wonder how Israel gets word of such get-togethers; I can think of several possibilities, though.

There are always those who are willing to betray their side as long as the price is right. And what’s more it’s possible that not everyone in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is completely on board with the proxy war/terrorism strategy and its results since the events of October 7th.

  2. “I am always surprised to hear that such people are having actual physical meetings,”

Not meeting in person makes it possible for outsiders to eavesdrop on the meeting via hacking. You don’t have to worry about an unwelcome (and unseen) guest on your video call if you don’t have a video call.

Additionally, there is apparently a belief in the Arab world the the West – and America in particular – has an almost magical ability to listen in on calls.

  3. Would make a great advertisement for Zoom, though…

“Next time, wouldn’t you really rather…?”

  4. YAY, Team!!

    Gooooooooo, Jews!!
    😛

}}} Additionally, there is apparently a belief in the Arab world the the West – and America in particular – has an almost magical ability to listen in on calls.

LOLZ. Not certain it ISN’T magical. Assuming it can be done is probably not an unwise idea.

The USA is behind much of the electronics and the software used for such purposes, indirectly, if not directly — via both patent law and software design.

  5. Wonder how well the Ayatollahs in Iran sleep after each one of these strikes?

Do they dream of Qassem Soleimani’s HAND chasing them around?

Do they dream of their HEAD attached to the body of a Snake, and Netanyahu chasing them around trying to cut it off?

  6. Oh, they’ll just tell their pals to ramp it up a bit.

    Houthi’s ‘r gettin’ ready.
    Hezbullah’s ‘r achin’ to unload.
    Etc.

(A huge problem is that with “Biden” in their corner, they think they’re holding all the cards…)

  7. Got to be driving the bad guys nuts. The Israelis KNOW WHERE THEY ARE. One after another, big shot in an apartment, big shot in a car, half a dozen big shots–time and place and sufficiently precise munitions not to damage the neighbors.
Of the big and almost-big shots, how many are going around looking over their shoulders, or trying to figure out who of their staff, or drivers, or janitors, or the retired guy across the street, or…cousin can call up the IDF any time he wants?

  8. It would be hoped that some of the Israeli intel does come from the US. There are a lot of satellites whizzing around out there? Maybe some of Elon’s are not so beguine?

  9. As Neo and others have commented, someone purportedly on the Iranian side must have been leaking some information to the Israelis. How many “innocents” will the Iranians kill in order to get the Israeli mole? Which will not encourage team loyalty among the Iranians and friends.

  10. Israel practices war old school style. Those responsible are hunted down, even if it takes years. I have no doubt that all who took part in Oct 6 will be dead in the coming days, months and years.
Meanwhile, Biden doesn’t say anything about Americans held hostage, and if they are released, or murdered, nothing will happen to those responsible.
In the past, such meetings were discovered because one or more of the staff members of Iran were actually Mossad. Seems they missed events leading up to Oct 6-hopefully they will get back to basics.

  11. @ Jim > “In the past, such meetings were discovered because one or more of the staff members of Iran were actually Mossad. Seems they missed events leading up to Oct 6-hopefully they will get back to basics.”

IIRC, Iran basically claimed that they sorta kinda knew Hamas was planning something sometime but didn’t get the word about exactly what and how — which is true means nothing could be passed on by an Israeli mole, which may be why Hamas kept the details really closely held.

Still, all of the Israeli intelligence and political honchos missed or dismissed the warning signals, so I also hope they will get back to basics: when people say they want to kill you, pay attention to what they are doing, even if sometimes you react to a false alarm — just call it “practice drills.”

And don’t let the political idealists lead you off the path to smell the roses.

  12. As April 1st arrives a bit late to Red Square…

“Russia Voices Outrage As Death Toll Rises To 11 After Israeli Attack On Iran’s Damascus Embassy”—
    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/iranian-embassy-syria-targeted-large-israeli-airstrikes-major-escalation
(Hmm. Wonder if it’s that Julian Calendar thang…to be sure, anything that causes Russia to “voice outrage” is not necessarily such a bad thing…)

    Key graf (RTWT):
‘…Russia’s Foreign Ministry reacted as follows: “We strongly condemn this attack on the Iranian consular office in Syria. We consider any attacks on diplomatic and consular facilities, the inviolability of which is guaranteed by the relevant Vienna Conventions, to be categorically unacceptable.”‘

    Unacceptable! Got it!!
(But keep on rocketing those “Little Russian” cities and towns in Ukraine!)
Oh BTW, is it “categorically” ACCEPTABLE to talk shop with the creme de la creme of your terrorist allies and proxies in your very own “diplomatic and consular facilities”? Unless, unless…silly me—no doubt you were all swapping favorite recipes for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr…

  13. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

It’s truly good (mostly) that Israel killed these evil guys — tho it’s likely also clearly against International law. That same int’l law which has failed to stop terrorism, and even failed to stop the Russian invasion & illegal (int’l law!) occupation of Ukraine.

“Real law” is the law that is actually enforced. With force, from the forces of the law. Intermittent law is the best humans can do.

  14. “…against International law…”

Especially since, as Honest A. has assured us (time and time again), there are no signs or indications that Iran is connected in any way to Hamas’s attack on Israel of October 7 or the subsequent attacks on Israel from Lebanon (Hezbullah), from Yemen (Houthis) and from SW Syria (Iranian militias).

    NO SIGNS AT ALL.
…which, of course, makes Iran just another victim of ZIONIST AGGRESSION!!!!
