Biden ♥ Iran
This was written yesterday:
Don’t buy the hype: When President Biden finally responds to the deadly Iran-backed attack on American troops in Jordan, odds are he’ll both dispel the concerns of fearmongers hysterical he is going to bomb Iran and dash the dreams of hawks demanding he do so.
This was apparent even before his administration leaked it will strike Iranian personnel and facilities in Iraq and Syria, giving the regime ample time to close up shop and evacuate.
For Biden to strike Tehran’s tentacles, let alone the head of the octopus with the overwhelming force necessary to deter it — à la President Donald Trump’s strike on Iranian terror mastermind Qassem Soleimani — would be to completely contradict his entire Middle East policy.
In a continuation of the Obama-Biden administration policy before it, the president has subordinated nearly all else to making the mullocracy the regional “strong horse,” under the perverse premise putting Iran First — and the screws to our Israeli friends and anti-Islamist Arab partners — will produce order and peace over instability and war.
Biden has sought since day one to appease and empower the Islamic revolutionary regime and its proxies, fueling and incentivizing ever-greater aggression.
That’s really pretty much it. Biden follows in Obama’s footsteps re Iran, but why? Obama at least had a long leftist history and an internationalist “anti-colonial” outlook. Biden has a very different history. He’s never been smart about foreign affairs – in fact, has been wrong very very often in his long career in the Senate – but prior to becoming Obama’s VP I don’t think he ever was pro-Iran, anti-Israel, or anti-American.
So, what happened? A lot of possibilities, and they’re not mutually exclusive:
(1) Biden isn’t calling the shots at all, and it’s just Obama’s advisors continuing Obama’s destructive policies.
(2) But Biden is at least acquiescing to these things, and I assume he has some agency and is not an automaton. Perhaps his agreement is because he saw how popular Obama was because of, or despite, such moves.
(3) Currying favor with the international crowd that despises Israel.
(4) Catering to his left flank. They’ve been upset with him ever since October 7. Then again, this pro-Iran policy has been one he consistently followed much earlier than that.
(5) Cowardice.
(6) Lack of any other ideas about what to do.
The article calls Biden’s Iran agenda “treacherous.” That it certainly is. I would add “treasonous.”
Today, the administration launched airstrikes on targets in Syria and Jordan:
The US military struck Iranian forces and Tehran-backed militia groups in both Iraq and Syria on Friday as a retaliation for the drone attack that killed three American soldiers at a base in Jordan.
The US has blamed Iran-backed forces for the attack but did not directly strike its rival.
Of course not. Wouldn’t want to “escalate” things – even if Iran keeps doing so through its proxies.
More:
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said that at least 13 pro-Iran fighters were killed in the attack. “At least 13 pro-Iran fighters have been killed,” Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.
The administration says there will be more coming. I predict that none of it will affect Iran in any important way. Iran is well aware that any retaliation will not be meaningful, and acts accordingly.
The New York Post had an editorial today on the same subject which pulled no punches, and particularly noted that Biden’s delay in responding guaranteed that the Iranian forces aka proxies would not suffer any significant damage.

NOT to defend “this administration” per Biden’s mush-brained Press Secretary.

Biden’s team knows that he has to make overtures to the left. They also favor getting close to Iran. Joe is a hollowed out shell of a man and goes along with what they tell him to do.
Yes, it appears that Joe is following Obama’s pro-Iran foreign policy in the ME.
Also, Obama forced the Pentagon to use lawyers to appraise all military ops for violations of the Geneva Conventions/laws of war, proportional responses, and rules of engagement that avoided “collateral damage.” A properly legal and humane method of warfare. 🙁 Which couldn’t defeat ISIS in three years of trying. And made little headway in Afghanistan in eight years. Yet, Joe is continuing it.
It’s a policy that I call, “waling stickly and carrying a big soft.” Exactly backwards from what is needed.
I think it is number 6, that, “he can’t think of anything else to do”.
I think all of his actions, in his government career, have been to: 1) pander to the Democrats…i.e. his party, 2) to get himself money, and to 3) get votes for his party.
I think he’s never had the intelligence, or the skills, to anything other than those three actions.
That’s just my view of his career in government.
Cheers.
I think Biden has a bad case of Obama Envy.
Recall, KJP & John Kirby kept saying Biden was huddling with Sec Austin, & other foreign policy advisors over the options.
I believe it was more about 1) giving the enemies time to clear out, & 2) practicing the proper statements with slow-parrot Joe.
God bless and protect our troops.
Watching the ceremony as the coffins were received today…Joe was so heavily medicated I was waiting for him to fall down. Absolutely waxen and not from seriousness or grief. Surprised he was functional at all.
This is all Obama’s doing. His minions are running the show…hence the cluster flop on all fronts.
Madness is not confined to individuals.
Biden is just a conduit for the people around him. A tool. Nothing more. And the people around him hate this country.
There is malley who probably still runs the show bihar at nsc someone at defense that dan greenfield focused mcfadden at cia who let her slip out so to speak
I’m with TR. Don’t underestimate (6). Vapidness is Biden’s distinguishing characteristic.
I agree with Number 1 – Obama is calling the shots.
Number 2 – He’s not acquiescing – He’s unaware of the attacks.
We know this is an UTTERLY DISHONEST administration.
(Being supported by an UTTERLY DISHONEST media.)
And THAT IS ALL that ye’ need to know.

When Joe Biden opposes something, he calls it “extreme” or “hateful” or “divisive.” It seems like he’s easy to program that way, and it could explain how he’s able to turn on policies and opinions that he’s held for years. But is it really as straightforward, sincere, naive or idealistic as that? Either there’s a strategy behind it, or Joe is just following his party, his donors, and his advisors.
Right now the team is trying to offset support for Israel with policies that it thinks the party left will favor. But Biden’s foreign policy appointees have their own notions and illusions about Iran that they aren’t willing to give up. Joe is going along with what they tell him. The bumbling, hesitant conduct of the administration, though, may owe a lot to Biden’s own foreign policy bumbling and bungling over the years.
Thanks, Mike Plaiss.

“…Why do illegal immigrant theft rings steal in New York, go to Florida to spend their loot, and then return to New York to steal some more?…”
Soros and “Biden” (et al.) teaming up to destroy the country.
Daniel Tobin pretty much pulls it all together in this detailed and very lucid article:
‘ It’s Biden who’s playing politics with the Gaza war, not Bibi;
‘ Netanyahu is trying to defeat Hamas. The administration’s efforts—and its fictional “doctrine”—seek to depose the Israeli prime minister and re-elect the president.’—
