A video worth watching — 22 Comments

  1. I haven’t watched the video yet; I will. Meanwhile, I am not surprised that Netanyahu dislikes Obama. I think the feeling is mutual. Remember Obama keeping Netanyahu waiting so he could eat dinner? Not a good start to their relationship.

  2. “loathing and hostility for Barack Obama”
    Wow!
Who knew that the Israeli PM & little ol’ me felt the same way about the magic 0?

  3. Like F, will watch later but … I think Obama’s loathing and hostility was first, and Bibi was unwilling to suck up to him.

Yes, Israel depends on the USA for security, but Obama & Biden are both funding Iran … not exactly so that Iran can fund Jew killing terrorists, but Iran is using cash for that purpose. And got cash from the USA.

I suspect a LOT of the overly hopeful Israeli Left will now agree that Hamas must not be allowed to survive as an org that can rule Gaza.

Further, maybe most of them will agree that only with Israel in control will Gaza not be run by terrorists willing to kill Jews.

3-state solution, with the second state after Israel being:
Gaza Palestine Confederation – temporarily under Israeli control & genuine occupation, especially police, courts, laws, and tax collection & schools.

Maybe English should be a new official language and all students should spend the next year learning English.

  4. Herzog is simply another liberal useful idiot whose illusions were ‘mugged’ by reality on Oct 7th. Islam’s most devout; Hamas, Hezbollah, Shia Iran & Sunni Wahabi’s see no distinction between Netanyahu and Herzog.
Who apparently has realized that the ‘crocodile’ will not be satiated before it gets to him.

  5. Indeed, there was plenty of reason for Netanyahu to loathe Obama, who not only insulted Netanyahu, but harmed Israel in myriad ways, including enabling its arch enemy Iran.

  6. Bougie Herzog — very much one of us modern men; a marshmallow, in another expression — threatens, notice!, the “judgement of History”. How pathetic we are, we modern men, clinging to our culture with our shriveled god, History.

  7. I watched this video of two Arab woman peace activists discussing their reaction to the video of atrocities Hamas committed that they saw at the Israel consulate. One woman said she thought she’d seen the worst from ISIS, but this was even worse. The thing that got to her was the joy they took in doing it.

  8. I watched the video, but it ends after the question of “How do you avoid Hamas 2.0?” with President Herzog saying, “We must dream and work towards it, and actually you had examples in history that following terrible terrible atrocities and wars, people find a way to build a better future.”

Perhaps a possibility, but it’s also a possibility that in this religious war, Jew-hatred is a distinct phenomenon, and there is NO humanly possible way to build a better future with those holding demonic Islamic beliefs.

So it seems that although President Herzog is a somewhat humbled and chagrined leftist, he represents those who cannot let go of a belief that people are “basically good”. I believe the Scripture differs. As it was said in the book of Job, “For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward”

Such ‘troubles’ are the predominant examples in history.

  9. And by the way, kudos to Douglas Murray for letting President Herzog talk. So many interviewers spend the bulk of time telling their interviewers and us what THEY think of the situation. Very annoying!

  10. A very interesting and I think hopeful sign from a Saudi Prince condemning Hamas for the Oct 7 massacre. He of course condemns Israel but what else is new? What I find really find remarkable is that he recommends Ghandi as a model of how the Palis should proceed in the future. Peaceful protest recommended by a Muslim, and not just any Muslim, but a Saudi Prince?!

  11. }}} failure to work effectively with the President of the United States, Barack Obama. Herzog declared that Netanyahu’s “loathing and hostility for Barack Obama” was one of his greatest failures, since it put Israel’s security at risk.

Given that Obama was a blatant Islamophile, and almost certainly viewed Israel with disdain and probably loathing, the idea that any rift was Netanyahu’s fault is as ludicrous as the notion that Hamas has any interest in co-existing with Israel.

  12. }}} What I find really find remarkable is that he recommends Ghandi as a model of how the Palis should proceed in the future. Peaceful protest recommended by a Muslim, and not just any Muslim, but a Saudi Prince?!

A Ghandist approach would work far far better than their terrorist approach, And indeed, work much better on Israel than it would on Islam — Israel is essentially a decent people, and, IF they are doing wrong, they can and would feel guilt over it. Islam would not be thus encumbered.

  13. Pretty straightforward. Meantime, American faith leaders are at the White House, advocating for a ceasefire, saying they have always championed the Palestinian people.

  14. American “faith leaders” advocating for a ceasefire are mostly those who have abjured their traditional faiths in favor of What’s Happening Now.

  15. saudi former istikbarat spy chief, subsequently ambassador to uk and us, who probably funded hamas back in the day, but we’ll take it under advisement

  16. Hamas has always called for the extermination of Israel.
What part of that did Herzog not understand?
What part of that is not clear?

It is incredible that it took the horrible events of Oct 7 for Herzog – and other leftist liberals who do not hate Jews and who live in a fantasy world – to wake up to reality.

Someone said – I forget who – that if someone wants to kill you, you had better believe them.

While the disaster presently occurring in Gaza is due entirely to the terrorist actions of Hamas, the UN shares much of the blame as well.
UN personnel in Gaza knew that Hamas was building tunnels as well as absconding with many millions (billions?) of $$$$$ of aid funds and they remained quiet.
    They said nothing.

The again, what can one expect from the UN? Look who is in that club; Iran, Cuba and of course, Russia.
If Nazi Germany were still around, the UN would have representatives of the final solution in their club.

And the US taxpayer provides this organization with millions of dollars every year.
    Un F’n believable.
But then again, I was never smart enough to get into Harvard or Penn or Oxford, so clearly, I just am incapable of understanding the nuances of US foreign policy.

  17. well back when they were mujama al islamiya, they had a charitable front, but yes herzog has always been slow on the ball,
