  1. Colorado is about to make more people buy EV’s. By 2032 80% of ALL vehicles (Cars, SUV’s, all types of Trucks) being sold in CO will have to be EV’s. This would be phased in starting in 2027. Some Enviros want it to be 100%.
My question is who would buy a used EV? I mean if the battery is the original how much longer would it last? Will Dealers take EV’s in trade? Or, will they just go to the Junk Yard.
At this point I really don’t care. My Wife and I are 77 (well she soon will be), will we be around in 2032?

  2. This is something I posted late, yesterday.
I just wanted to re-post it here, so that more people would get to read it. Cheers.:

Mr. Biden has recently said, that he wants the Federal Government to back [Israel and Ukraine], in the wars that those countries are in.

    [This is unbelievable].

The enemies of The United States, and the enemies of The US’ allies, are not fools, and these enemies have also read about recent history.

All these enemy nations have to do is:

wait for the Liberal part of The US to get [bored] with the wars…and tell the government to leave the wars,

or wait for the Liberals in The US to start feeling that The US [has lost too many…US military people] in these wars…and tell the government to leave these wars,

or wait for the Liberals to start feeling that The US [has spent too much money] in these wars…and tell the government to leave these wars.

The enemies of The US, and its allies- saw the Liberals tell [Biden and the Government] to leave the 2021…War in Afghanistan, so Biden did.

Biden wanted out of the 2021, War in Afghanistan, so he left the war- in a very, quick way, and in a very disastrous way.

So- the enemies of: Israel, The US, and Ukraine, just have to wait.

The enemies of those nations just have to wait for these two wars to get “too costly”, or “too long”- and Biden, or some other US President who wants to give in to an impatient public, will abandon those two wars, just like Biden abandoned- the 2021, War in Afghanistan.

  3. TR:

The Democrat Left started this pattern of abandonment back in 1973 with South Vietnam. Nowadays the Democrat Left will be joined by the isolationists on the “Right.”

  4. @ Kate – I’ve been getting Matt Taibbi’s “free” Substack updates for awhile, but his publishing this declaration (he also helped write it) finally got me to upgrade to a paid subscription.
Substack’s collection of Democrats who are leaving the echo chamber is quite impressive. They will likely never vote Republican, but at least they aren’t supporting the (dare I say it?) Un-American Activities of the Left.

(As we now know, Joe McCarthy was more right than wrong.)

  5. @AesopFan, I subscribed to his Racket News because of his work on the Twitter Files, and because I value an honest liberal. There aren’t a lot of them left, and he calls it as he sees it.

  6. @ Shirehome > “Colorado is about to make more people buy EV’s”

Good thing our kids are buying their next used car this year.
I suspect that by 2027, and certainly by 2032, the reality of how bad a deal EVs are will be impinging on the electorate.
Whether they can have any influence on the government is always iffy, but I don’t count Colorado as a totally lost cause yet.

  7. In Argentina, it was the last day for Javier Milei’s Advance Liberty Forward campaign for the Presidency election on Sunday. And at a Buenos Aires stadium rally, apparently one free market economist advising Milei called for breaking diplomatic ties with the Vatican because the Pope from Argentina is a Commie!

This unvetted comment caused an uproar with the Archbishop of BA.

    Here are the details:

The Archbishop of Buenos Aires Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva said today that he was “embarrassed and surprised” with the proposal to cut diplomatic relations with the Vatican, while the Argentine Jorge Bergoglio is the Pope, he expressed yesterday during the closing of the La Libertad Avanza campaign.

“I heard it and I was shocked, surprised, at a time when we are trying to ask for a united Argentina,” said the Buenos Aires archbishop this morning in statements to radio Perfil.

Within the framework of the closing of the campaign that the LLA presidential candidate, Javier Milei, held last night at the Movistar Arena stadium in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Crespo, economist Alberto Benegas Lynch asked to “cut relations with the Vatican.”

Alberto Benegas Lynch, liberal economist and Advisor for Javier Milei

“Out of consideration and respect for my Catholic religion, I believe that we should imitate what President Roca did and suspend diplomatic relations with the Vatican while the totalitarian spirit prevails there,” said Benegas Lynch, who is described by Milei as “a hero of the liberalism”.

Furthermore, the liberal economist clarified that “I fully assume responsibility” in reference to his statements and stressed that he does not want the proposed initiative to compromise Javier Milei’s position.

I say “Death To The Commie Pope!” But in the meantime, this is second best, with Argentina rejecting the Argentine Pope for cause.

  8. RE: Embracing the “Woo” of UFOs

I’m thinking that the rumored difficulty our scientists (the very few of them who can get security clearances high enough to work with Alien crash materials, and who are willing to do so—no publishing, after all, and that will hurt their academic careers) are having with understanding and reverse engineering crashed UFOs, the problem with our military and civilian researchers and officials grappling with the UFO phenomenon, is because they are very likely, and perhaps almost to a man, materialists–they believe in what they can see and touch, and the high strangeness of the UFO phenomenon, the “Woo” of it, is just a bridge too far for them.

Admitting that the scientific method may not be the method they need to use to understand these phenomenon is probably a bitter pill for them, and one they don’t want to swallow.

I’m guessing that they are comfortable living and working in our current consensus Reality, and are having a very difficult time stepping across it’s boundary walls, and into the unknown, and an “ontological shock” which will likely destroy all of the certainties, and their idea of their place in the Universe.

  9. RE: UFOs–Here is an article about the recent statements by Dr. James Lacatski, who ran the AAWSAP UFO investigation program for the Defense Intelligence Agency, and who has been allowed to say (his statements cleared, as were Davied Grusch’ statements, by the DOD’s Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review) that the U.S. has at least one UFO in it’s possession, and that researchers have been able to penetrate into the inside of this craft.*

  10. For choir fans here … and the odd Francophone … here’s Jean-Jacques Goldman’s magnificent canon-style pop song:

Wait for the shift into grand chorale-style @ 2:50. It sounds like they got the guy who arranged the Four Seasons songs.

Goldman started as a big hair 80s rock star. He changed.
