  1. Governor Greg Abbott announced an hour ago that he officially declared an invasion at the southern border today and he’s going to begin repelling it.

I’ve long wondered why a border state hadn’t done this.

Maybe we are about to find out.

  2. The way to conservative victory next year is to keep hammering illegal immigration. Don’t shut up about it. Make noise when any illegal alien is arrested for a violent crime. Keep talking about the fentanyl coming over the border. Make hay about the terrorist watch list detainees.

Even people in the bluest of urban centers don’t like this influx of 3rd world economic migrants. For that’s what they really are…they’re not suffering from political persecution.

Letting them stay is a slap in the face to the many legal aliens that are here working and contributing to our country.

The bottom line here is that you cannot have a welfare state and open borders and still have a viable and self sustaining country.

  3. “ The bottom line here is that you cannot have a welfare state and open borders and still have a viable and self sustaining country.” You’ve been channeling Milton Friedman who made that remark ages ago.

  4. Ibram Henry Rogers should have a whole page or 2 in Dr Sowell’s latest book. Something about handing pallets of $$ to angry marxists & watching them enrich themselves at the expense of their foot soldiers.

“What will happen if the Communists return?”
    or something…

  5. Kendi and diAngelo are malevolent clowns. The thing is, they’d be of no consequence if someone wasn’t hiring them, supplying them with speaking fees, and supplying them with grant money. The most thoroughgoing criminals in their story are people whose names are largely unknown bar Jack Dorsey.

  6. Kendi is, was and always will be a grifter. Once he conned the rubes out of their dough, he left town (figuratively) and he ain’t a-comin’ back. It is truly a shame that people have failed to study the ways and wiles of Kingfish on the Amos ‘n’ Andy Show. He made a living at this kind of cheap con. As far as Garland, it is pretty clear he never asked about anything because he did not want to know the answers. Thus, he can sit before a Committee inquiring about his knowledge, and claim like Sergeant Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes, “I know nothing, I know NOTHING!” and do it with the same theatrical enthusiasm.

  7. 1) couldn’t happen to a more deserving slime ball.

2)Trump will not be ‘defeated’ in the general election.
But more ‘votes’ will be ‘found’ for his opponent.

    3) Merrick Garland has presented irrefutable evidence of his unfitness for office. Mitch McConnell must be given credit where credit is due.

    4) When his political back is to the wall, Governor Abbott can be persuaded to do the right thing.

    5) White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stands second only to Joe Biden in lying with a straight face. These people have sacrificed their conscience upon the altar of their ideological fanaticism.

  8. “…Kendi’s in trouble, a case of leftists eating their own.”

Yes, but it took Kendi doing a BLM and kiting 30 million via the Center for Antiracist Research to make get them to eat.

  9. Whether Trump or RDS or Nikki or anyone else will be the best candidate to run against Biden or whoever is untestable and unprovable and to my mind not worth wasting flops on.
I don’t think the D’s would be expending so much energy and resources trying to take Trump down if they weren’t scared sh|tless of him. I leave it to the reader to determine if they view him as a low probability but extremely high risk outcome, or if they are scared he would be more likely to win and spoil their party. Either way, he has my vote in the primary, because the republic cannot tolerate the lawfare he is being hit with.

  10. There is arguably no bigger group of ‘useful idiots’ for the Democrat Party than old school trade unions (like the UAW). Or, at least their leadership. The Democrat leadership has disdained them, with increasing openness, for a couple decades. Brandon was selected in part because of his BS ‘working class Scranton’ shtick which, while not very convincing, likely did sway a few blue collar voters in rustbelt states.

In any case, old labor’s loyalty to the Democrats had remained because the GOP was largely disinterested in them, assuing that appealing to them was a lost cause, and offered nothing as far as messaging to them.

Until Trump. Yes, this move is savvy and I respect him for it.

To reiterate: Trump is not my first, second or third choice for the GOP nomination. But he is the heavy favorite to be the nominee and thus I appreciate any clever campaign moves he makes. This is one of them

  11. I agree: Trump is the likely nominee, but the GOP will lose by a wide margin. If Trump is the nominee, a large segment of the GOP and the independents won’t support him. If Trump doesn’t get the nomination, a large number of his diehard supporters won’t support anyone else.

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

It doesn’t matter who the DNC nominate, they’ll win easily. So easily, they won’t need their fraud infrastructure. If it does threaten to get close, they can steal 10-15% in several key states.

  12. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
Everyone knows that Obama/”Biden” and the Mullahs are thick as thieves.
(And if they don’t, they should…)

  13. A commenter at the Abbott link points out that the letter cited there is from November 2022. Texas has already placed marine and land obstacles, and Biden Inc has worked at removing them both physically and through court decrees.
Abbott is fighting back against federal interference.

Other commenters indicate that NY Governor Hochul should help.

  14. Here is some clarification for the confusion.

    https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/immigration/texas-gov-greg-abbott-invasion-southern-border/

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared “an invasion” at the southern border Wednesday evening, deploying the Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement agencies.

“I officially declared an invasion at our border because of Biden’s policies,” Abbott posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday.

He continued: “We are building a border wall, razor wire and marine barriers. We are also repelling migrants.”

Along with the post, Abbott attached a letter sent to President Joe Biden last November. In the letter, Abbott argues the federal government is not upholding its end of a constitutional agreement to individual states to “protect each of them against Invasion.”

  15. In checking out Article I Section 10 I was surprised and pleased to see the ending language “… unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.” I presume the Framers were thinking of invasion by a foreign nation, and in a time and place where transport and communications occurred at 4 to 6 mph. Not invasion aided and abetted by our own national government. But invaded is invaded, right?

I guess the SCOTUS will end up deciding what constitutes invasion, based on “the facts in evidence”. Or perhaps it will never get that far before GB’s admonitions take over??? Just when do large numbers of unarmed people constitute a “danger”? But really only in a Western or Christianized culture.

  16. I think that what we’re seeing is “Biden”‘s war against America ramping up to even greater intensity because of the huge number of credible allegations—no matter what the corrupt media/infotech might say**—being made of “Biden”‘s illegalities and crimes.
(This is what happens when you try to tell the truth about a criminal regime…that has decided it must attain—and maintain—power by any and all means necessary.)

** Or, if you will, further proven to be accurate precisely by the corrupt media’s/infotech’s pathetic denials of said crimes along with their absurd and hysterical defense of the criminal regime…

Meanwhile, in Canada, it looks like Trudeau has been wearing the wrong socks…as he helps to create a genuine crisis with India.

    File under: Huh?

  17. “If Trump is the nominee, a large segment of the GOP and the independents won’t support him.”

Then they deserve Joe Biden and his open borders.

  18. ” Leftists eating their own.”

Extremist organizations always do this. Unfortunately the element that often prevails in the end is the most extreme and most ruthless.

    Re: Merrick Garland

He reminds me of Sgt. Schultz of Hogan’s Heroes.
If you recall, “I know nothing” Schultz made every effort – and successfully – to be ignorant of anything and everything, all in an effort to save his own ass.

Well Garland is doing likewise, but in this instance it is the republican led committees that are playing the role of Col. Klink. Klink had zero success in controlling Hogan, and as one would expect, the republican controlled committees
    – all talk and no action – will have zero success in actually having anyone fired or indicted for their actions related to January 6, the Hunter /Joe bribery scam or for lying under oath before congressional committees.

  19. If Biden goes out for ice cream in Delaware and faces a real protest, it’s a sign that he’ll lose. That he hasn’t is a sign that the country is so brain-dead that it will reelect him. Of course, the Biden Team and the Secret Service do what they can to control such events, and Joe hasn’t gone out for ice cream recently, so the ice cream test probably won’t work. Still, if he has any real appearances in public, watch them closely for signs of public dissent. It’s surprising that he hasn’t faced mass protests already, and not so surprising if the media has just suppressed mention of them.
    _________

I have no doubt that Justin Trudeau will defuse the crisis by appearing in Indian garb with a floral garland around his neck and making the little namaste gesture. Whether he simply dots his head or goes full brownface, I don’t know, but dad’s Nehru jacket may still be in Justin’s closet.

  20. }}} He wrote: “The federal government’s failure has forced me to invoke Article I, § 10, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, thereby enabling the State of Texas to protect its own territory against invasion by the Mexican drug cartels.”

Judging from the unConstitutional efforts by the lunatic governor of New Mexico, I have no doubt he’s going to need to build a wall along THAT border, as well.

    :-/

But more power to him, for sure.

  21. }}} Joe Biden in lying with a straight face

It ain’t lying with a straight face if your mental state is so addled you don’t know the truth from the biggest lie ever made.

    :-/

    Jus’ Sayin’….

  22. The way to conservative victory next year is to keep hammering illegal immigration.

I like it! I also imagine in response a full court press of tearjerking stories about noble, put-upon Dreamers, DACAs, Migrants etc.

  23. The thought of losing the 2024 election is just unbearable to me. But I’m inclined to agree with neo. The Dems have perfected their cheating.

With 8-10m new illegal aliens in this country, how do we ever recover?

  24. Wendy Brown:

And if Trump is not the nominee, what about those Trump supporters who will not vote for any other Republican who is nominated? Do they, likewise, deserve whatever the victorious Democrats do?

  25. Like Neo I’m skeptical about our chances this next election, but I’m not in despair just yet. Sooner or later the situation in the country will get dire enough that it will produce a Red Wave so massive that all the phony mail-in ballots won’t be able to cancel it out. A perfect storm is brewing, with inflation, immigration, the national debt, and culture wars all piling on. Also, don’t forget that the other side will most likely field an utterly decrepit candidate.

But yeah, it would be great if someone who isn’t at risk to end up in the slammer before Election Day rose to the surface. What we really need is an educator like Reagan. Trump isn’t, but neither is DeSantis.

  26. It is an unfortunate observation that the GOP will never again win a presidential election.

The reason Trump won in 2016 was because everyone, every political entity believed that Hillary was a shoo-in, so the left never activated their ballot fraud machinery.

The reason Trump lost in 2020 was because the left said ‘never again’ and engaged in massive ballot fraud, complicit with election mechanics rules being changed under the guise of COVID.

It is now crystal clear that the judiciary will not interpose itself in any presidential election controversy, regardless of the legitimacy of the claims brought before it. Trump brought something like 40 election fraud suits, but the judiciary didn’t let a single one go to trial, arguing ‘standing’ issues or some such. It is far easier for a judge to simply refuse to hear the merits than to stand up to the leftist mob that will descend upon him and his family and his career if he were to allow a case to proceed. The only election fraud case that made it to the merits stage (to my knowledge) was brought by Keri Lake of AZ, and then only a fraction of her evidence was allowed to be heard.

The left knows that they can drive a Ryder truck filled with manufactured ballots to the polling place at 2 AM on election night and no judge will lift a gavel.
