  1. What Adam Schiff did is far more egregious and far more damaging than anything Joe McCarthy did.

  2. Obama has graced our island of Paros with his presence for several days’ vacation with Tom Hanks prior to giving a keynote speech in Athens.

“We are honored and delighted to announce that President Barack Obama will take part in this year’s SNF Nostos Conference from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) where he will join SNF Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos for a one-on-one keynote conversation focused on how to strengthen our democratic culture and the importance in investing in the next generation of leaders.”

This is a bit rich as the most likely controller behind the Biden presidency he is responsible for the undermining of democratic culture.

    As an added attraction:
“The Obama Foundation announced yesterday: “In June, the [Obama Foundation Leaders] program will culminate in an in-person convening with President Obama in Athens, Greece, that brings together all 105 Obama Leaders. The Leaders convening will be an opportunity for changemakers to conclude their six-month leadership development journey, build cross-cohort connections, and graduate into the Obama Foundation Leadership Network, our community of global program alumni.”

“The Barack Obama Foundation’s Leaders programs aim to inspire, empower and connect regional cohorts of changemakers to accelerate positive and lasting change in their communities and throughout their region.”

I tried to find the espoused values of the Foundation but could only find change for changes sake. Obama’s campaign used the slogan “Change we can believe in” and the chant “Yes We Can”. It seems to me that the main goal of the Foundation is to inflict on the rest of the world the change inflicted on the USA during his and the Biden presidencies.

  3. This is what a search for values of Barack Obama provides:

    What are Obama’s key values?
We are defined not by politics, but by our values:

TEAM. We are invested in the success of others, we treat each other with respect and kindness, and we will work diligently to lift each other up.

    HUMILITY. …
    INTEGRITY. …
    INCLUSIVITY. …
    STEWARDSHIP. …
    FEARLESSNESS. …
    IMAGINATION.

Not at all the values that I would attribute to Obama.

  4. Well, it’s Greek to me… and no doubt, Tim Scott was unavailable for comment, let alone Tom Stevens…

Probably had someone in the Soros Foundation composed the list for ‘im. Pure poetry.
(Those guys are really good at this kind of thing…)

But then, if you’re gonna lie, might as well make it a huge one!
As they say, “In for a penny, in for a pound”…

  5. Very cool video. I was most impressed with the dog trotting backwards. Our dogs would walk backwards, but always slowly with some hesitancy.

One of our German shepherds would howl along with singers played loudly on the stereo. But only with Beethoven’s 9th, when the soprano and alto come in near the end.

  6. the Church of Obama

    Xylourgos, Kate:

    Or its Second Coming.

The whole Obama-Messiah aspect of his 2008 campaign I thought was absolutely shameful for Americans.

Every now and then I wish to gaze upon the celebration of foolish innocence which was the “I Pledge to Serve Barack Obama” video by the “Friends” generation of TV celebrities.

A harmless enough pastime by today’s fevered standards. But today I discovered that video in the fullness of its glory has been scrubbed from the web. The best I could find was the following Reason video providing all too brief excerpts.

–“I Pledge to Serve Barack Obama” (Urgent 2012 Election Update)

  7. David F.

Too bad ChatGPT did not expound on the ambition of ChatGPT to identify as human intelligence.

  8. huxley, you’re right, and Obama has either continued to believe in his messiah-like stature, or continues to realize he can make money from it.

  9. Wow. They really did scrub the web of the “I Serve Obama” video. That’s memory-holing a historical document that’s only 15 years old and IMO truly captured the messianic tone of 2008.

If one likes Obama, it’s not terrible — what’s not to like? It just makes a bunch of once-young Hollywood celebrities look a bit foolish.

    Clearly that’s reason enough.

  10. Huxley et al.:

Here’s a link to the complete video of celebrities pledging to serve the messianic Obama: https://youtu.be/51kAw4OTlA0

The video was posted by someone named “terriad.” It’s his only upload and has been watched over 827,000 times. From reading the comments, I think it’s fair to say that “terriad” is not an Obama supporter.

Of course, the existence of this video doesn’t undermine your point that the original version has suspiciously disappeared. I’m only providing a link to satisfy your perverse taste in political theater. I just watched it, but not with much pleasure.

  11. @Neo:
Loved the video. All that was missing was a shot at the end of Simon Cowell sitting slack-jawed in awe.

  12. Cornflour:

Thanks for the link! It’s a brilliant propaganda piece for its time, place and audience.

Commenters here are often mystified by Democrats. How can they be so foolish, stupid, mean or downright evil? This video is a clue. This is how Democrats see themselves — good, kind, caring, cool, fun, idealistic and, in their way, patriotic.

The swelling “West Wing” music is perfect for the warm, circle-dancing feeling that keeps Democrats convinced that they are on the Right Side, and any who oppose them must be senselessly retrograde, hateful and on the Wrong Side.

Which of course doesn’t justify Democrats, but it can give one a sense for the emotional underpinnings of how they act.

  13. This was my favorite comment on the video

Amazing how the dog keeps barking little commands to guide the human through the routine. She did a great job, the dog must be very proud of her. I bet she got a new dress when they got home.

  14. @ huxley > “This is how Democrats see themselves — good, kind, caring, cool, fun, idealistic and, in their way, patriotic…. The swelling “West Wing” music is perfect for the warm, circle-dancing feeling that keeps Democrats convinced that they are on the Right Side,”

Why don’t Republicans ever make ads like that?

Only without this part — “and any who oppose them must be senselessly retrograde, hateful and on the Wrong Side.”

Or is it necessarily a package deal?

  15. Oddly, I just watched a video that addresses my last question, sort of tangentially, but the strands of the spider web are always connected.

Joe Rogan & Jordan Peterson on Equality of Outcome
    Jan 30, 2018

Peterson points to some essential observations in Orwell’s “The Road to Wigan Pier,” which is that although the Left bases its (inevitable) tyranny on compassion for the poor, the typical middle class socialist despises poor people.
They are driven more by their hatred for the successful (not just because they are rich, which may be why rich leftists get a “pass” from the vituperation thrown at conservatives).
