Still working on fixing a few glitches
I’ve been dealing with tech support for quite a while last night and this morning, and I finally ended up signing on for a higher level of support for a month in order to fix some of the problems. I’m curious whether any of you are still experiencing any difficulties getting to the site. For me it’s loading slower, at least sometimes. I’m also getting a cached version on my phone, minus today’s open thread so far, although I’m getting the correct updated version on my regular computer with the open thread showing up. And the redirect from the old URL is working at times but not working perfectly.
My goal while I have the higher level of tech support is to get these things fixed and to also tidy up other loose ends, such as getting the “preview” tab to work. High hopes, right?

I get times where I just can’t open the site. Other than that, this is usually a slow site to open, for me, but worth the wait.
Starting at about 7:30 eastern, tried every 15 minutes or so to get on. Finally got on about 8:50.

No trouble getting to the site this morning, but it does load slowly.

Not sure if this is anything that your tech support can fix, or maybe it’s a choice you made, but if I search ‘thenewneo.com’ in Google I only get hits for stats sites and an old old Instapundit post noting that you changed urls but I never get a link to your site directly. From time to time I seem to have dns resolution issues for ‘thenewneo.com’. Could be related to the site loading slowly from time to time but I’m just an old mainframer and not an internet engineer.
One weird development: When I refreshed this page, the previous comments had disappeared, but when I hit the “Leave a Comment” prompt, the previous comments reappeared and I could post this one.

The new site has always been slow loading for me.
But again, worth the wait.
It’s always seemed to load slow, but I’ve never experienced any times I couldn’t get on at all, and the wait is generally around 15-20 seconds, occasionally 30 seconds or so. But definitely worth the wait.

It’s been sometimes slow, and a couple of times so slow that it timed out.
No problems with loading, and just did a search for ‘thenewneo.com’ in Brave (using DuckDuckGo) and the correct site came right up.
However, the search in Chrome (also using DDG) had this odd result at the top of the hits:

One caveat: I usually don’t start reading here until late at night (very late EDT), so I may be beating the heavier traffic.
Today I had to delete my Feedly (RSS aggregator) link to thenewneo, then reinstall it to see the latest links.
Don’t know what that means. Something changed, something broke, but all seems well for now.
MacBook Pro, Brave browser, I’ve never had any trouble loading here. Hey, we finally got our Starlink! Now I have a reliable, fast internet connection. But even with my old, dreadful rural connection, I never had any trouble loading.
Whatever the fix was, it seems to have been effective. Much quicker loading.
