Democrats refuse to pass law requiring illegal immigrants to be tested for COVID… — 29 Comments

  1. Another chance for us to ask the question posed by the immediately previous post:

At what point, if ever, will Americans’ dissatisfaction with the Biden administration translate into voting behavior?

  2. The elites personal behavior tells us all we need to know about what they think the real risks of COVID are. Every thing they do is intended to make this ‘crisis’ last as long as possible.

  3. They’re not hypocrites. It’s their plan. Spread chaos throughout the country by thousands of poor, uneducated people carrying disease. What better way to bring the country down? Add in a 3.5 trillion inflation booster and Soros must be dancing all around.

  4. physicsguy:

They are indeed hypocrites, and it is their plan. Being a hypocrite is to publicly profess to believe one thing but to not really believe it and to act contrary to it.

  5. JimNorCal:

I am pretty sure that most people have no idea this is even happening (the blocking of the proposed statute). I could only find coverage on Fox and some other news outlets with a local interest or blogs on the right.

If people don’t even know what the Democrats are actually doing or not doing, they’re not going to turn on the Democrats.

  6. It [testing positive] merely would require that they not be released from custody for a while.
    – – –
I have yet to find an article that explains the rationale the Democrats gave for blocking the bill.
    — Neo

For this operation, their plan is to flood the country with millions of immigrants in a modest amount of time. That much is certain. To hold 10 or 20% of them for a multi-week quarantine would be a huge bottleneck.

  7. Tommy Jay:

That’s easy to figure out. That’s not what I was referring to, however. I was referring to the rationale, the argument they publicly offered – if any – for blocking the bill.

  8. @ Neo > “If people don’t even know what the Democrats are actually doing or not doing, they’re not going to turn on the Democrats.”

And hence we see the necessity of the media purges, censoring, and dismissing of conservative concerns and actual news if it casts doubt on The Narrative.
Hunter Biden’s Laptop, for instance, but examples are legion and I could give six or eight links just from today’s news.
They can still call the Covid-paranoia-opposition’s posts “just their opinion” – despite solid studies and irrefutable expertise of at least some of them, but other examples are firmly in the “Just the facts, Ma’am” territory.

My big question is WHY are some of the Democrat Media NOW talking about the events they previously deep-sixed or skated past, to Biden’s detriment?

  9. Other than it’s only a cudgel to beat citizens in line and they really have no faith in their Vax who knows why one case has no bearing on the other.

  10. To the extent it’s discovered, it fulfills the role of….yeah, we’re doing this stupid thing to you and there’s not a damned thing you’re going to do about it.

  11. No hospital admission rights for mother’s Choice and survivors of planned parent/hood. No health mandates for illegal aliens, and, in fact premeditated exposure of families and communities to pandemic conditions. Demos-cracy is aborted in darkness.

  12. Like many, I used to think that one’s time spent pointing out hypocrisy was in some way going to help our cause. But not too long after the Biden junta took office, I began to think “It doesn’t matter. They don’t care. Whatever works for them right now, they will do.”

And that’s right. Nobody in the Biden administration who has anything to do with the disaster on the border is going to wake up tomorrow, slap their forehead and say, “You know, maybe firing Border Patrol people for not getting vaccinated but letting thousands of untested, COVID-positive people into our our country really doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t look good, so let’s change our policy.”

In fact it, does make sense…to them. (1) More immigrants, the better. (2) Fewer people to stop them, the better. (3) the ones that do lose their job are probably the ones most likely to cause trouble in more ways, so if they and their families suffer the loss of income, serves them right.

    And here we are.

  13. It is really a malignant transformation of Cloward-Piven.
America is doomed. Another three years of this? Illegals now get to vote in Leftist states like Vermont in all but federal elections.

The news is that about 400,000 illegals will walk thru the Southern door to our country in the next month alone. Cooler weather means more illegals. Including, according to Panama’s government, some 85,000 Haitians on the march.

  14. The day is fast approaching where the choice will be to go postal or stay home and “lick the hands of those who feed you”.

Indeed it’s already here but hope dies a slow lingering death.

NY State: no vaccine = no job, no unemployment = take as many of the bastards with you as you can.

The most dangerous of men is the one who has nothing left to lose.

  15. Roll-aid:

    Agreed.

They are not the least bit worried about their hypocrisy being pointed out, and they believe that their policies suit their ends.

  16. Geoffrey Britain,

We’re fighting the NYS vaccine mandate now. My job (NYS Unified Court System) had a 9/27 deadline to file a religious or medical exemption. An Albany Supreme Court judge issued a temporary restraining order so the mandate is on hold while the NYS Unified Court System files more papers, goes judge shopping (you can do that when you control the system that is going to hear your case) and hires a prestigious NYC law firm to represent them.

I am unvaccinated so, of course, I am waiting to hear what happens to my job. Especially since I won’t be eligible for unemployment if I am fired. I have a spotless record and only two sick days in my entire career but none of it will matter.

I didn’t fill out the religious exemption because it was not given out in good faith. It has a number of spots where I must check a box agreeing that the court system can put me out of work at any time, indefinitely. Also, I would need to write an essay on my religion, as well as provide the name of my pastor (I’m Roman Catholic) as well as other supporting documents about my religion. So they can contact my pastor and check on me. Almost all of that is illegal, I believe.
And even if the exemption is granted, it is only good for one year, can be revoked at any time (another one of the check boxes you must agree to to submit it).

An attorney I spoke with said that it violates my civil rights under color of law, and is in violation of the Federal Civil Rights act, title VII. But the attorney didn’t want to take my case. Very few attorneys want to sue the court system, especially over the vaccine.

Also, Governor Hochul, who has threatened roughly 40,000 NYS nurses with replacement by less qualified foreigners, and who has also been doing a really creepy, ‘speaking for God’ bit, is going to authorize the NY National Guard medical staff to pick up the slack of the nurses who are terminated.

Never mind the fact that there isn’t nearly enough NG nurses and doctors to do that: the kicker is, the National Guard part-timers don’t have to be vaccinated until 2022. So, she will replace nurses (who are suddenly dangerous, when last year they were heroes) with National Guard nurses, who don’t have to be vaccinated yet, but somehow aren’t a danger or liability.

And how many of those NG nurses, are the same nurses about to be fired? Probably quite a few.

I knew my state was a mess. I had no idea it would go this insane, this fast.

  17. Fractal Rabbit

The fact stands; these clowns won elections and they or those like them are most likely to win the next ones.

  18. I always read the comments at Powerline’s The Week in Pictures because it quadruples the number of snarky political memes and other humor for the day.
This is just a selection of those that are at least quasi-relevant to the topic.
Starting with some observations especially for Fractal Rabbit – and if you get fired, we’ll take up a collection to move you to Florida.

    Mt Geoff-Debbie
People declining to get the shot cover a gamut from well-informed and doubtful to pig-headed.
People recommending that others get the shot cover the gamut from well-informed to well-intended.
People demanding that others get the shot just tend to be pig-headed.

My good friend declined to get the shot. Her golf friends make her sit “over there” at lunch and even refuse to ride in the golf cart with her. In the past few weeks, one came back from a trip to France, another went to CA, and two more returned from other trips. All went via plane, took cabs, ate in restaurants, etc., etc, but treat a wonderful woman they’ve known for 30 years like a pariah.

  19. A few more, but most of the selections today are worth a visit. There are some great meme-art-brokers over there (that is, they have a vast library of bookmarked memes, but don’t seem to create their own). Is there such a thing as a Meme Gallery?

  20. Again for Geoffrey, which I think has been around for awhile but posted again by a commenter FCinNH at TWIP today.
“Stolen from a comment on Larry Correia’s blog.”

“The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of “Men who wanted to be left Alone”.
They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love.
They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it.
They know that the moment they fight back, the lives as they have lived them, are over.
The moment the “Men who wanted to be left Alone” are forced to fight back, it is a small form of suicide. They are literally killing off who they used to be. . . .
Which is why, when forced to take up violence, these “Men who wanted to be left Alone”, fight with unholy vengeance against those who murdered their former lives. They fight with raw hate, and a drive that cannot be fathomed by those who are merely play-acting at politics and terror. TRUE TERROR will arrive at the Left’s door, and they will cry, scream, and beg for mercy . . . . but it will fall upon deaf ears.”

Paired with a quote from Claire Wolfe also making the rounds.

  21. Aesopfan. the Men Who Wanted to Be Left Alone also know that, when they finally have to fight, their families are also doomed.

And those participating in the attacks are a larger number than just the local zoning board or some other collection of little Hitlers. Could be the cop you helped at an accident three years ago. Or the school counselor who screwed your kid’s college app data because of something you said at the school board meeting last year.

    Enormous anger, many targets.

I read your article and then response and I laughed.

Hypocrisy is acting at odds with what one truly believes, not acting at odds at what the outside observer believes. The left only believes in power. Therefore it is not hypocrisy to say one thing and do another because that helps them in their end goals.

As a young man I used to believe they were hypocrites and illogical. But all one has to do is recognize power is their center philosophy and it all falls into place, and it is entirely self consistent. The belief in hypocrisy is only us using our moral centers and projecting. It has nothing to do with what they believe.

If chaos helps in their reach for power, then they will encourage that. If lies help, they will lie. They will tax the rich while using insider knowledge to become wealthy themselves.

No, they are, at base, completed corrupt and power driven, so there is no hypocrisy.

  23. Brendan:

    You laughed?

I used the dictionary definition of the word:

1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

Not in contradiction to his actual beliefs, but to his stated beliefs. Hypocrisy is about pretense. As I wrote, it’s “to publicly profess to believe one thing but to not really believe it and to act contrary to it.”

    Or see this:

A hypocrite preaches one thing, and does another…

The word hypocrite is rooted in the Greek word hypokrites, which means “stage actor, pretender, dissembler.” So think of a hypocrite as a person who pretends to be a certain way, but really acts and believes the total opposite.

  24. In some cases, the hypocrite does not espouse beliefs of any sort but allows others to infer decent beliefs.
