Happy Easter! — 16 Comments

  1. Zara, from my Sister – and my sentiments exactly:
“Man….best lyrics ever to that tune. Had me in tears.
    Thanks for sharing.”

  2. With hope in (and for) the future….

…Even if “the now” is looking a bit grim…

In the meantime, the forces of Good and Evil are openly and firmly arrayed, with evil—confidently (not for the first time, certainly)—showing its ugly hand.

And so, with the holiday’s over (OTOH, is it ever over?) it’s “back to business”…

Case in point: in the ghastly and disheartening shadow of “Biden”-world, Major League Betrayal and Things-no-longer-go-better-with-Coke (that is, if they ever did)—among all too many other woke “phenomena”—here’s why it was absolutely necessary to cancel the courageous, unswerving Sidney Powell:

Not that her depressing message is one of joy and redemption…but it exudes light and Truth and hence is a prerequisite—and is indispensable—for any possible way forward.

  3. Zara A – Thank you for sharing that very beautiful and touching song with Neo and her readers here. Those sisters are further proof of Neo’s contributions about sibling harmonies. That’s the best version of that song that I’ve ever heard. I am sharing it with my sisters. It really touched my heart.

  4. Neo,

Thank you for the Easter greetings. As a Moravian, (yeah, who are the Moravians?)* There is nothing in my faith greater than Easter, and all that it means. I spent many fond memories of shared celebrations with my Jewish sister. Alas, our faith is under constant attack now, and I fear more persecution.

    * The Moravians are a small Protestant denomination. Also referred to as “The Easter People” The Easter Sunrise service in Old Salem began over two hundred years ago.

  5. Voice in the Wilderness,

For the first time I am aware of my Catholic Parish did an outdoor service for Easter (although it was in the middle of morning, not sunrise). It seemed very fitting. I know that is a common practice at a lot of Protestant, churches, and sunrise seems to make even more sense. My Parish did it this year because of the pandemic but I hope it becomes a tradition.

I would also recommend the Easter Vigil Catholic churches do. They are l-o-n-g. For me it’s not an every year thing; but they are magnificent to see and also involve themes of light and darkness enforced by literal rituals of lighting and snuffing out candles.

  6. Rufus,

Perhaps you can elaborate on something that has puzzled me for many years. I have attended Catholic services many times in my 69 years, and one thing I have noticed is that many Catholic churches depict Christ on the cross within the sanctuary, whereas in every Moravian church I have attended, the cross in the sanctuary is empty. I was told that Catholics tend to emphasize the crucifixion, and the Protestants (at least the Moravians) emphasize the resurrection.

I find that explanation too simplistic.

As for your morning Resurrection Service, God Bless you!
